Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (01.03.11)
Hamas with its BDS collaborators have developed this new terror. A seemingly unarmed terrorist attacks soldiers. If they defend themselves and kill him, they are accused of war crimes and dehumanized. If they don't stop him, he grabs a gun and kills them.

1985: egyptian policeman Suleyman Khatir shoots at a group of tourists in the Sinai, killing 7, maiming 9. March 13 1997, palestinian soldier Ahmad Daqamsa shoots at a group of hiking schoolgirls along the Jordan, killing 7 children. They were both judged, released and enjoy a hero status.

when shot he refused to lay down. I would have shot him, I and would have hoped my friends could back me up. Since when is carrying a glass bottle at a ''protest'' unarmed? this can only be used for stabbing or firebombing.

You have the gall to tell us how we should or should not act/defend ourselves. America has never, ever had its shores threatened, or its citizens threatened by outside enemies (of course you now have home-grown terrorists - good luck with them). When have American citizens in New York, Los Angeles, Washington etc., etc., ever had to fear from enemy attacks on its shores. Even in WWII America was not attacked, only American interests, property, armies in Pearl Harbour (this had Californians quaking at the thought of a Japanese attack!) and the Pacific - far cry from the Homeland. So until you know what it is like to live with terror and potential terror on your doorstep on a daily basis, don't you dare to judge our soldiers, who do a terrific job often under the grimmest and most difficult circumstances. Just as in any other decent army, there are those who are a little too ready on the trigger, often out of fear or uncertainty at the situation. Our wonderful IDF us as human as the next army, and more humane than many.

anytime a jewish settler approaches a palestinian farmer with anything that can hurt him, the palestinian farmer has the right to "defend" himself and dont cry antisemitism if a jewish thug gets hurt
38. shot at the man's upper body

the man must have been too neutralized to be shot again. was it the fault of the first or the second shooter?

You have obviously never seen footage of children in Gaza being taught to hate Jews, spewing the ugliest sort of venom about Jews, the hatred these kids are taught is galling. The world doesn't care because we only ever see this tv footage in Arabic. What they say in english is exactly waht the West wants to hear. When you see tv footage of babies and toddlers dressed up as jihadis, toting toy(?) guns, you know why they are all so ready to turn themselves into suicide bombers. People like you just don't h ave a clue as to the reality of the situation here in Israel.

((You have the gall to tell us how we should or should not act/defend ourselves)) Yes. First, our taxpayer dollars are spent for your self-defense, not to kill unarmed people who poses absolutely no threat to you or anyone. ((America has never, ever had its shores threatened, or its citizens threatened by outside enemies)) I have to disagree with you there. We've taken attacks from the British, Mexicans, and native Indians (much as you're facing attacks by native Palestinians). When you take other people's land and call it your own, don't expect them to sit still and allow you to claim more. ((Even in WWII America was not attacked, only American interests, property, armies in Pearl Harbour (this had Californians quaking at the thought of a Japanese attack!) )) This is not f****** world war 2! Quit comparing these times to those times. You really want a third world war? You want the state of affairs that existed in those days to be repeated in these days? Even now you are planning wars here and wars there. Now you're looking for an excuse to start a war... my taxes at work! ((So until you know what it is like to live with terror and potential terror on your doorstep on a daily basis, don't you dare to judge our soldiers, who do a terrific job often under the grimmest and most difficult circumstances.)) Please. You lost more people to friendly attacks and that big fire you caused than all the terror attacks you claim is haunting you this year. On the other hand, hundreds of Palestinians are killed every year, the majority of them civilians like this man who pose no threat to you. You call this self-defense? You call a man without a gun or a bomb a terrorist? ((Just as in any other decent army, there are those who are a little too ready on the trigger, often out of fear or uncertainty at the situation)) Decent armies don't impose pariah state conditions anymore. They don't build checkpoints to daily abuse, and in this case, kill average Palestinians. And no, I have to disagree: a civilized army that empties over a dozen bullets INTO THE UPPER BODY of a person who is already neutralized is not a civilized army. ((Our wonderful IDF us as human as the next army, and more humane than many)) Wonderful to kill unarmed people eh? Wonderful to impose a military dictatorship on these people, eh? I wish my politicians could open their blind eyes and pull the $3 billion a year plug that is causing nothing but destruction.

Seventeen Afghani civilians perished this morning in a NATO air strike. The pilots were probably American. I'm telling you this so that you can maintain your running total. I haven't checked the number of Iraqi civilians killed in U.S. bombing runs in 2011, but I'm sure you'll do that, right? Or do you only care about what happens in Israel? I'm sure that's the case -- where are your tears and hand-wrenching for the 19,346 dead Afghani civilians in 2010? For that matter, where are your tears for the 16,842 dead Iraqi civilians in 2010? Heaven only knows how many civilian deaths in Waziristan and Pakistan NATO racked up, but I'm pretty sure it's considerable. You should be grateful I'm not counting further back. That's a big death toll for one year, bubbeleh, and you have not said one single word about them! Can it be that you just don't care about dead bodies unless they are ersatz "Palestinians?" That makes you a hypocritical slug, doesn't it? Wow! Tell us something we didn't know!

If you're going to quote Shakespeare, please get it right. The actual line is "Cowards die many times before their deaths; the valiant never taste of death but once." It's from the play "Julius Caesar." Get your act together (no pun intended).

Um, when did you have attacks by the British? Wasn't it the War of Independence in 1777? And you say I shouldn't talk about the second World War. all I'm saying is that you Americans, living within american shores, have no idea what it's like living with daily threats, surrounded by people whose declared aim, as per their charter, is to annihalate us. In Araic they talk about liberating Palestine "from the river to the sea", meaning from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean, i.e getting rid of all us Israelis (and if you want to know about "Palestine" then google San Remo treaty 1922, which has been discussed many times on these talkbacks). Have you ever seen them on tv screaming - in Arabic again - about liberating Haifa, Tel Aviv, Hadera, all coastal towns and don't come into the equation at all? And since when does a deadly weapon have to mean only a bomb or a gun? Wake up! Any heavy or sharp object can be a deadly weapon. You just don't hae a clue, do you? And as for the American army in Afghanistan, particularly, how many innocents have you shot up by mistake? A hospital, a wedding party (they were shooting in the air to celebrate, but since you Yanks don't even come close to understanding the mentality of these people, you wouldn't have known), and the American response? "Oh sorry, mistake". You are pathetic.
46. # more of your tax $ go to the PA than to Israel
rebecca ,   Modiin   (01.03.11)
both directly and thru the UN. If you dont want your tax $ wasted, do something. You've taken attacks, from native Americans... You wiped them out!!! It might not be WW2 but it is war. Ask the people who were near the twin towers when they were attacked. Bet a lot of them are suffering PTSD. What exactly are friendly attacks - when Arab men convince our underage kids to marry them? Yes Arabs are killed daily, honor killings, bad driving, attacking their own women. We kill very few. As your own US army commanders - Israel has the most decent army in the world. When someone takes a broken bottle to your or your child's neck, tell me they are unarmed.

How many innocent Jewish civilians have to die before I am allowed to hate "Palestinians?" Hmm? Have you ANY idea how many innocent Jews have been murdered by "Palestinian" terrorists? Any idea at all? Read here; get a clue: http://lindasog.com/public/terrorvictims.htm http://www.adl.org/israel/israel_attacks.asp

Silly you. It IS our land. It always has been. Even before Israel defeated the Arabs in six wars. That should be enough for everyone, don't you think? Do you hear Germans sobbing about reclaiming East Prussia (which is a part of present-day Poland)? No, of course not. The Germans lost World War II, and they lost roughly 25% of their territory as a result. Similarly, Italy -- part of the Axis -- lost Istria to then-Yugoslavia (present-day Croatia). Get a life, already! How many wars does it take until you appreciate the fact that the ersatz "Palestinians" are a vanquished people? How many?

So, who's responsible for the huge civilian body count racked up in Afghanistan, Iraq and Waziristan? If any Afghanis, Iraqis or Waziris attacked the United States, I must have missed it. Please enlighten me, and explain why tens of thousands of Iraqi, Afghani and Waziri civilians are now dead, thanks to indiscriminate United States bombing. And I promise I will not mention all the dead Vietnamese civilians or even the four million dead German civilians thanks to United States bombings. I won't mention all those dead Japanese civilians thanks to the firebombing of Tokyo, Hiroshima or Nagasaki. I promise! I won't say a single word about all those millions and millions of dead civilians. Nary a word! I can't wait to hear your excuse, though. It won't be creative, but I don't expect much from you, so have at it. I'm waiting.

yes, the native americans tried to protect their lands. but you forcefully murdered them all, took their lands, settled these lands with the white man and put all those native amrficans in concentration camps called resefrvations. may i remind you that you yourself and your own home is situated on land that is not yours. GIVE IT BACK. THEN WE CAN TALK.
