Mohmed ,   Alexandria, Egypt   (01.06.11)
SO SADLY HAMAS WILL NOT GIVE GILAD BACK TO ISRAELI EASILY HAMAS ARE KEEPING HIM AS A COMPROMISE POINT DURING NEGOTIATIONS ISRAEL WILL HAVE TO FREE MANY VIP PALESTINIANS FOR GILAD BUT BIBI DOESNT WANNA DO THAT, HE LACKS FLEXIBILITY MY PRAYERS TO THE SHALIT FAMILY
2. Gilad Shalit
Barbara ,   Haifa Israel   (01.06.11)
I have an idea / plan to bring back Gilad Shalit but it might sound a bit strange and not sure governments (Israeli and Hamas) would agree to allow it to happen. Mothers (some known national and international faces in group) should march to Gaza in protest with female reporters and live TV (again only females) to fetch him. Crazy idea, huh ?
3. Thank you to number 1
Moshe ,   Israel.   (01.06.11)
Nice that you care.
4. Let us go to the Red Cross centers worldwide too.

6. #1
Palestinian   (01.08.11)
Well, I do understand if you expressed sympathy for mothers on both side (Palestinian/ Israelis). But to show sympathy to one Israeli family while thousands of Palestinian families whine quietly! Even If you think the Palestinian prisoners are "terrorists", you should still feel sorry for their families and mothers. Some have sons in jails for tens of years. You cannot be selective in humanitarian issues.
7. Mothers
zznhl   (01.09.11)
Fantastic Idea. Wait a minute.....why only Mothers? Don't fathers care about this terrible tragedy? We also care about Israel and have sons in the army. Why make this a sexist issue and thus serve the Hamas aim of divide and conquer? How about calling the movement "Families for Gilad"? Our kids are more passionate about this issue than most, after all they will one day serve Israel in the IDF and detest our cynical politicians as much as us adults do.
8. #6, families are allowed to visit Palestinian prisoners.
vered ,   israel   (01.09.11)
the Red Cross is allowed to visit Palestinian prisoners. Everyone knows how they are being treated. For four years no one knows anything about Gilead Shalit. Yeah, you are a bunch of whiners.
9. breaking news: israeli activist goes to gaza - for gilad !!!
eporue ,   europe   (01.09.11)
yoel marshak, read maannews ! i'd like to join this too, please !
10. What about our Plastenian hostages!
FS ,   Egypt   (01.09.11)
The Just solution is to release all Palestinian Hostages in exchange for Gilad Shalit. Sit and negotiate with your leaders. Convince your political men to think about peace. Israeli Government always makes false statements and speaks half-truth, trying to waste time. Release all ladies, widows, orphans, girls and children in exchange for Gilad. Mothers Demonstration is a clear indication of the bitterness that a mother feel when she lose a son, a daughter or a husband. Thousands of Palestinians experience the same feeling for missing a child, son, daughter or husband. It is time to sit with each other to discuss our issues for a Just Peace. Don't let governments to push you into hell. Think positive! Be wise! Peace is a nice dream we all need it. Regardless of religion, race or colour, all peoples dream of peace, don't they? we are human beings and we all suffer. Negotiation is the way to peace. Ultimately, I wish you all (Jews, Christians and Muslims) a peaceful zone (Paradise) free of hatred, slander and racist. I feel sorry for thousands of Palestinian mothers and for Shalit's mother as well.
11. Painful sacrifices
zichron   (01.12.11)
Releasing war criminals is horrendous but israel must bargain
12. "... Pay The Price.."
Christy ,   Boston, US   (01.12.11)
quote from article : "The mothers sent a letter to the prime minister, urging him to "pay the price, as there is no other choice."" What if the price of releasing terrorists results in the deaths of children or other loved ones beloved by these mothers!? The mothers must be saying they would be willing, if it came down to it, to sacrifice their own loved ones for Shalit? The fallacy is in believing the only way to free Shalit is to give in to Hamas' demands. That way lies death for many more Israelis. There *are* other ways to free Shalit that don't involve giving Hamas what it wants.
13. Gilad Shalit
Bea ,   stoke on trent, UK   (01.14.11)
to no 10 - I think there is a big difference between prisoners & kidnapped victims like Gilad. As pointed out their families have no idea how they are being (mis)treated. A soldier is merely doing his duty to the nation he serves. And while one can empathise with your feelings both on peace & dialogue does it really justify such actions against a soldier?
14. Tova Weisman
Sandy Lessner ,   Agoura Hills, Ca. US   (06.15.11)
Tova is my cousin and I've been trying to call her for days. The operator message keeps saying "Your call can not be completed at this time in the country you are calling". My 21 year old daughter, Julia, is leaving for Israel on Birthright!!! tomorrow and I want to connect them. Can you help?
