1. It Is Political
Aharon   (01.06.11)
Because Masri wants to build projects in Jerusalem exclusively for Arabs and to consider that a part of "palestine" would be considered a land grab and very much political. He admits that he doesn't want to invest in Israel, i.e. Jewish projects and wants to arabize and "palestinize" Jerusalem. Once again, a political move.
2. Will he sell apartments to Jews, or only Arabs?
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (01.06.11)
Jabel Mukaber is not in "Palestine", but in unified Jerusalem where such discrimination is prohibited. But Palestinians are prohibited from selling property to Jews on penalty of death. So if Masri (the name means "Egyptian") takes over the project, to whom will he sell?
3. land ownership is not sovereignty.
Golan ,   Modiin   (01.06.11)
Please grow up.
4. False Information
Pnina ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (01.06.11)
Just to let your reporter know, most of what he wrote about what happened in the meeting on December 28th is false.
5. This deal must be stopped.
Chaim ,   Israel   (01.06.11)
Masri admits he wants to build "Palestine", which in his mind includes all of East Jerusalem. This is obviously a political deal and must be stopped. Israel must come up with an alternate Jewish funding proposal to keep all of our Eternal Capital in our hands forever.
6. Good luck Mr. Bashar Masri.
Salma ,   Palestine   (01.06.11)
7. Shande fer die goyim
Czarkazem13   (01.06.11)
"Instead of having our own shopping center I will have to buy things at the Arab stores. It's not a fight over shares but over land and character," Attorney Minser says. Awww....poor you. What kind of Jews you have over there in Israel. "I have to shop with Arabs...waaahhh". Grow up Israel.
8. 2 With an American Background, Raymond
Mark ben Josuf ,   USA   (01.07.11)
He might just sell to all kinds of people and create integrated housing. Shocking idea, isn't it. He may even have some creative ways of doing that. Just like there were ways of skirting Jim Crow, there probably are ways around Israeli and Palestinian Jim Crow laws. What is the big deal? Jews can live along side non-Jewish people in the US. Why not elsewhere. Cooties are really a myth.
9. When the Palestinians are way over there
Israeli 2   (01.07.11)
back in Jordan, come to us with your proposal, Mr. Masri. But I am sure that by then, your business venture would change its course. I do not believe it is just business with you. You are politically forced by the King of Jordan to purchase this Real Estate. No deal, Sir. You have just shown to all of us that the rabbis prohibiting real estate sales to Arabs are right.
10. Are Jews allowed to do business in PA?
tejas ,   India   (01.07.11)
11. If someone is opposed, why not make a higher offer?
Serge ,   Montreal, Canada   (01.07.11)
It's very simple. If you wish to buy out this development, rather than Mr. Masri doing so, then make a higher offer. Then you can buy it out instead.
