zionist ,   US   (12.23.10)
If PM Netanyahy is doing what you say he is then why is there a construction boom in Judea & Samaria? Jews there are building as quickly as possible; is anyone from the government stopping them?
5. these rightists are
fady egypt   (12.23.10)
pathetic they are ungrateful to their prime minister and government how they accuse the pm of holding talks with hussein obama on giving up judea and samaria while bibi refused till now to give obama the borders of the palestinian entity and the construction is going on in a boom in judea and samaria so simply these rightists are politians or liars god bless bibi and israel shalom

7. This is funny
ktula ,   USA   (12.24.10)
Racists claiming they are not racists.
8. How dare you think you represent Jewish people.
noa ,   israel   (12.23.10)
The Torah, the Mishna and the Talmud do not promote this kind of thinking. And The Mayor of Nazereth banning Christmas trees. I am an Israeli citizen too. You and those low-life rabbis do not have a right to decide the face of the Jewish people. You cannot wipe out 5000 years of heritage. And I am not a Leftist. I am so, so Jewish according to your own rules.
9. This is the fringe right
Rachel ,   US   (12.24.10)
Even Shamir wouldn't be able to please them.
10. This Haredim-Settlers alliance gives the left a migraine
Schreiber   (12.24.10)
The left senses that the Haredim and the settlers are finding strong common ground in the political area and they don't like it one bit. This rally was as much to support the rabbis as to support the settlers and their right to build. Rabbis issued strong warnings to the Prime Minister against his plan to shrink the country. MK Ben Ari reminded people that Ben-Gurion, was a proponent of "Hebrew work" (avoda Ivrit) - the idea that Jews should do all of the labor in Israel and refrain from hiring others to do the more tedious, difficult or dangerous jobs. Were Ben Gurion alive today, Ben-Ari said - he would be reviled as a racist. For the longest time the Israeli left has used language not heard since the 1930s in Germany to refer to Jews who happen to be Haredi. It is virulent racist language, but they get away with it. Now I expect the vitriol against Haredim to intensify. This is getting political, the leftists think. This is bolstering the settlers' interests. This is threatening our plans to de-Judeize and shrink Israel. This is serious!!!! Pass those Aspirin! This migraine is killing me!
11. The first thing racists do...
David   (12.24.10)
The first thing a racist does is say they are NOT racist.
12. I don't begrudge Arabs any of their 22 nations.
Chaim ,   Israel   (12.24.10)
Is it right for a pauper to hand over his only shekel to a billionaire? That pretty much describes the situation regarding Israel and the Arab world. The Arabs have an immense, oil rich empire of 22 nations. We Jews have only one tiny nation, with little natural wealth. Yet we are expected to carve up our tiny nation to make yet another Arab nation. Is this fair? Is this even sane. I don't begrudge Arabs any of their 22 nations. However, they can't have any part of Israel. Israel belongs to Jews. Period.
13. There are many in the center that do not
jason white ,   afula,israel   (12.24.10)
want arabs for neighbors. Too bad the government only listens to the leftist demonstrations and the voices of our foreign "friends".
14. To NOA #8
Isaac Meyrson ,   Jerusalem   (12.24.10)
Sorry, Noa, but there is no place for you in Israel, even if you are Jew. This is the nation of the Jewish people, but not any Jew. We dont need high tech, we dont need trendy beaches, nice bars. We dont need the US, the international community. We dont need borders. We need religion and settlments. Its is our mission to expel not only Arabs from the land of Israel but also leftists and you are included among them. Pack you bag, take your family and go to America or Europe. We are the majority here in Israel and we will not rest untill all Arabs, Christians and Leftistis Jews are expelled forever from our beloved country.
15. It was a positive event, the rally
David ,   Philadelphia   (12.24.10)
Ben Yehuda was packed, all the way up to King George. Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Jacobson, a well known Chabadnik spoke eloquently about the insanity of giving away land. Ariel Zilber, Gadi Elbaz, Yishai Lapidot and Mendy Jerufi entertained. These weren't "crazy right wingers", these are people who love Eretz Yisrael and who are not willing to help anyone destroy the country by building another Arab country inside Eretz Yisrael.
16. #10 - Your ignorance is astounding
Mizrahi ,   London   (12.24.10)
1) Do you seriously believe that Netenyahu and Likud are sincere in reaching a settlement with the PA minus Jewish blocs in the West Bank? 2) If Ben-Ari did not have a racist outlook, why are there numerous examples to the contrary? His statement claiming that the leftists believe they should live separately negates the Haredi calls for segregated roads/buses, neighborhoods and of course the intrinsic belief of Yeshiva privileges. 3) Do you not find it a coincidence that this supposed Halachic edict that Jews cannot rent to Arabs has come about vocally in the current climate of anti-Arab sentiment? If someone here can prove examples of such calls from 30 years ago in Israel, then I willfully retract this point. 4) Please enlighten us how leftist language against Haredim is "racist"... I didn't know Haredim were a race. 5) I wonder what your point of view is concerning the arrests of the teens for attacking Arab members of the public. I'm sure there acts are not racist in your worldview, either
17. If they really believe this lie...
Ussishkin ,   Tel Aviv Israel   (12.24.10)
...it's over for us as a nation. The haredi community has grown in size and influence. The people of this country are paranoid and surprisingly ignorant of the mind games the haredim play - when they speak in the name of God. But it's not the God of Israel and it's not the God we know, it's the haredi version of God and it tramples on Our Torah and our Talmud and Our Tariyag Mitzvot. And through their twists and turns with these holy precepts they call for and support racism, and far too many paranoid and ignorant citizens fall for it. This is striking at the heart of our nation and what we believe and we have to stand up to these twisters and spinners of our holy texts. We have to take them back from these hi-jackers. Hitzilu Et Artzeinu!
18. We have the bible. Aren't you special? Now read it!
Josh   (12.24.10)
It pains me to say there is absolutely nothing special about these demonstrators. Run of the mill nobodies. They treat Torah as an object just like pagans. All pompusly running about calling out the book name as if that makes them in G-d's favor but not one cracking the cover to understand what G-d, not man, wants done with it. Here is a clue, you are suppose to read the thing and actually do G-d's will. "a light to ALL nations" So clueless! ...to their own peril and the peril of the nation. ...and if you think you are staying Israel? Aren't you just like just choose death refugees many who think a dead man is the Messiah and Babaylonian incantations are okee dokee? That stupid picture of that fool just bothers me so. You think after he died without any miracles or benefit for all of Israel, you would get a clue. The hotel bill is coming because there is not any way the curses wont boot choose death violators of Torah out of the land when checkout time comes. By the way, six days you shall work! How about reading the words that actually came from G-d and not the false additions you make day in and day out and follow ILLEGALLY? Jews are NOT allowed to follow false additions. It is a sin not to require authentication one is a prophet. This edict letter is against all history of Torah and you of all people should know it. It spits in Avrahams face and the Matriarchs. Cult won't save you. It is no excuse. Dear world, I do not in anyway condone this violation of G-d's Torah. It is injustice to blame all Arabs and Goy as they do. Please don't blame all Jews. We will sort it out. Racists in all nations need to be delt with using the justice system. Israel is no exception.

north Tel Aviv, Ramat Aviv. Everybody will be happy. Arabs will enjoy a permissive friendly enviroment, liberal jews will have nice neighbors. And as for the Rightists groups - they should strongly encourage such move. Shaheedit Tanya from central TA.
20. racist plus
Norman Gellman ,   Rehovot   (12.24.10)
If you think that the right is not racist, then you have no idea what is racialism. There needs to be a difference between illegal immigrants & asylum seekers. Only the government can grant asylum. However anybody ends up trying to live in our country we must follow humanistic rules. No less than thirty-six times in the Torah are the Jews enjoined to be kind to the stranger, to care for his needs and indeed to love him. The right tries to make us believe they are religious i.e. Torah observant but many times their actions tell us otherwise. Their cry against renting to non-Jews can only be a racist action.
21. every year this crowd gets angrier and angrier
Abe Froman ,   NY, NY   (12.24.10)
Damn hippies. I bet half of them are Americans, too, making at-best marginal contributions to the economy while demanding very expensive policies from the State. And I agree with the Rabbi's.
22. #20 Norman, being kind to strangers - Infiltrators
Concerned   (12.24.10)
It does NOT mean that Israel has to make itself responsible for taking in BILLIONS of unfortunate, poor, sick, persecuted or just plain adventurous non-Jews who decide to travel thousands of miles to get into this small country. It just doesn't make any sense from a religious or a practical point of view. The world created the UNHCR to take care of refugees. Why not let this international agency look after them and find them proper homes?
23. #11, I assume you refer to leftists, "rasisme free".
tanya ,   tel aviv israel   (12.24.10)
24. #14 Isaac
Madeleine ,   Israel   (12.24.10)
My goodness, what a miserable, anrrowminded person you are and what a miserable, narrow0minded country you want. Just religion and settlements. I'm all for religion and all for settlements, but we certainly need hi-tech, low-tech (any-tech) , beaches, bars (and no, I don't frequent bars myself), cafes, restaurants, trendy shops, theaters, cinemas as well as synagogues and yeshivas. Do you think that Israel copuld survive without international trade, without international tourism, without the vibrancy of entrepreneurship? You cannot exist on just religion and settlements, though both have their place in daily life. And shame on you for wanting to expel every non-Jew. I guess you were out there - in person or in spirit - with those rabbis and haredim.
25. # 14 is FAKE from top to bottom
Fakes denouncer   (12.24.10)
It even uses a surname similar to Golda's. And Isaac, such a typical Jewish name. Probably his real name is Abdul. It's fake, folks! Wasn't submitted by a Jew at all. Just wanting to portray a hysterical Jew wanting to expel everyone else. This does not reflect any of the political or religious attitudes in Israel. Nobody talks like that. Unmask the fakes!
26. Josh, You Forgot to Add That...
Nicole Czarnecki ,   B'HaGalut   (01.09.11)
The haredim's type of rhetoric is equivalent to the type of Sarah Palin's rhetoric that influenced a young man to murder six people and attempt murder against Representative Gabrielle Giffords.
