That is reflected in the current Israeli policy of "salvaging what we can" from the US onslaught. This is not why the Jews re-established the state of Israel. Not for a condition of permanent servitude and powerlessness. The IDF is full of heroes but completely helpless as government after government submits to orders from abroad and surrenders Jewish land recovered thanks to the blood of thousands of Jewish fighters. The Israeli Foreign Ministry website says: "The final status of Judea and Samaria - determining the borders between Israel and the Palestinian state, and those parts of Judea and Samaria which are to be correspondingly under Israeli and Palestinian jurisdiction - is yet to be resolved and is currently the subject of negotiations between the Government of Israel and the Palestinian Authority." While that statement is inaccurate - there being no negotiations but a heavy-handed treatment imposed on the Jews of Israel - no amount of diplomatic cover and use of words such as "negotiations" and "peace" can cover up an outright fraud. Why blame just the State Department and the White House when the Israeli government has already agreed to the partition Jewish for the creation of another Arab state. ~~~~~~~~~~~ THE GREATEST DANGER TO ISRAEL is the attitude among some influential politicians that Israel is not a sovereign state on solid historical, legal and moral foundations - whose land is not to be handed over at the whim of foreign countries. Israel needs to stop acting as a vassal state. Discussing conditions of surrender after a righteous victory is injurious to the Jewish spirit. Sanctions, criticism and pressure are nothing compared to the horrors Jews have been subjected to throughout history. I am an American Jew that has always supported Israel, but lately some voices there are disgusting me. For example, statements that Obama is anti-semitic, or this rot about Hilary. Obama and Hilary work for America, not Israel. And though some of you think Israel is the only cause in the world ... it is not. Obama and Clinton are trying to find a solution that will work for everyone ... but they aren't necessarily going to dance your tune all the time .. and I wouldn't vote for them if they did.

Take it from someone who is an American; The United States is disintegrating economically and militarily from the world stage. This country's morals and ethics are decaying. It is in the best interest of Israel and other countries to stop relying on the US. I essentially agree with what you have written. The lion's share of the blame lies with Israel's weak leaders. However, so long as Israel is dependent upon the United States for military aid, to one degree or another she will feel beholden and the US will exercise influence over her. That is the reason for American aid in the first instance. It buys influence; often immoral influence. That is why I have advocated, for many years now, Israel should wean herself off American aid and dependency; becoming as self-sufficient as is humanly possible. Because Israel's leaders deserve the lion's share of the blame for capitulating to immoral American pressure, this by no means absolves the United States of guilt. I hope that is not what you are suggesting.

I'm realistic and I know that Israel cannot exist without alliances. The US - in spite of its dreadful history of betrayal of allies (not only Israel BTW) - is for the time being the best choice among bad choices. Granted that, Steve, don't you just cringe when you read how the US treats the country and its leaders? This is not an alliance, this is a master-vassal relationship and something must be done to change that! There seem to be no lines they haven't crossed. Or tried to. The subject of "regime change" has surfaced for quite some time now and we see US officials meeting separately with the opposition, with Ehud Barak, with the military! (see my TB 22) The country must establish diplomatic boundaries with its "ally". It must show self-respect. This is my view. As Mr. Dann implied in this piece but did not state explicitly, Mr. Obama and Ms. Clinton are evil. I've not seen such a dangerous US president in my almost 58 years on this planet. I know that is a harsh point of view but it is true. Obama has done a great deal of damage to the US already. That having been said, George W. Bush, for whom I voted in 2000, said and did some unconscionable things toward Israel. Bush repeatedly lied about Israel "illegally" occupying Muslim land. He lied about the enemy, laying the groundwork for the rise of President B. Hussein whose sympathies are with America's enemies in my opinion. I agree Israel, at present, needs state of the art US weapons, but let us not forget, Israel was on the verge of producing her own jet fighter, the Lavi. The US pressured her to forgo the project. America may inadvertantly force Israel into acquiring more land and resources. She should not have given up the Sinai. You don't give up strategic land that has been conquered. The US has internalized this lesson. The point is, the US wants to keep Israel on a short leash. Truth be known, what America has been trying to bring about in Israel borders on seeking Israel's destruction; like John Loftus and Mark Aarons' book, "The Secret War Against the Jews." That is why I would look to America as a "feigned" ally at best. Israel is a powerful military and nuclear presence in the region.

Dann is right on target in his analysis of Clinton and the Obama regime. It is not naive. It is not misguided. It is plain evil.
