2. Welcome to Pallywood
Yaakov ,   USA   (01.04.11)
Welcome to Pallywood where every Pal can pretend to be a victim. What a bunch of liars. One hand outstretched for begging money from the world and the other hand has a rocket in it to attack Israel civilians.
3. :: Filming illegal Israeli settlers
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (01.04.11)
"...film the event from a particular angle and edit it to make it look as though the settlers are abusing the poor Palestinians". Gosh I wonder what "particular angle" and what selective 'editing' took place in this clip from a B'Tselem camera showing Israeli settlers terrorizing a Palestinian woman and her family? http://tiny.cc/8jlev
4. pallywood
tom ,   bsas,argentina   (01.04.11)

5. very obvious on the videos, the masked ones were settlers

6. Welcome to Pollywood
Adam Helberg ,   USA   (01.04.11)
Produced and directed by B'tzelem, cameras and stones provided by B'tzelem.
7. So both Palis and Jews threw stones. So What?
Leon ,   Los Angeles, USA   (01.04.11)
Big deal....Youngsters with nothing to do go around throwing stone at each other at great distance without hitting each other and making films for the media....Circus.
8. B'Tselem is to blame
Abdalla ,   London   (01.04.11)
for editing, if they've ever done it. But this doesn't change the fact: settlemenets are illegal, regardless of who threw the first stone.
9. Shem
leah ,   Israel   (01.04.11)
why you as a Israeli newspaper call Shem Nablus?
10. #3 - the "angle" that erases prior events and context
William ,   Israel   (01.05.11)
you know, like when settler actions are really reactions to Arab provocations, and when many of those provocateurs turn out to be foreigners there for one reason and presented as "locals" by groups like B'tselem. You know...THAT "particular angle"
11. #5Have u noticed how handsom the Hamas guys are?
rebecca ,   Modiin   (01.04.11)
No, cause their faces are always masked.
12. #8 - so take it to court, but throw a stone...
William ,   Israel   (01.05.11)
and the Arabs will reap a response they sorely deserve. You may not like the action of your govt and consider it illegal. Go violently protest and see what the passive UK police do to your sorry asses. Until a final peace deal is made, the settlements will remain. But on my personal opinion, they are not illegal as this land was stolen in an illegal war by Arabs in 1948 and ethnically cleansed. You cannot deny this fact nor make it go away simply by chanting "settlements are illegal". Many sit on the stolen Jewish land so in actuality, they are quite legal and morally justified. And those settlers who pelt an Arab punk with a stone is simply defending their home. A very justified action.
13. So B'Tselem admits it is not a "human rights" organization
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (01.05.11)
Here's B'Tselem saying "so what?" if the Palestinians throw rocks at Jews. Same thing if they throw rocks and molotov cocktails through windshields - B'Tselem does not concern itself with human rights offenses carried out against Jews. There is a concept of universal human rights, which means that "human rights" organizations are supposed to concern themselves with just that - the rights of human beings. Seeing the lack of interest/action by B'Tselem given the thousands of attacks carried out each year by Palestinians, the conclusion is obvious: B'Tselem is a pro-Palestinian lobby group, not a human rights group.
14. I've been to film school, I know how it's done - it's staged
(01.05.11)
Here, the cameraman is the director, he's in charge of the action. It's pure propaganda.
15. Why not just sue B'Tselem -- seek civil damages.
Scott ,   USA   (01.05.11)
16. B'T = BS.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (01.05.11)
17. Palestinians/Settlers throwing stones
Joseph Charlap ,   Jerusalem   (01.05.11)
Its very convenient for the settlers to blame the left for the incidents. Regardless of what the cameras show their past record is one of attacking Palestinians and cutting their trees down depriving them of their livelihood. Its about time the settlers are shown that they are not "Lords of the Land". I am not a leftist, just a person who hates injustice.
18. 8 - Jewish Settlements are legal
Bruriah Sarah   (01.05.11)
According to the Balfour Declaration, the British Mandate and the San Remo Conference of 1920, Jewish settlement is legal. Since there was never an arab Palestine, arab encroachment on Jewish land is illegal. But unlike the Fakestinians, Jews don't murder arabs. Jews will take the issue to court.
19. #5 NON-OBSERVER
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (01.05.11)
Obvious ? You have x-ray vision and are able to see under the mask I assume that's just another one of your non-accomplishments, never having ever been anywhere near where the fracas took place What's obvious is that as per usual, you're commenting inanely on a situation you never saw in the first place Your name describes you perfectly, you require observation
20. To: No. 8
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.05.11)
The settlements are fully legal. Read here: http://www.globalpolitician.com/24388-israel-jerusalem Although you would benefit from reading the treatise in its entirety, feel free to skip down to the section titled "Law on Israel's Takeover of 1967 Lands." Read both subparagraph 1 and 2 -- the first examines the issue under Security Council Resolution 242 (and confirms that SCR 242 it is neither binding nor enforceable, as it was issued under Chapter Six of the United Nations Charter, and not Chapter Seven). The second section discusses Acquisition of Non-Sovereign Land in a Defensive War and concludes that international law does not preclude Israel from retaining AND settling Judea and Samaria and, in fact, fully supports Israel’s right to do precisely that.
21. And by "settlers" you mean....
Fadi ,   Calgary, CA   (01.05.11)
the Palestinians???
22. Yet another BS moment from the ME
