You can't be financially independent if you rely on the government for money or jobs. You need to grow up and make it for yourselves, just like any financially independent person. You should know - because there are plenty of successful businessmen right there in your own town. Take a page out of their book, instead of going around whining for money and jobs and benefits.

I challenge your statement. A majority do not in fact pay their taxes, which is why so much of the infrastructure is not up to Israeli standards. Also the fact is that over 90% do not serve.

Its common knowledge arabs do not pay taxes! arabs deal in cash and do not issue invoices.

It seems Israeli Arabs are now truly 2nd class citizens and starting to look like an Apartheid system. At least try to look fair to the rest of the World, Israel support is getting dangerously weak and US Congress can only go so far without a backlash.

The condition the the Palestinians don't meet is that they are not Jewish and in a JEWISH DEMOCRACY all benefits accrue to the Jews. I am sure you would like the Palestinians to cry you a river for the settlers have all but sucked out all the ground water from the Occupied West Bank :-)

You challenge a statement that the Palestinians pay taxes but there is no reporting by the govt that the Israeli Palestinians are refusing to pay taxes or their employers are refusing to withhold taxes - so really the challenge is to you to prove the Palestinians do not pay their taxes and you attack on is not personal cover for a racist cultural outlook. And while only a minority of Palestinian Israelis serve in the IDF is this as offensive to you as the ultra nationalist Jewish extremists are paid not to serve and not to work but just sit around and act medieval with their wives and daughters. And how upset were you when the Palestinians in Jerusalem who were denied schools and decent streets went out and refurbished schools and fixed roads - and what a scene and consternation it caused the powers to be in Israel - If the Israeli govt doesn't want to keep up the public roads in Palestinian neighborhoods or supply the schools it supplies for Jewish children then the Palestinians should just get use to it do nothing, say nothing, and if they want to celebrate their good works and have a school opening well I guess you just think that this is incitement, the Palestinians don't want peace. Pobably in you opinion the only reason Palestinians have children is to make suicide bombers.

A study was released only in the last year or so that confirmed that while the majority ofl Jewish municipalities paid their taxes to the state, only a minority of Arab municipalities did so. As to Rami's claim that "many also serve in the IDF", that simply isn't the case. The Druze serve, as do many Bedouin. But outside that latter group, the number of Arab Israelis who serve in the IDF is quite small. Less than 2,000 even do civilian national service, and over 90% of them are women. What problems the Bedouin encounter are mostly self-inflicted. The poverty and population pressure (the background to their grabbing state land) are closely tied to their still practiced polygamy which the state has elected not to deal with.

Tell that to the ARAB Christian plastic surgeon who performed minor surgery on my mom in Zfat Hospital last week. Or to the DRUZE engineer designing and building the new house we are constructing here on our Moshav. Or to the M.D. pediatrician that takes care of my grandkids. Or to the supermarkets in Arab towns that do so well because Jews buy there. Or to the NUMEROUS ARAB sales personel at the new Carmiel department store. NO ONE is saying that life here in Israel is perfect, OR that Arabs may suffer from discrimination in the private sector. BUT discrimination is illegal in Israel. Apartheid refers to an official stance of governement. Do people not realize that when they exhaggerate the situation by using such terminology, they only make it worse for the supposed victim?? BTW.... let's also differentiate between taxes. There is the state Income tax and the local city/council taxes (Arnona). I know that Arab towns are not capable of collecting very much of their LOCAL TAXES...those are the taxes that pick up the garbage, fix the street lights, etc..etc..etc. The budget received from the government matches the amount of money that the coucils collect. Many Moshavim in Northern Israel used to suffer similarly like Arab towns, because people weren't paying their Arnona (local council/city taxes). During the 90's (I think), local councils were legally held responsible for collecting taxes. Our lives have never been the same since. True we pay taxes now, but we also enjoy more and better services.

I guess the Arab people who definitely pay income tax are the ones working at the many shops in the northern area. Anyone working for a legal company or store would be paying income tax and their social security and their medical insurance.

Does the Israel courts do anything? The arabs in stolen lands do not have access to the courts because they are not part of Israel. The arabs are not given tax breaks because the court rules are not enforced. It is amazing how they still try to claim to be a democracy instead of George Orwells animal farm were some animals are more equal than others.
