Fiurst of all, demonstrations are in themelves, not bad. When they become violent, or instigate violence, thats another matter. Israel has no shortage of demonstrations..from the left, to the right..and in the middle. The Charedi approach sedition at times. A small country (7m people) seems to have 7m opinions. In the US, we have 300m with less mayhem. We express ouselves in the voting booth..or at peaceful rallies ( exept for an occasional maniac). One person compared Israeli protests to Tuniisia. Apples and oranges folks. Israel should investigate groups for their funding..every group. If money received from an enemy country or group, it should be confiscated..with a few warnings. My guess is you're actually American, so you should know that even here in America, if you are involved in politics, you MUST disclose your sources of finance. If Israel starts cracking down on NGO's receiving foreign funds, for the basic reason that they do things Avigdor Lieberman doesn't like, then America should ensure that Israel treats right-wing NGO's the exact same way. If left-wing NGO's get banned or have their funds denied, the US should move to ban all American donations going directly or indirectly to West Bank construction. After all, what do the fascists have to hide?

this british parliamentary act bans and prohibits the donation of any foreign monies, indeed any money donated by persons who are ineligable to vote as well (even if british citizens) into any aspect of the political process. it was passed, unopposed, by a labour governemnt as well, in britain. there are similar laws all over the world. that the israeli left protests so much is most revealing, as there were no such events when this law was passed 11 years ago in uk.

Do you seriously believe (speaking hypothetically of course) that Saudi contributions would've made its way into public records? Oh, and how can you be sure that contributors are not representing some third (or even forth , etc) party? Forbidding foreign contributors is most likely unnecessary, but knowing who is contributing and for what cause is rather healthy practice. Prevents abuse, wouldn't you say?
