1. Exposing names would warrant the death penalty as that is
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (12.30.10)
what the "spies" would get. It is one thing to expose stupid behavior and far different to get people killed.
2. Khomeini also works with the C.I.A.
Jake ,   USA   (12.30.10)
If this guy doesn't leak info connecting Khomeini's regime to the CIA, you can be sure he is working for the U.S.
3. Mr. Assange, please tell us...
Persian CAT   (12.30.10)
something new, will ya?
4. Ass-ange
Aed ,   london   (12.30.10)
I still dont understand what is this guy after??? He already ruined his life? nothing changed, and nothing will change. He keeps threatening with new documents but they are not coming out,, what was the point of all this???
5. It's well known already...
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (12.30.10)
The fact is many Arab leaders help the U.S. and the C.I.A., as well as Israel and the Mossad, if not directly then indirectly (when it comes to Israel). But the penalty is death both physical and political. Especially helping Israel. Egypt openly helps Israel with the blockade in Gaza, but at the same time make's a ton of money helping with the smuggling tunnels. So they work both sides of the street. But as I've stated many times before, the Arab/Muslim leaders fear the "Arab Street" because of the hate their country teaches. They have created a Frankenstein, and fear the monster may turn on them. It is well known that was how Arafat amassed his billions of dollars. It was blackmail money paid to Arafat to keep the terrorism away from their countries.
6. The most dangerous man in the world
John   (12.30.10)
Assange is absolutely the most dangerous man in the world. It's simply amazing what megalomaniacs will do at the expense of others. Make no mistake, this is no whistle blower. Whistle blowing entails putting moral convictions over personal gain. This man is simply insane.
7. Maybe he will reveal...
E ,   Canada   (12.30.10)
It is well known among some Expats in Saudi that the Arabs have ruined their vast oil reserves through inept practices. When the king reassures the West he will "open up the taps" in a time of crises, the expats exclaim in frustration: “Which Taps?” Further, the Saudis have no money to increase their exploration, what with the royal family taking the lion’s share of the profits and much of the rest embezzled in various ways by the many department VPs and their friends. It is pretty sad that the largest oil company in the world has to enter into joint ventures with foreigners (Chinese, etc) to explore new potential fields; all the more so given they don’t buy the oil rights, don’t compensate locals for oil spills and contaminated drinking water, have some of the cheapest day rates and drilling materials in the world (bulk buying/low wages), and have almost no environmental safety rules to follow! Yet they are broke.
8. When will they already kill this guy?
Alexander ,   NJ USA/Israel   (12.30.10)
Seriously, I'm shocked that he's made it this far. I wonder what country will pull the hit on him first... I hope he doesn't get assassinated though, I wanna know more about the two faced Arab world.
9. #3
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (12.30.10)
I doubt Assange is talking about Egypt and Saudi Arabia which are CIA sponsored dictators. He probably has the names of some Syrians.
10. #6 Moral convictions are a personal gain too
emc   (12.30.10)
Why else would anyone hold them? As far as I know, Assange has strong moral convictions - transparency and fairness. And by the way, WikiLeaks can function independently of him, so it is irrelevant whether he is dangerous or not.
11. Been wondering the same, #8
Cameron ,   USA   (12.30.10)
It will be interesting to see how that strange, malevolent piece of work will be "de-commissioned". Talk about the world's biggest walking target. Digital martyr?
12. Let's face it - Assange is not the one to blame
Dan S. ,   USA   (12.30.10)
It's all these lying politicians and leaders who say one thing and do another and who are doing things behind closed doors who are finally getting caught with their panties down. The fact is you cannot lie to everyone and not expect it to come back to haunt you. If those exposed end up getting bumped off, so be it. State secrets - fine, but if any government and its agents had any measure of competence, these documents wouldn't be able to be leaked.
13. Assange choosing wrong scheme to protect his life
Joe ,   Canada   (12.30.10)
If he is believing he can secure a contract to spare his life by blackmailing high level politicians & autocratic leaders he is certainly taking the wrong approach. He has already lost most of his bargaining power by these revelations & all the previous ones. Now he is going to be the target of a great number of the victims of his deeds who will not only seek revenge but more importantly will want to set an example of the punisment they think will discourage copy cat followers. His indiscreminate revelations have put the lives of too many powerful individuals at risk to let him hope he will come out scott free.
14. #2 is 100% correct
USA   (12.30.10)
Every one knows Hezbollah and Iran has CIA links. That guy Ahmadinejad has a freedom to talk from CIA abot America and Israel.
15. Assange' intent - to embarrass and undermine the US
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (12.30.10)
Assange's contempt for the US is on record. His hypocritical desire for "transparency" and openness not only doesn't apply to his own affairs, but it doesn't apply to authoritarian states at all. Where are the internal documents from Russia or China, the Arabic or Islamic worlds?
16. Julian Assange
Spencer ,   Israel   (12.30.10)
Julian Assange, founder of the whistle-blowing website WikiLeaks is digging his own grave. This latest statement of his shows that the sooner he and his organisation is silenced, the better for the free world.
17. Playing With Fire: A Dangerous Man
iNet Fraud ,   United States   (12.30.10)
This man needs to be shut down by any number of nations by declaring him an "enemy of the state". He is revealing secrets from STOLEN documents which under international law should be deemed illegal. It endangers lives and WHOLE NATIONS! This is NOT about "freedom of speech", which has LIMITS in ALL nations, including the US. Sensitive materials that could harm any countries legitimate national interests or security should NEVER be allowed in the hands of any individual who is not beholden to International guidelines on ethics or obligations. The founder of Wikileaks is nothing short of an ego-maniac. How he has NOT been arrested, his property seized, his cohorts locked up and all sensitive information put back into the hands of it's host countries is insane. This man is not just playing with fire: he could start entire wars, let alone murders! Hopefully, this sociopath will be in solitary for the rest of his life soon. This is no joke nor is it a boon for the "we have a right to know" yahoos out there. Unfortunately, most people don't know how to handle the ugly truth and such truth in their hands is a danger to the whole of humanity. Let's face it; most people are not as smart as we wish they were. ARREST this sick bastard NOW!!!
18. If the governments weren't so corrupt...
Jake ,   Honolulu, USA   (12.30.10)
Actually, he is exposing the dark sides of "democracies" worldwide. This is a good thing. Corrupt government heads of state should NOT be allowed to remain in office. They should be held to the same standards as the people they supposedly look after and represent. I support his and any persons who go about showing governments for the corrupt states they are.
19. Now Arabs and other Muslims will be after him too....
Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, Texas   (12.31.10)
and they won't be as gentle as the US and Israel have been with him. I know this because I am the Best World Affairs Expert in Training. My Tex-Mex Burrito Crystal Ball still informs me Obama reelected and it is always right even if Obama will not be reelected. It is all true, I only report the way I see it with 100/100 vision through Al Jazeera colored glasses 8000 miles away from Middle East. BLOODYTHIRSTY SCOT GREATEST EXPERT OF TEX-MEX BURRITOS, ENCHILADAS, FAJITAS, MIDDLE EAST, FAR EAST AND NOW HUMAN RIGHTS IN MUSLIM COUNTRIES!!!!!! DALLAS, TEXAS
20. #3 persian cat Are You Saying

21. to mark
ann   (12.31.10)
well said mark!! u seem to have a lot of insight into the mid east politics
22. Wikileaks and Arab leaders
C Carnes ,   San Antonio, USA   (12.31.10)
Corruption, deceit, fraud, lying, selling out others for money and fame, corruption to the highest degree exists within all governments and that is pathetic. To think "we" the people have to stand by and allow such idiots to be in places of leadership - leading people to their deaths, preaching doctrines which they do not even believe in themselves such as Islam (they know it is not truth) but they use it to keep people in control and their servants. Islamic cultural Muslims need to "vacate" their belief which was "fabricated" by so-called political leaders who wanted to control people, make them slaves, and also "use" them in many ways to uphold their power and riches! Wise Muslims will "get out" and turn against the entire leadership of the Islamic world and create a more reasonable "faith" to follow, one which is not set up by a radical "political/social" man and men who use "women" as pawns and tools, children as tools and abuse them, and make the people "think" they are doing God a service. What a farse! This is not to say many other "religions" do the same things to some degree, except today, it is more prevelent in Islam in the sense it is being used to cause "murder" and chaos in the world at present. The Vatican for instance has been and is still seeking to control leaders and political people for their own gain. They makes threats a person in high power is in danger of losing eternal life and going to hell if the person doesn't "submit" to the Pope and Roman Catholic doctrine. On and on it goes, crazy, mad and insane, power hungry money motivated men use "religion" to keep people as slaves and vassels for their own purposes! The masses of people need to rise up and say no more. Enough of this rotten stuff! Move religion out of the arena of poltiics and also, use a more simple faith in a power above in a personal manner and let the "world" of politicls and social issues be led by "honest" respectible and ethical people! Leave religon out of it all together! That is the hope of the world and will bring about peace!! Let it begin!! By the way, this is NOT racist, this is not "hate" propaganda, this is just common sense talk and reasonable challenges to those involved. Let us have freedom to discuss REAL issues and not cover up facts and truths by "hiding" things under the "guise" of racism or biased hate speech so called! Let us be honest and factual! Opinions are important and if we didn't have them you would not even be able to have this site or any press or any freedom at all.
23. BOBC
Sidney Reeper ,   Phoenix, AZ, US   (12.31.10)
Mr. Assange - For crying out loud, get us the skinny on BO's birth certificate. What is the secret that caused BO to hire a team of lawyers to hide his BC. Is Frank Marshall Davis, the communist, really his father? Please find out. You obviously have "friends" in high places.
24. Goodbye yellow Brick road

28. It seems he's still only "revealing" open-secrets
Devasahayam ,   Falls Church VA, USA   (12.31.10)
That Arab nations are goondacracies has long been known (as well as the fact that Islam has generally proven incompatible with democracy--but only with degenerate monarchies and Robespierrean dictatorships).
29. a fool, a dolt, an idiot made 'self judge; blood on his head
