4. Sorry, doesn;'t make sense
Israeli   (12.27.10)
What interest would we have in disrupting the Egyptian economy? The opposite is true: Israel has a direct interest in a strong Egyptian economy so the current regime stays in place and not the Muslim Brotherhood. And since when do we have the money or time to disrupt internet services, send sharks to Sharm, etc. seems like alot of work for no pay off.
5. Did Israel Sabotage Egyptian internet
JUDAH THE LION   (12.27.10)
Also Israel have sent the SHARKS to destroy tourist business. UNBELIEVABLE,how DAMN HEAD the EGYPTIANs can be
6. Mossad planted the shark at Sharm el Sheik
zionist forever   (12.27.10)
What logical reason is there for Mossad to try and bring down Egypts internet network? What does Israel get out of it, Mossad don't undertake operations like this just for fun.
7. More Israeli Espionage??
Anna K ,   Sydney, Australia   (12.27.10)
I guess we are also responsible for Egypt being in the top 10 for Google searches for 'animal sex', 'rape' and 'child sex'. Maybe we taught the sharks to access the internet?
8. #6
Non-Jew ,   England   (12.27.10)
Maybe the shark bit through the fibre-optic cables....
9. Sounds like one of the Egyptian soap opera drama!
David   (12.27.10)
Never mind, we forgive our Egyptian friends for making up these stories especially after the wikileaks cables have showed how intimate the relationship between us and the Egyptian regime. Hmmm, we understand your critical situation in front of your arab audiences. But until when you will depict us as an enemy to your people??? Why the hell you are always making us a scapegoat for your problems? Guys, just grow up and let us build together a civilized region. We can achieve a lot if we unite our energies behind a greater cause instead of wasting our time playing double games... What unite us as Jews and Arabs/muslims is greater than what unites the Europeans... This is a fact.
10. #9 David

David I must say that I take great happiness in reading your talkback. As much as my trust for Israeel is at times low and I am not happy with some of her actions, I do agree with your belief that together we can achieve a lot and improve the lives of our people if we unite. No egyptian will truly support Israeel until there is a just peace with the Palestinians and i hope this fday will come soon. In the meantime, we can and must work together because we do have a lot of mutual interests like peace and security and concerns about Iran. We must in Egypt learn to accept our own problems and stop blaming them on the Israeelis but onthis i think is just a tactic of the fear mongering people. We have in Egypt a strong secular and liberal class of people open minded and willing to befriend a similar class of Israelis which i know exists but im afraid that both sides are taken over by the extreme minds. I wish peace for the Israeelis and security and I wish it also upton the Palistinians. Then we can unite. Shalom
11. #10 - "Palestinians" have the same mentality
William ,   Israel   (12.28.10)
You've acknowledge a great problem in Egypt...actually, the whole Arab world, in their lack of self-responsibility and fear-mongering which allows them to blame Israel for everything. Countries which have taken action on their own failing and celebrated their own successes, and looked deeply into their own souls, have always been successful. Egypt can be this way. But for true peace in the region, "Palestinians" must too be this way and stop with the "death to Israel" rhetoric. However, even if they do move in this direction, the fact that the Arab world is not makes it easy for those fear-mongers or racists among "Palestinians" to ignore self-responsibility and find supporters in the Arab world. In other words, if your future success is to be achievable, you must not only fix yourselves but pressure others to do the same.
12. So Israel would cut the cable that delivers 1/3 traffic?
William ,   Israel   (12.28.10)
between ME and Europe? Pretty petty to destroy your own economy just to hurt an Arab neighbor...which is why this story is just crap like the yarns spun by Guardian and Telegraph. and just for good measure, Israel cut the cable off Dubai to stop traffic between Egypt and India.
13. Cutting Internet cable to add spying device but sharks???
Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, Texas   (12.28.10)
Cut underwater cable allows to get around security measures to add monitoring devise. Trained sharks is a joke but hungry sharks could be good to keep swimmers/divers in or out of Gaza.
