3. Duhhh! You think so?
Nick Sporek ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (01.11.11)
"Also Tuesday, Hamas spokesman Taher Nunu called on militant Gaza factions to stop firing rockets at Israel. He said a ceasefire that has been in place for two years serves Palestinian interests and prevents Israeli attacks." No kidding non violence serves palestinian interests. Did you really think for a minute you'd get what you wanted using force? The Hamas spokes person should get a noble prize for that comment alone. I hope his "brothers" don't kill him for saying that though.

7. Israel has made it abundantly clear
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.11.11)
... that it will hold Hamas responsible for any and all mortars, missiles, IED devices, fence tampering and other terrorist attacks. It is evident that Hamas no longer has a stranglehold on the minds and hearts of Gazans, and that there is no shortage of splinter groups that do not wish to toe the Hamas line. Make no mistake about Hamas or any other ersatz "Palestinian" terrorist group. They have not softened their position with respect to Israel. They are scorpions in a bottle. As long as they are far more dangerous to one another than to Israel, that is an acceptable status quo. Should that change, they will all be destroyed, which suits me right on down to the ground.

"72 young beautiful virgins" Actually, that's just another Islamofascist lie. It's one seventy-two year old virgin. Young? Maybe not so much. Beautiful? Sure, why not?

OBSERVER ,   CANADA   (01.11.11)
Your reference to PALASTINIAN is giving credibility to their claims, for purpose of identifying it would be just as accurate to write GAZA, which has no political connotation. The U.S.A. refuses to write JERUSALEM on a passport as place of birth, though it preceded it by thousands of years. Do you think they know something about politics that we don't?
12. Capital Punishment vs Targetted Assassinations
Leah ,   Yerushalayim Yisrael   (01.11.11)
Okay, so, if we can assassinate people who are planning terrorist actions, why can't we have capital punishment for terrorists who are convicted of carrying out terrorist actions? Has got me baffled. Israel's jails are full of convicted murderers that Hamas is demanding in exchange for Gilad. I don't get it. Why don't we have capital punishment for convicted terrorist murderers?

Israel needs to make it abundantly to Hamas and all residents of Gaza that any attck launched from Gaza will result in Gaza being no more.

BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (01.11.11)
1_ They wanted to kill the terrorist and they did 2) They don't want to have Shalit killed while they're looking for him The terrorist was above ground, and you said Shalit is in a basement Understand ? I doubt it

They knew because that's what these terrorists are trained to do, kill as many as possible Dying for the cause and receive their quota of virgins if they themselves are killed in the process As a matter of fact, their terror training starts in kindergarten, there are Hamas Kindergarten Graduation videos on You tube, take a peek and learn

Are you sure about that? Or do you think it might have to do with the fact that Gilad Shalit is booby-trapped? I do seem to recall that the United States military didn't do terribly well with the hostages in Iran, now, did they? Certainly nothing like what Israel did in Entebbe. You live in a glass house. Don't throw stones.

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.12.11)
I think the answer is because no one really wants to have a situation where the hangman is the busiest person in all of Israel. No matter how richly terrorists deserve execution, I do not want to see Israel vie with the likes of Iran, Saudi Arabia and China for the distinction of which country executes the most people. What we SHOULD do is put them into solitary confinement, no visitors permitted except their lawyers, no perks, no televisions, no cell phones, only a Qu'uran for reading material, locked up 23.5 hours per day, with only one-half hour solitary exercise in a fenced enclosure. Cruel and unusual? No. Certainly not any more cruel or unusual than the circumstances in which Corporal Shalit is detained. Execution? No. We are not the Chinese and we are definitely not the Iranians or the Saudis. I take a considerable amount of pride in that.
