Many western countries have been able to absorb the tens of millions of innocent people fleeing tyranny in their homelands. This means every single country in the middle east and north africa (except Israel, strangely enough). The UN is, of course, powerless to do anything. The western world prefers to take the natural resources from these countries and sell them goods and arms. It's not just an Israeli problem - it's a global problem. Islamic countries couldn't give a damn about the war in Sudan and the human rights debacle in Darfur. Just like they don't give a damn about the Palestinians except to exploit them for political gain. I feel badly for these refugees, who for the most part come here because they know that Israel is a safe haven.
