the new trees.
2. What goes around comes around
Carlos ,   NYC   (12.21.10)
Settlers have been doing it for decades. Must be payback time. Why not move to Israel proper and grow your trees there?
3. Land Mines
Terry Feld ,   Houston, Texas   (12.21.10)
Land mines, strategically placed, when exploded, will solve future problems like this.
4. If you act like a coward
Rachel ,   US   (12.21.10)
Your government is allowing this to happen to its people without any consequences. When I see how things are today, I think Olmert was all that bad.
5. This needs to stop for everyone, fire damage bad enough
Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, Texas   (12.21.10)
This is plain stupid and both sides should get together quickly to end this. Hate only creates more hate and in the end no one truly wins, then what is left for the children honor and be proud of.

You say, "Why not move to Israel proper and grow your trees there?" I say to you, "Why not move to Israel and then open your mouth?"

Oh, get your facts straight. All that bleating about the destruction of "Palestinian" olive trees is just so much blather. It's incredibly hard to uproot an olive tree, and virtually impossible to do it without making a considerable amount of noise. On the other hand, it is absolutely essential to prune and cut back olive trees so that they continue to produce fruit. All those pictures of "Palestinian" olive trees were merely pictures of trees after they had been pruned. More fool you for buying into the ruse. Most intelligent people did not. What does that say about you? If that is the game that the ersatz "Palestinian" terrorists wish to play, then Israel can play, too. A lot tougher and a lot harder.
8. guess thats what you get for farming on illegal land

Once again the settler land thiefs cry !
9. Unfortunately, If you dont have german shepherds
Yaaqove ,   BetShemesh Forest   (12.21.10)
that will rip these Fakestinian Arab terrorists (this happened because hes Jewish and only bc hes Jewish) apart, than how esle can this be prevented? Also I think the laws of trespassing need to be enforced with the gun. Im sick of this barbarism. It is our land. the governemnt of Israle must stop dithering about it and say so and point at Jordan, east palestine as their source of citizenship and statehood. Period.
10. Sarah B & Facts
Phil   (12.21.10)
Sarah seems to be an "expert" on everything.. including uprooting and pruning olive trees .. I've travelled in the West Bank and have seen with my own eyes numerous fields where trees were burnt, chopped down etc.. I'm not "claiming" to be the expert, but I do have 20:20 vision rather than the blinkers some talkbackers seem to prefer wearing As for "ersatz" .. Sarah can't make her mind up if she is American or Israeli.. how ersatz is that ?
11. Yaaqove and barbarism
Phil   (12.21.10)
Yaaqoc claims he's sick of barbarism.. and in the same breath calls for shooting "trespassers".. A bit contradictory.. By his "logic", the folks expelled from Beit Nattif who now live in the refugee camps of Bethlehem would be justified in taking arms in order to removing him from his house.. After all, Beit Shemesh is built on top of the ruins of this village So who is the trespasser
12. Call in Hashomer Hachadash!
GS ,   Raanana   (12.21.10)
Check out the youtube clip of Yoel Zilberman, founder of Hashomer Hachadash, the amazing grassroots organization of shomrim that's stepped in to help guard Jewish fields, orchards, sheep, etc. from scandalous Arab (not "Palestinian," - Arab) attempts to steal and destroy rightful Jewish property. As he stated in the clip, the thieves are waiting to be reminded that the land is indeed Jewish land and that Arab attempts to pilfer it will not succeed. To Yitzchak Shemesh, may HaShem compensate you for your loss.
13. We have to remove the illegal arab settlers
jason white ,   afula,israel   (12.21.10)
from our Jewish land. No more illegal arab settlements.

1. Forgive me for being smart. I realize that you are not, but -- hey, not my problem, right? 2. I've traveled extensively in the West Bank, too, and I have yet to see burnt and chopped-down trees. 3, Really? Not too shabby. My vision is 20-10. I could have become a pilot! 4. You need to look up the definition of the word "ersatz." (Why am I not surprised?)
15. Sick Thieves! Only Haters Destroy Trees-G-D's Creation

The destroyers hate G-D the Creator, and hate the land.
16. #8, I've got news for you, "Haim"
Hanoch ,   Bayside, USA   (12.21.10)
You think yourself a "good Jew" that lives in uncontested Tel Aviv, as opposed to "bad Jewish settlers" who live in Judea and Samaria. You think that by helping evict Jews from Judea you will earn credit form Arabs. I have news for you: to Arabs you are no different from "settlers" because you live in "their" city they call Tel Rabe'a. I can understand and even respect the enemy, but I have nothing but contempt for the likes of you.
17. Land owner?
Paul ,   Trinidad   (12.21.10)
In Barkhan, Palestine? Well, I don't think its his land and the palestinians are just harvesting communal crops.

I'm sorry, but there just is no mention of "Palestine" in my Rand McNally atlas. There is evidently no such country. There never has been.

I think you need to look up the difference between "expulsion" and "voluntary departure." The Arabs who left their homes in 1947-48 did so at the behest of their leaders, who told them to get out of the way of the conquering Arab armies. Unfortunately for them, the tiny fledgling state of Israel was able to beat back the combined might of five invading Arab armies, plus ersatz "Palestinian" irregulars. Those Arabs who did not heed the call to leave are citizens of Israel and enjoy all the rights and privileges of citizenship, though not all of the obligations. Those who left did so voluntarily. Sorry, there is no right of return. They remain displaced persons to this day. Care to address the forced expulsion of nearly one million Jews from their homes in Arab and Islamic countries following Israel's stunning victory in the War of Independence? What right of compensation do they have? They were forced to abandon homes, businesses, bank accounts and arrived in Israel with little more than the clothes on their backs. Israel absorbed all these refugees, and integrated them into society. Following Israel's extraordinary victory in 1967, still more Jews were expelled from their homes in Arab and Islamic countries. Israel absorbed them, too. The Arabs who left Israel became displaced persons -- which is not the same as refugees -- and it is to the eternal shame of their Arab brethren that they refused to absorb them and give them new lives and homes. But that is not the fault of Israel, now, is it? You really need to educate yourself before spouting absurdities, Phil. Unless, of course, you don't mind being ridiculed. It's up to you. 20. #17, That's right, rightful Jewish landowner
Hanoch ,   Bayside, USA   (12.22.10)
The relevant international law, League of Nations Palestine Mandate, Article 6, calls for "close Jewish settlement" on land west of the Jordan River, in particular state land and waste land. Article 6 was reaffirmed by Article 80 of the U.N. Charter. Virtually all Jewish communities built in Judea and Samaria since 1967 have been established on state lands or private property purchased for development.
21. Settles are occupiers, invaders, and tersspassers. So...
Persian CAT   (12.22.10)
they CANNOT be called "owners" by definition. Who sold them the deeds to the land they're occupying? In that case buying and selling stolen goods must be legal. Well, it ain't!
22. "Sarah B." - If you look in any atlas, you'll see...
Persian CAT   (12.22.10)
there was no Israel before 1948, there never was. There are some Jewish folk stories that point to the "land of Israel", but no "Jewish state" as the Zionista would like us to believe. I am all for Israel right to exist. But withing its 1948 borders. No Zionist has the right to dictate whether the Palestinians can have a state of their own. Although I more in favor of getting rid of the imported "royal family" from Jordan to create the Palestinian state including the West Bank. BTW, I'm sure you did not "see" any trees uprooted by the settler terrorist in the West Bank, because you were traveling on the "Jews-Only" roads, the the usual foam from you mouth was covering your eyes - in your case not a rare condition at all. Am I wrong?
