1. Whom knows the Israeli PM the best ?.
Orao. ,   Srbia.   (12.27.10)
On this festive occasion, Lieberman greatly embarrassed the prime minister; we can say he humiliated him, making him out to be an empty vessel without any diplomatic plan, and if he does have one, arguing that it will never materialize. We or the Israeli FM ?. Orao.
2. Bibi is weak and feeble
Rachel ,   US   (12.27.10)
Ivette shows courage and strength. He will be the next PM of Israel.
3. Eitan Haber
David ,   America   (12.27.10)
You had better be praying for a Premier like Lieberman, otherwise Israel will continue to be in the toilet. From where I sit, I can see the world opinion of Israel and it is not good. It is one thing to be criticized by the world for policy disagreements but it is another altogether to be scorned as weak and laughed at for being the worlds whipping boy! Israel needs to get a spine and Lieberman would be a giant step in the right direction. The fact is Mr Haber it is the leftist scum like yourself that is bringing Israel down.
4. THE RIGHT STUFF
LAWRENCE ,   SAFED ISRAEL   (12.27.10)
And Lieberman has it by the bucketloads . Bibi is yesterdays' news, sadly.
5. GOOD COP ,BAD COP
LAWRENCE ,   SAFED ISRAEL   (12.27.10)
Bibi and Lieberman ,but they make a good team.
6. The king is naked: this is the essence of the matter
Guido ,   Milano Italy   (12.27.10)
Everybody knows the real facts, but nobody dares to say things as they are. It takes the guts of a child or of a bizarre character named Liberman to speak the truth: the king is naked, is naked, is naked. Don't fool yourself.
7. Don't forget that Lieberman wants an Arab state
Howard K   (12.27.10)
Although we like what Lieberman says, we also liked what Netanyahu used to say. Words mean nothing. Netanyahu surprised us by accepting a Palestinian state. He's only concerned with "security" he says. Lieberman too will accept a Palestinian state, but under different conditions, with land and population exchanges. In the end, neither of them wants to to annex all of Judea and Samaria. But even if Lieberman got what he wants, a smaller Israel with an Arab state in what is now Jewish land would still put Israel in more danger than in keeping the present borders. Whoever succeeds Netanyahu must annex the land and worry about the demographics later. Jordan is Palestine.
8. Haber's transparent shilling for the left
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (12.27.10)
Haber holds his fire when Barak or Ben-Eliezer go off script to promote their own foreign policies, despite the fact they don't fall within their area of responsibility. And Netanyahu appointed them too. No, like most of his ilk, Haber has never wanted Netanyahu as Prime Minister, and they work full-time to undo that "mistake". The only reason Netanyahu should be "embarrassed" by Lieberman's comments is because they show Bibi's approach to be damaging and unworthy of a self-respecting nation.
9. When can I vote for Lieberman
M.J. Eizen ,   Petah Tikvah Israel   (12.27.10)
What I and many others love about Lieberman is that he tells the truth. Besides that he has guts. When can I vote for him? The sooner the better that he is our PM and we regain respect and deterrence.
11. I made a mistake....
Yosi G. ,   Israel   (12.27.10)
I should have voted for Lieberman.
12. not true
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (12.27.10)
Lieberman did not humiliate Netanyahu, Netanyahu humiliated himself. He gave his word that he would not extend the racist freeze against the Jews. But then, he came back from Washington and admitted that he lied in exchange for some goodies. Netanyahu chose to look like a cheap salesman in an expensive suit. To add insult to injury, Obama later clarified that Netanyahu was full of it and the Americans would not give him anything.
13. I will be happy for Lieberman
Rami ,   West Bank   (12.27.10)
At least Lieberman doesn't PRETEND to seek peace like all the other Israeli leaders like Netanyahu, Barak, Livni, and Peres. With Lieberman as PM, the World won't be fooled into believing that Israel wants peace by two-faced liars who make false proclamations for peace on one hand, and build illegal settlements with the other. Lieberman will reveal Israel's true face, and then we may move forward with a unilateral creation of the State of Palestine through the UN just as Israel was created in 1948.
14. Israel needs a P.M. who can stand up to Obama & other haters
Chaim ,   Israel   (12.27.10)
Lieberman is not my first choice for Israeli P.M. However, Israel needs a P.M. who can stand up to Obama and other haters. Lieberman has that going for him. We can't allow Israel to continue being Obama's doormat. It's time to mobilize Israel's countless millions of supporters worldwide and take an uncompromising stand against the Two State Final Solution. Once Israel officially denounces this abomination, we will grant our friends and allies the freedom to help us make sure it never happens.
15. Rami @ 13, it would appear that Jews and Arabs are happy for
leo ,   usa   (12.27.10)
the same reason. Such rare occasion. Viva Lieberman!
16. Lieberman's absence of tact is refreshing.
Steve Klein   (12.27.10)
Prime Minister Netanyahu is a skilled diplomat. A skilled diplomat is NOT what Israel needs at the moment. Israel needs a courageous truth-teller. Israel needs a leader that will tell the Americans and the world hard truths about the terrible threats the region and the world will be facing in the years to come. Israel needs a leader who is honest about the situation in Israel and the threats Israel faces from within. America currently has the absolute worse US president at this juncture in our history; a very dangerous man and the American people are asleep. There has got to be a blindness (a sickness) that permeates America that, as Michael Barone wrote this morning, "most Americans have favorable personal feelings toward (this) president." I'm not sure what kind of prime minister Lieberman would make. No matter how solid they seem to be, once in office they tend to morph into American lackeys and lap dogs. I enjoy Lieberman's frankness, when set against Mr. Netanyahu's pretensions that Israel will give away the store and then some if only the Palestinians are a little more forthcoming. Unfortunately, Lieberman and his party support territorial compromise. Even if Lieberman's stance is better than Netanyahu's, they are both on the same page when it comes to establishing another Muslim state in Israel's heartland. This would be a catastrophe for the Jews! Lieberman is in record supporting it nonetheless. How then can I trust Lieberman were he prime minister?
17. Not for sale !
Gabe Yakmore ,   Canada   (12.27.10)
No matter who is the Prime Minister, Judea and Samaria is not negotiable.
18. next premier
alexi   (12.27.10)
after the next war or major scuffle, lieberman will be elected the PM wiithout a doubt. Barak will be booted out of defence once and for all where he has not lived up to his commando ratings. Yaalon will be the next minister of defence. Gillerman or ayalon will be the next foreign miinister. Livni like peres will never be elected PM as her policies are totally untrustworthy as Peres' olso has been an absolute disaster for israel.Ashkenazi, a good chief of staff will find a home in the government. And Dagan will be brought back to deal with strategic affairs as he is a hero of israel. Haber, a follower of olmert, a corrupt crook, can visit him in jail where he headed for certain. As for ben eliezer, he was a good solider, a lousy defence minister, and like barak, he has to go because he advocates crawling before erdogan. Tell the bastards to their face that they are a pack of liars and terror supporters and you have a chance to come to an arrangement. Instead, barak and ben eliezer run around lying their teeth off about turkey's real intentions. They are in bed with the moslem brotherhood, that is who they are.
19. I voted for Lieberman twice ..
michael redbourn ,   Arad Israel   (12.27.10)
and many people than then criticized me are now ready to vote for him. How can you reach an agreement with anybody if all parties lie? I'm still not sure what I think about WikiLeaks, but I'd like to think that transparency is better than game playing.
20. I'll vote for lieberman
Phoenix ,   Israel   (12.27.10)
Lieberman has them not like bibi scary rat.
21. enough.... stop this writing about humiliation...
Dana Rothschild ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (12.28.10)
nobody is humilitating anybody.... bibi and lieberman are team, working together... I am sure it was planned together.... and both are right... bibi and lieberman will be great winners in the next elections.... enough of using this word, enough to criticizing bibi and lieberman all the time... haber and the israeli left has to understand, that they their time is over....
22. yes, lieberman is a leader.
eporue ,   europe   (12.28.10)
and bibi is not. that is, what makes lieberman looking so strong. only under such circumstances, someone like him can pop to the surface. lieberman can lead and has vision. he will lead you straight down the sewer... with a clear plan. no zig-zags. no doubts. he will have no trouble, to explain and justify every piece of muck, you hit on the way. you will understand, and follow him through the dark. unlike bibi, lieberman will be with you all the time. liebermann is leading to destruction. he isnt hiding anything, not beating around the bushes, and will stay at your side all the time, and even hold your hand. he is really dangerous - for you. this sounds all so familiar, doesnt it ?
23. nastrovje
eporue ,   europe   (12.28.10)
and when lieberman would be your PM... ...and incite, go for confrontation... do you think, that the US or any european ally can or would support you in a military struggle ? do you have the impression, he counts on any of them ? how comes ? how does he have such destructive visions, without any ally on the side of this tiny country ? he would give you to the russians.
24. Muslim Pretend Pals world's least effected Refugees.
BUTSeriously ,   Sydney   (12.28.10)
Israel must cease legitimising the EU and UN notion of Muslim refugees in Palestine - these people have more options & facilities than any other peoples in Geo-History. Muslims are also the last group who need more land: they must give land to the Jews, Coptics, Kurds and Lebanese Christians - groups who are older than both Islam and Arabs in Arabia. Israel must call out the candy coated genocidal demands pursued against her.
25. To # 10, a question
Jerri i ,   NYC   (12.28.10)
Are you saying that : To be diplomatic=to be a court Jew?
26. Great Prime Minister Lieberman
Ethiopian Muslim ,   Blue NileEast Africa   (12.28.10)
Ethiopians (both muslim and christian) praise Avigdor Lieberman for his comments reguarding Egypt: ‘ # In 1998, Lieberman called for the flooding of Egypt by bombing the Aswan Dam in retaliation for Egyptian support for Yasser Arafat. This is indeed a great solution, with Israel and Ethiopian cooperation and defense agreements, we can be sure to destroy Egypt. remember: Egyptian "government" might have a peace agreement with you, but 80 million egyptians don't recognize your existence! Viva Liberman From Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
27. UGH
Ron ,   USA   (12.28.10)
Lieberman did not humiliate Bibi. He castigated, deservedly, the PM and FM of Turkey, not all Turks. Turkey and Pals are not the whole world. Get some realistic perspective and stop your continuing bombastic shrill vapidity. Lieberman spoke at his political party conference. Others have done the same, including Livni who spews feeble intentional insults at Bibi, which Haber does not find unseemly.
28. #3 David, apparently you cannot handle...
Rafi ,   US   (12.28.10)
....any views or opinions that do not correspond to your own... How else can your extreme reactions be explained? Under the circumstances, the best remedy for you may be to avoid reading the "OPINION" portion of Ynet and other publications. It has been known to cause severe, irrational reactions in some patients...
29. Must have been a great speech as Ynet quoted nothing
Bruce Stein ,   Chicago   (12.28.10)
Not a word of the speech quoted or referenced or linked! He must have really told the truth....
30. Lieberman is Israel's Sara Palin.
Dave   (12.28.10)
Both have zealous right wing base that is being boosted by every silly speech they make. Both do not attract and majority of their populations and both have zero chance to get elected to the number one spot in their respective countries.
