I suspect that I know considerably more about the Turkish economy than do you, and I assure you that Turkey's economy is circling the bowl. The Turks are looking at REALLY hard times ahead. Therefore you can not make a feair comparison based on country level GDP. Per capita GDP in Israel is $29,404 ranking 28. Economically troubled Greece follows in number 29 with a GDP of $28,833. Turkey is number 63 with a GDP of $13, 392. There is a huge poor population in Turkey that is in need of the AKP handout coal for heat and care packages of beans and other food items in exchange of votes during elections.
