1. any chance he'll be deqalt with as other rapists are?

or will he get a 5-star room far from the rear-reeping crowd.

Many convicted rapists have received too light a sentence. Hopefully, this time, justice will be seen to be done and Katsav will be put behind bars for a lengthy period. Would-be sexual offenders should be left ion no doubt that if convicted they will be dealt with harshly.
3. iam not a katzav fan nor any rapist
(12.30.10)
and iam for the death penalty conviction of all rapists , but i think this case was far more than just a rape case , and not because of the convict being a presedent . but to me this was a case of revenge that was planned from the begining , its everyones guess to decide who planned all this . but for sure someone did .....

1. Since this was a long time, continuing offense, why didn't the media report on it? 2. It is unseemly to have a former president in prison. To some it may be the symbol of equality of justice in Israel, to others it is an advertisement of a corrupt political system. Surely some of the people who chose him to be president had to know about his proclivities.
5. handling of katsav trial
miri ,   miamiusa   (12.30.10)
to no. 4: this has ben reporting meticulously by the Israeli media. norhing was covered up. except respectfully the victim's names. the USA would do well to emulate the way Israel handled this tragic situation.

Thanks to this case, Shimon got a nice job.
7. #5 For how long?
Sidney ,   USA   (12.30.10)
The question is not about the coverage after the charges were made. The question is about all those years before and during his presidency. 'A's close friend, Yaron Armuza, who was with her when she heard the news, told Ynet that "a decade-long nightmare has reached its end".' "The verdict came a year-and-a-half after the start of his trial and 12 years after he allegedly committed the first of the offenses with which he was charged."
8. Remove all benefits. He deserves nothing from the state...
David ,   Hartford USA   (12.30.10)
except a 2 x 3 meter cell. The man disgraced Israel, the office of the president, his family, the whole Jewish world. I don't think the state would consider his rapes of this woman as 'earning his benefits.' After he serves his jail time, let him sweep sidewalks for a living. NO benefits for convicted criminals. Period. Maybe that will be the only thing that makes other high officials keep their zippers zipped.
9. Katsav deserves something from the state
Eli ,   Israel   (12.31.10)
Katsav deserves free room and board for at least a decade; special clothes too and the company of all other convicted rapists in that period.
