1. Ship of Fools
Ilan   (12.26.10)
I'm not sure that Turkey is sincere in stating that it wants to restore normal relations with Israel. Clearly they have put up a price that Israel is not willing to pay. If they think that celebrating the Mamra and its IHH terrorists will convince Israeli public opinion that we just must repair relations by humiliating ourselves and admitting to acting improperly by refusing to let the IHH thugs kill our soldiers then the Turkish government are not just fools. They are idiots.
2. Wow!
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.26.10)
Thousands awaiting at Istanbul. Oh, me oh my! Not exactly like thousands waiting at the port of Rotterdam, or Long Beach, or Charleston .... but go ahead. The port of Istanbul can use the income. Should have sent the vessel to Iskenderun, which is probably shut down by now for lack of work ..... Some of us actually know something about ports and shipping. Some of us actually know that Turkey's ports are in desperate straits, having lost 60 percent of their work. All that drydocking business gone to Eastern Europe. Everyone opting for Nicosia and Piraeus over Mersin. Turkey's maritime industry is in the toilet, circling the bowl. Paying a couple of thousand disinterested Turks to come out and cheer for the MAVI MARMARA isn't fooling anyone. Funny how the vessel was drydocked and repaired elsewhere! LOL -- yeah, Turkey's formerly robust drydocking industry is gone for good, and a significant portion of Turkey's shipping-related economy gone with it. Tee-hee. Oh well. C'est la vie.
3. The Buccaneers are back. limping but...
josef   (12.26.10)
The Pirate ship returns to it's lair, having succeeded in sniffing out the life of nine of it's outlaws. And of course, following islam's customs when death is involved; great pride, jubilee, feast, sweets will be there in abundance .Pagan rituals unrivaled in modern society.-- allah presiding! !
4. peace activist
alexa ,   israel   (12.26.10)
I am a little confuse . The turks tell us that the people on hte ship were peace activist .If so then is the call Death To Israel some new call for peace ? strange peace.
5. Israel will fall down on its knees to apologize
Madlen ,   germany   (12.26.10)
Since Theodor Herzl, Jews were always begging and serving to turkey!! Don't misunderstand me, i am not trying to insult you, but telling the truth. You guys have no sense of honor, this is well known since the ottoman empire and your bad behaviour against armenians and greeks. The turks know very well, how to use you!!
6. Dror Feiler ,you have a good conscience : )
Salma ,   Palestine   (12.26.10)
WE SALUTE YOUR HUMANITY .
7. # 2 Sarah the B - big liar ,Turkey's ports are at its best
these days !   (12.26.10)
8. Sarah dear stop smoking this stuff. Turkey GDP is 3 - 4 time
Ahmed ,   Istanbul   (12.26.10)
That of Israel. Turkey is one of the most successful economies in Europe and steadily gaining power. Its maritime industry doing just fine thank you. The US as well as the EU NEED turkey while both put up with Israel. Israel constitute one neighborhood in Istanbul. Wake up take a walk and breed some fresh air , I doubt it but perhaps that will cleans the poisonous twisted stuff flowing between your ears. And BTW – Turkey has nukes but nobody in his right mind would think of vaporizing Israel, it would probably take less than 1 bomb. Give a rest to this sick mind of yours already.
9. # 1
Tony ,   East Jerusalem   (12.26.10)
I think you are the fool.
10. Preparations are underway..
Nour ,   Palestine   (12.26.10)
Preparations are in top gear to return the Marmara along with 19 other large ships, accompanied by dozens of smaller boats, to the besieged Gaza coastal area. Hopefully this second flotilla will bolster the momentum towards freeing up Gaza totally from the shackles of occupation.
11. Akhm
John ,   Herzliya, Israel   (12.26.10)
Akhm, Madlen, have you ever heard about the fact that times are changing? Obviously not. But they are. And you can wait the Jews, with their country now, begging and serving the Turks, but I am sure that you will wait..and wait..and wait.. Btw, regards to Sarah B
12. And yes..
John ,   Herzliya, Israel   (12.26.10)
And yes, Dror, every person has rights. I just cannot see it written anywhere that any person has rights to send rockets to kill civilians. Any guidance, since obviously you are smart and righteous person?
13. Chanted "Allah is great". Same chant we heard on 9/11.
Cynic ,   USA   (12.26.10)

15. I think this is great, now Nato will have good reason
ghostq   (12.26.10)
not to have any Turkish apointments, especially after that.
16. YHWH
Ron ,   new york, usa   (12.26.10)
Long live forever God's dear children the sons and daughters of Jacob!!! May God richly bless Israel!!!
17. After turkish elections israel will apologize to turkey
Madlen ,   germany   (12.26.10)
John, I hope you are right, but i doubt it. After turkish elections in 2011 Israel will apologize to turkey and then israelis and diaspora jewcry will be more aggressive against the "arc-enemies" of turkey to please the turks. Israel is still begging for "normal relations" with turkey, but the turks ignores it. Is time really changing?
18. No No No
Harvey ,   London   (12.26.10)
Thats it - no way will I apologise now
19. #13 - yes God is always great . Don't you know that already!

20. to #10 every week palis get in gaza more
ghostq   (12.26.10)
food that they need, the only think they lack of is weapons from the obvious reasons, another flotila will cause yet another clashes with IDF which can cause Nato to interveven which might egnight mini war around, sound like the only think pali made is war.
21. to #8 you r not part of Europe nor you will
ghostq   (12.26.10)
ever be especially after supporting IHH an org that gives funding to Al queda, sorry to tell you but after hizb and Iran connection you r on your way to join Iran status and that embargo. as for NUKES and vaporizing, (lauphing) Israel got Arab population, you probably need to reconsider. hahahahaha
22. To: No. 10
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.26.10)
Well, that would be extremely foolish. Israel will issue one warning to turn about (assuming your "flotilla" isn't just another ersatz "Palestinian" flight of fancy) and if that order is ignored, the vessels will be sunk. Israel's blockade of Gaza is fully legal and internationally recognized. Sinking vessels in order to preserve a legal blockade is well within Israel's rights. I doubt it will come to that, because I think your "flotilla" exists in your imagination only, but you are welcome to find out. I hope you will be aboard the MAVI MARMARA, Nour, or does your valiance begin and end at the computer?
23. To Ahmed #8
Yosi   (12.26.10)
How many companies does Turkey have in US stock market :) .. You are comparing a 6 million country with 75 million country with GDP :)...smart move
24. #8 Ahmed
Albrecht Klein ,   Germany   (12.26.10)
We do not need Turkey in NATO and we definitively do not need it in EU. Get used to it and go to your friends from Iran, Syria et al.
25. To: No. 17
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.26.10)
With all due respect, I think you are completely crazy. There would have to be a weather change in Turkey's government following the 2011 elections -- one which will understand the sheer folly of demanding an apology from Israel. Given the current government in Turkey, Israel is not in the least bit interested in improved ties. Turkey is well on its way to becoming a rogue state sponsor of terror, just like its new best friends, Iran and Syria. No apology will be forthcoming, and no compensation to the families of the dead terrorists who sailed aboard the MAVI MARMARA. Iran, Syria and Turkey -- there's your new axis of evil.
26. To: No. 8
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.26.10)
Turkey is large, yes. So is Iran. Your point? Israel is small. So are quite a few countries in Europe with spectacular economies, just like Israel. Again, your point? How do you account for the fact that six of Turkey's largest shipping companies have gone belly up? How do you account for the fact that Turkey's formerly thriving drydocking business has disappeared. What do you think will happen when NATO boots out Turkey, and closes its bases in Turkey in favor of bases in the Greek Aegean, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and points east? Turkey doesn't have nukes. NATO doesn't trust Turkey enough to stock nuclear weapons on Turkish soil. How do you account for all those paid-for crowds chanting "Death to Israel" in Istanbul today? Give your sick, twisted and highly deluded mind a rest. Turkey's headed for bad times. Turkey's GDP is not at all good, and all the key numbers are in serious decline, while Israel's are increasing. Check the CIA World Factbook for numbers on the various world economies. And the loss of all those lucrative contracts for shipment of natural gas from Turkey to western Europe evaporated with the discovery of the world's second largest natural gas field off the coast of Haifa. Makes perfect logistic sense and financial sense for the Europeans. But Turkey has yet to get over it. Too, too, bad.
27. 23 - # of companies on the NY stock exchange is hardly
Ahmed ,   Istanbul   (12.26.10)
an indication of healthy and strong economy. There is strong Jewish lobby in the US as well as Jewish money. We saw what this stock exchange did in the last 2 years. it threw the world economy to the extent China, Russia, India and Brazil are the new powers. US is on its way down. Wise up boy.
28. The Ottoman empire
John ,   NYC, USA   (12.26.10)
Russia taught how to deal with both the Ottoman empire and 1000 years German Reich. As for Armenians and Greeks they love to hate both.
29. Sarah B @ no.2.
Jacob ,   Ashkelon   (12.26.10)
I always find it hilarious that you think you know something about everything when you are just probably a waffle waitress who knows how to use google - stop pretending that you know something about Turkish ports just because you stumbled across some news report. Try going back to collage and finishing your education!
30. population
John ,   New York, US   (12.26.10)
How do you compare a 75 million nation to a 1 billion nation? The next generation will be using sticks to eat halal shrimp and sushi.
