Syrian moukhabarat killed him...he knew too much
2. last week it was spy equipment this week we killed somebody
zionist forever   (12.21.10)
A new Israeli spy ring is found virtually every week in Lebanon. The brave Republican Guard in Iran have caught squirrels and pigeons spying for Israel with equipment made in Israel. According to Hizbollah Israel killed Rafik Hariri. Israel got caught spying on Lebanon with a super hi-tec a rusty blue metal box with an antenna that was made in Israel Now we killed Assad's aide. Israel kills people certainly but not unless there is something to be gained strategically. There is nothing to be gained by killing one man who supports Hizbollah when the entire regime supports Hizbollah IS THERE ANYTHING ISRAEL WONT DO?
3. Accusation of the week, I guess
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (12.21.10)
As the Syrians said themselves in the "heated" meeting. This one statement says it all. "'if the Israelis did it' (killed Suleiman), why was the Syrian government continuing the dialogue?" the embassy source added. "'And if it was an inside job, people are wondering about their future." They simply did not, and still don't know. Every week we have a new charge, all that's important for the readers to understand, in most cases they are false charges to vilify Israel. I just find this one more interesting because the Syrians admitted they really did not know, and began to wonder who was next on the hit list, if it was an "inside job". Plus I love the way they referred to Lebanon and receiving "generosity" from Syria. Was that code for coming back with Iran and taking over? That Syria has been to lenient with Lebanon, because they consider Lebanon to be part of Syria, they don't recognize Lebanon's right to exist any more than Israel. But that's for a later day?
4. Notice accusation by Sunday Times
William ,   Israel   (12.21.10)
Not that "Israel was suspected of..." but rather "Israel is guilty of...", despite the lack of proof. Wish they provided that same "certainty" regarding Arab terrorists even when the proof is overwhelming. Just another day in the anti-semetic world of mainstream media.
5. #3 - Syrians consider Lebanon part of Levant
William ,   Israel   (12.21.10)
The Syrians have had the dream of Great Syria/Levant, to include Lebanon, parts of Israel and parts of Jordan, since the 1920s. They still believe Lebanon will fall to Syria the same way Saddam believed Kuwait was part of Iraq. When one considers the Syrian investigation on the death of Imad Mugniyeh, which actually implicated Syrians and Palestinians, and NOT Israelis, the future for anyone in an executive role is a potential target. But didn't Syria, Iraq, and Egypt all model themselves after the paranoid, vindictive, psychopath called Stalin?
