Remember in the UN, there are 192 members. 57 of those are Muslim countries, so in effect they control to a large extent what goes on. But they cannot control eveything, and when things don't go their way you see what they do. Now let us see if they same people who attack Israel for ignoring UN rulings, which are generally bias against Israel, will attack Iran or this. Don't hold your breath.

authority in anything, I am not sure where this "UN court" gets its authority to indict anyone. This is an internal matter for a sovereign country, Lebanon, to deal with. Therefore the UN should be kept out of this by all means. Khamenie is right in one respect, and that is the "court" is getting its orders from somewhere else.

as he blithely dismisses the tribunal, someone needs to tell the old chap that no one really gives heed to what he says. and knowing their mentality, discrediting the tribunal is a tacit admission that they fear it exposing the truth of their involvement. besides, everyone knows they are the puppet masters of hizbullah and syria, and this hit is the deed of this iranian gang. guilty, guilty, guilty!

It's really cheering me up to see that Ali Khamenei is opening his big, arrogant mouth and pinning his reputation on this issue. As long as the Special Tribunal keeps its nerve,as I would expect,Ali Khamenei is going to find himself discredited with his reputation trashed. Lovely. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!

Lebanon asked the UN to do this. The court is getting its orders from the truth. If a UN court finds anyone but Israel guilty, you can be sure that the evidence was very very very very very strong and impossible to circumvent.

Back to the drawing boards boys & girls. The man just shot this one out of the sky!

Declaring something "null and void" before he even knows what it says. That is either the sign of an extremely guilty conscience (assuming Khamenei has one; a debatable prospect at best) or remarkable prescience. If the former, he's about to get his comeuppance, big time -- an untenable embarrassment, and heads WILL roll; if the latter -- too bad he lacked such prescience before his cancer was discovered to be terminal.

Not necessarily on point with respect to this thread, but worth a read nonetheless. To all those who don't think that the Islamofascist regime is teetering on the brink, read here: http://pajamasmedia.com/michaelledeen/2010/12/19/the-iranian-death-spiral-speeds-up/

not saying so? This from the Wikileaks: "An international tribunal investigating the assassination of Lebanese prime minister Rafik Hariri has repeatedly asked for US help in the probe, US diplomatic cables released by WikiLeaks and published Thursday in Lebanese media showed." The issue here is NOT Israel, although you don't seem to know. The issue is deliberate efforts to destabilize Lebanon by creating sectarian strife which might lead to another civil war. That should not be allowed to happen. BTW, you are not in a position to know what's in those sealed "indictments" so what's the rush to judgment?

Typical of your remarkably uninformed self. The government of Lebanon made a formal request to the United Nations to conduct an inquiry. Khamenie is correct that the tribunal got its orders from somewhere else -- that "somewhere else" just happened to be the sovereign state of Lebanon. Do you have a problem with that, other than the fact that the results will likely show the Islamic Republic's trotters deeply involved in the assassination of Hariri?

Sectarian strife? Iran is behind all the sectarian strife in Lebanon, via their terrorist toadies Hezbollah. Since Khamenei is not in a position to know the content of the sealed indictments, why do you condone his rush to judgment?
