1. of Yosef Sholom Elyoshiv and members of the haredi Beit Din
Eshkol Hakofer   (01.05.11)
it was said in our holy theuyre: en. 13:13 and the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners against hashem exceedingly.
2. They should cancel all exemptions for these haredim
Dan S. ,   USA   (01.05.11)
Seriously, they should cancel all military exemptions for haredim and draft every last one of them. And cancel these allowances (perennial welfare) that give them the ability to spend all their time babbling and protesting one thing or another. Time to get a JOB.
3. Like it or not, a conversion is null and void if.....
Jake ,   USA   (01.05.11)
.....the convert does not take on Torah & Mitzvot. I do believe there is more to this story than is published here, because Rabbi Amar is quite respected as a Torah leader, and would never approve of something so obviously forbidden.
4. What ia a convert?
Norman Gellman ,   Rehovot   (01.05.11)
The Torah does not contain any conversion requirements. The first known convert is Ruth in the Book of Ruth. All the rules, complications, classes etc. came afterwards and were usually developed to prevent some perceived danger to the Jewish people. Therefore, claiming that recognizing any type of conversion as being against the holy torah is just not correct. What is really at stake is the usurpation of power from the chief rabbinate. Due to our unfortunate history we should let anyone who wants to be a Jew be a Jew, his commitment to religious practice should be a matter of personal choice not a forced requirement.
5. #1 from the filthy mouth of Eshkol Hakofer
Abe   (01.05.11)
one cannot expect anything better than some vulgar smutty posts.
6. These bulletins were probably endorsed by the Rabbis
Abe   (01.05.11)
Haredim wouldn't print it without the consent of the Rabbis. The Rabbis understand that if G-d forbid the IDF conversions goes through, the Jewish nation will be flooded with goyim because the IDF conversion is no better than Reform or Conservative conversions. Non-Jew cannot become Jewish just because they serve in the Zionist army, an army that is as far removed from the Torah like the Reform and Conservative movements.
7. #4, what a naive position you have
Jake ,   USA   (01.05.11)
Let everyone be a Jew? Why, so that it would be harder for Hezbollah to annihilate us? They wont need to annihilate us if anyone and everyone was able to fill an application and become"Jewish". Our heritage (and our state of Israel) would be assimilated into oblivion. Ruth was a God fearing non-Jew who wanted to join the nation, and upon doing so accepted the yoke of a Torah lifestyle. The Israeli government does not need to "usurp" power from the rabbinate. They granted the rabbinate power in the first place. Despite the anti-religious sentiments of most original Zionists, even they conceded that the Rabbis know best when it comes to certain things, such as conversion.

"Haredim wouldn't print it without the consent of the Rabbis." How little you know of them, then. Small groups of 'zealots' put stuff like this all the time. The Chareidim in general ignore them, because they, unlike you, know that most likely they are forgeries.
9. Nut
(01.06.11)
Some talk about conversion like a invasion or an assimilation. How many person want to convert??? Converts are a minority and for those ultra-orthodox rabbis no one is jew except them. What a bunch of $&@@$)!! Yitro, Ruth and King "goy" David are goy, happy???
10. Solution: No service or taxes, no vote.
Abe Froman ,   NY, NY   (01.06.11)
This only changes when change is forced on everyone. If the few can no longer vote themselves a culture of not-working by holding coalitions for ransom, they'll finally join the Nation of Israel in deeds.
11. These Haredi Rabbis are worse than Hamas
Avner ,   Tel Aviv   (01.06.11)
The Haredim need to contribute to society before anyone takes their opinion seriously. They are a complete joke. How is their opinion worth anything more than the opinion of Hamas or the Taliban, or other idiots threatening our future? They need to work for their bread. If a man doesn't know the meaning of work, how he claim to be a responsible and serious person? They are leaches on our society. They are a burden on the back of Jewish society, and yet they dare to claim authority in deciding who is Jewish.
12. they should joiin the Taliban . they would fit perfectly wit
rachel ,   usa   (01.06.11)
with them . Jews have been persecuted for thousand's of years to end up with them?in making the law? disgusting people.
13. #4 - Requirements in Scripture
Christy ,   Boston, US   (01.06.11)
I believe the Hebrew Scriptures teach that a few things are needed to be considered a member of the Jewish people, even back then. They do not seem to have all the rituals and rules that have come down to us today. Today's rituals and rules for converts were an attempt to further define, and put 'fences' around, the basics found in Scripture. What has been set down in Scripture is much simpler than we find today. Also, the various 'streams' of Judaism weren't around then so there was only one set of rules. Found in Hebrew Scripture: All pagan beliefs and practices were to be renounced. All males of the household, including slaves, had to be circumcised. Both men and women were expected to adopt the beliefs and practices of the Jewish People - as set down in Scripture. Ruth's statement that "Your G-d shall be my G-d, and your people shall be my people.", shows her renunciation of old beliefs and practices and her adoption of the beliefs and practices of the Jewish People.
14. Yo Avner!!
American Sabrah ,   Givas Shmilkeh   (01.06.11)
The Nazis spewed the very same diatribe against the Jews and blamed them for all the problems in Europe. I don't like the fact that people don't want to work and therefore we have to support them via tax money. But that is slowly changing. Maybe if you would step outside of Tel Aviv, you would notice that there are more Haredim in the work force. And fyi, the PA also receives funds from the Israeli government but most of those funds end up in the hands of the Islamic Taliban like terrorists who are worse than the Haredim that want to destroy us.
15. Judaism needs to convert to Torah not loopy loops
