observer   (12.16.10)
not only does Israel admit that it has been liability to global security, but it admits having nukes in the first place.
14. great job IAF

Yes, Israel shoots off it's cannon while you shoot off your mouth.
17. #11 I'd rather shoot down 82 Syrian fighters
Yossi G. ,   Jerusalem   (12.16.10)
without losing a single one, like in the first Lebanon war.
18. to #11 The I.A.F. took on the U.S.A.F.
jason white ,   afula,israel   (12.16.10)
in exercises according to Jane's. The score was 42-1 in favor of the I.D.F. So do not diss the I.A.F. At least they do precision bombing and pin point assassinations that no other air force in the world can do. Not to mention dog fights like the one against the syrian air force. The syrians lost 99 migs and we lost none of our jets. Furthermore we have been teaching the American pilots over the years and have modified the jets we bought.
19. #10 - hindsight is always 20/20
William ,   Israel   (12.16.10)
You think they overreacted because you now know what they shot at. Had that balloon contained explosives, spy equipment, or even a person, the action would have been fully justified. Erring on the side of caution is always warranted. Remember 1973 Yom Kippur war?
20. 18 - USAF never puts its top ranks aquadrons or pilots
Steve ,   NV   (12.16.10)
in those exercises. They usually put 3th 4th type squadron on those exercises never ever trying to win. Just relax my friend, IAF pilots know the truth and the last thing they would like see flying against them is the USAF.
21. #13 - and yet you can't admit to WMDs in Iraq
William ,   Israel   (12.16.10)
funny, just having a reactor is enough to accuse Israel of having nukes, but having such a reactor in Iran, Iraq, or Syria isn't enough proof for you, and won't be until they detonate a nuke. A nuclear reactor can be just a research facility. Many countries have them without being accused of being a liability to global security. Usually to be a liability to global security, one needs to threaten to wipe out people with said weapons, undermine global security by supporting terrorism, and continually reject normal Intl conventions of war. Despite Israel's precarious situation, it never threatened to use nukes. Iran isn't in any danger and most agree really has no enemies, but has threatened justified use of nukes anyway. As for having nukes, if the previous argument doesn't work for you, who cares? Israel's not a signatory to the NOT. Iran and Syria ARE!
22. #21 refrain from verbal threatening is enough justification?
observer   (12.16.10)
Well how many nuke countries have refrained till now? the answer is ALL.
23. to #20 They used their top guns and they
jason white ,   afula,israel   (12.17.10)
came out second. I was in the I.A.F. and spoke with pilots from the U.S.A.F. here. They came to learn how to fly better. Our pilots are better and the ground crews are better. The ground crews spend years learning, not months. Finally when was the last time the U.S.A.F. was involved in dogfights?

is that why the iaf is considered the best of the best. do you know how many israeli pilots train the american fighter pilots in the nevada desert???? go watch! it is fascinating!

(12.17.10)
yes, all..but those countries, all of them, do not sit in a geographical location surrounded by those extremist government willing to murder the israelis in israel, to terrorise them, to kill them, to bomb them, to conduct terrorism against them.. now you understand???? all these countries can afford to relax. no one wants to murder their citizens or obliterate their homeland...like they want to do to israel. so, even though israel has refrained from this, it has the most reason to have them, that is if they even do have them. shhh, no one is supposed to know. maybe yes, maybe no. you figure it our since you are so very "smart" not

27. #17 Israel shot down 82 Syrian jets
Capt Ahab ,   US   (12.17.10)
and nothing changes. Israel is still living under the threat of attack from Syria today.
28. An early Richard Clarke - David Ivri encounter
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (12.17.10)
Richard Clarke, in his "Against All Enemies", writes of discussions following the original US-Israel Strategic Cooperation Pact: Well, perhaps we could do an air-to-air exercise similar to Top Gun. "No, we [Israel] will beat you and then your [US] pilots will be mad at us." I suggested that the U.S. be allowed to position military supplies in Israel for our forces to use in a crisis with the Soviets. "Certainly. And we will use them when we have a crisis too." Eventually, however, we reached agreements... These days, Israel, the US and its allies do run such exercises and competitions. Sometimes the US teams come out on top, sometimes Israel.
29. Salma is that another one of your party balloons?
Alexander ,   NJ USA/Israel   (12.17.10)
30. I think it must have been ...
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.17.10)
.... Iran's latest-generation satellite; you know, the one that they claim is better than anyone else's.
