31. Yaacov the Patriarch had two wives and two concubines.
Rivkah   (12.22.10)
Rachel and Leah were not very happy. They hated each other and competed for Yaacov's attentions and affections. I don't know about the concubines. Maybe they were happy to have a man to support them and children to love. Clearly, there needs to be a pecking order that is agreed upon before the additional wives are considered, an agreement that they must agree to. Isaiah the Prophet talks about a time in the latter days which is now when so many mighty men of Israel die in wars (America, Judah, Britain, and some other countries where the lost tribes of Israel settled long ago) that seven women will take hold of one man and ask for his name only saying they will provide for themselves if only they can have his name and children. Polygamy is returning to the world because shortly a third of the people in the world will die in WWIII and 2/3 of the people in nations that comprise greater Israel. Amos the Prophet said only one in ten will survive in cities (that are targeted and nuked, I suspect), so there will be many women and few men. To replenish the earth, polygamy will abound.
32. King David was polygamous but he supported each wife or

concubine, something modern males seem reluctant to do. God's ideal plan for marriage is for two virgins to marry and stay married for life. But adding wives or concubines is allowed IF they are all supported financially. Not providing for one's own is denying the faith. King David supported (necessities not luxuries) every woman he married, took as a concubine, seduced or raped or divorced. Yes, he supported his ex-wife Michael, the daughter of King Saul even though he would not have sex with her after she was with another man he took her back from. Love pays the bills. It does not use women sexually and throw them away.
33. Who da oppressor?!?
Paqid Yirmeyahu ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (12.22.10)
Negev Committee for Women's Rights (NCWR) desires polygyny. NCWR makes not even the remotest hint of forcing Rawia Aburabia or the Association for Civil Rights in Israel (ACRI) to accept, embrace or become polygynist. By contrast, Rawia Aburabia and ACRI aren't satisfied with their currently absolutely protected right to reject polygyny for themselves, they insist on imposing their view on how everyone else lives their lives. Who authorized them to dictate??? The whole business of smearing polygyny with every imaginable evil is evil. Spouse neglect or abandonment is no more intrinsic to polygyny that it is to monogamy. Spouse abuse is no more intrinsic to polygyny that it is to monogamy. Child abuse is no more intrinsic to polygyny that it is to monogamy. Cheating on one's wife is ENORMOUSLY more rampant and intrinsic to monogamy (85%!!!), NOT to polygyny. For this reason, the spread of STDs and HIV is similarly far more intrinsic to monogamy than to polygyny. Those who prefer to marry monogamously certainly must be allowed to do so, as has always been the case; but no less importantly, those who prefer to marry polygynously--in cases of the unanimous consent of all parties involved--must also be allowed to do so. Rawia Aburabia and ACRI are the oppressors and have NO right to dictate and impose their views on others. Rina ,   Haifa Israel   (12.22.10)
From what I know about Arabs culture, that Arab's groom need to buy himself a wife. So this women who is 30 and was not married because? Maybe because no men wanted them. So how polygamy could improve their status, when they already was rejected? Maybe their family would start to sell 2 women for the one prise? One young and one not very young. This women would feel themselves as a second hand wives anyway. By the way from what I know Israel is a democratic country and in democratic countries women and man have equal rights. So if polygamy would be legalized women could have more than one husband too. Can any of you Imagen? One day you come home and there another men in your family bed with your wife. And he is not a lover, but very legal second husband. What poor kids would think about this kind of Sweden families. Marriage should be between one women and one man and not between couple women and one men or couple men and one women. If people want to sleep around, they shouldn't get married at all.

I am afraid you have lost your throne...to Rachel (USA). She is my new hero (yeah right, like I look for heroes on the talkback!). What I mean is I also like Rachel's way of thinking and writing...she is among the "gutsy ladies of YNet that include you of course and Birdi and now Rachel. Come on girls, the more the better, we have to teach the a--hles lessons now and then. Oh and I like how sneakily Salma is trying to advertise herself on the talkbacks when she writes" I am not Bedouin and I’m less than 30 : )" Is she trying to steal one of our Jewish souls for herself? In any event, polygamy is a sad way to live.
