5. If there are true Jews they have a home Its called Israel
Al   (12.29.10)
No one is forcing them to stay in the hell called the FSU. They have a home in Israel where they would be welcomed. Thank G-d there is an Israel today..Were there one in 1933 maybe things would have turned out better for European Jews.

9. 2011 = biggest year for aliyah ever?
Dan ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (12.29.10)
There's no reason for these people to stay in the FSU if they're suffering. Why isn't ISRAEL organising mass aliyah for them, like they're doing with the Ethiopians? Bring them all home, there's plenty of space!
10. Bring them back to the Land of Israel
Brod ,   USA   (12.29.10)
Prophets Isaiah, Ezekiel, Jeremiah and Amos prophesied that GOD would restore the Jews from Diaspora back into their Ancient Land of Israel. It is time to bring these remaining Russian Jews back to their own homeland-Judea and Samaria-Land of Israel.
11. An emergency airlift is required!
Chaya ,   Tel Aviv   (12.29.10)
If the Falash Mura could be brought here, these people should!
12. Jewish aid
David ,   NYC   (12.29.10)
Jewish aid does not go to jews. Rather it goes to residents of harlem, Barack Obama's campaign headquarters, arabs in gaza and wonderful establishments such as Betselem
13. Come to Israel, what are you still doing there?
Soviet Jew ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (12.29.10)
14. I dont understand
Mark ,   New York USA   (12.29.10)
How come that those Jews from Russia did not emigrate to Israel or any other country where they would receive minimal social support? Do not tell me that they are too old. The process of emigration started in the beginning of 70-Th.
15. Pogo: We have found the enemy and it is us.
Solomon ,   Bklyn   (12.29.10)
The reality is as explained. Those who ask these elderly to come to Israel as a panacea are avoiding the reality. They live in the CIS, they are too old or sick to travel and can't afford it anyway. They are too old to lose lifetime friends, or start over in a new country where they will also be ignored (the poor in Israel don't fare so well either). By asking why this, why that, we become those referred to with words of the article: "I don't understand how no one comes to help them." In Israel or not, they are Jews. We are the "no one's"
16. MR eckstein, you need to ask MR
Pal ,   Jerusalem/Palestine   (12.29.10)
Hauffman ,in Cleveland Ohio ..he is the head of your federation in Cleveland ..and his gives himself a salary of 678,000 $ .!!!!!!!! why don't you start with your own crooks befor inviting people to our houses ...or God said that it is ok to steal our land and our money as well . some one said bring them home ,there is a lot of room here .!! this man will have a real reality check in 2011 when we have a one state or a two states solution and a real borders for either . enough is enough ..
17. #16 Room in Rub al Ghali for your one state
Alan ,   SA   (12.29.10)
18. They should come
Yakov ,   Somewhere   (12.29.10)
At the very least, it will be much warmer then where they are now. Do be aware they will have to adjust to a new country and culture. If they have family, that much the better. If not, they will need all the support they can get so they are not in Israel and once again alone.
19. Mr
M.Gerald fried ,   Skokie Illinois USA   (12.30.10)
There are no people called Palestian, they are Arabs. There is no country called Palestine. The Arabs have no legal right to Any part of jerusalem. There are already 28 Arab countries an a state called Jordan which is 75% Palestian Arabs. How many more Arsb states do we need? When Jordan conttrolled Jerusalem no Jews where allowed do we need a repeition of this?
20. from one rotten jew, to another rotten jew
josef   (12.30.10)
If this stupid govt of ours was to eliminate the 40+ millions they steal from israelis for the worthless haredim and gave it to the needy kids for schools, meals, education, then at least one crisis would be averted. PS: if the info is correct; Mr Hoffman head of Cleveland's Ohio Federation gived himself a salary of 678.000.00$ a year or 13.038.00 dollars a week, then my faith in judaism is dissipating fast.( coulam ganavim)
21. Rich of Toronto is right.
Eshkol Hakofer   (01.01.11)
this story stinks on many counts: 1- what with the oligarchs and their chabad rabbis friends? 2- R' Yechiel Eckstein's agenda is weird and suspicious at best. He specializes in shnorering from Christians. Why? On whose behalf? He even collects from Christians for the millions of poor in the miraculously successful economy of Israel. Huh?!
22. Ora no. 7: they will not go...
Eshkol Hakofer   (01.01.11)
they will never bring them to israel. a- Russia is another profit centre for them, run by a separate set of franchisees, than the Israelis among them. b- their former (now deceased rebbe) taught them that wherever they are, be it katmandu, bangkok, india or sdom they should: "Macht Du Eretz Yisrael" - Make it Eretz Yisrael, there u shall dwell, make your living and convert jews to their faith. c- they are not into zionism, they are into preaching their variance of faith!
23. If the Falash Mura could be brought here...
Eshkol Hakofer   (01.01.11)
the falash mura want to come, these people evidently, don't maybe many of them are intermarried and love their spouse and kids. some of them may have come to israel and returned. many of the chabadnik attached to each one of them, may be israelis tat did yerida, to live in mussia, make their parnassa there, and convert those jews left here to their messianic religion.
