2. Always the Islamists!!
Abdalla ,   London   (01.16.11)
The Islamists in Tunisia have no power whatsoever. The only power on the ground is the Tunisian army. Stop your xenophobic scare-mongering. There were tens of thousands of western tourists in Tunisia during the protests. Not one was hurt and they all left home safe and sound.
3. a call to Israel to help?does not make sense..
Anna M Sedda ,   Rome-Italy   (01.16.11)
this is a real trap to Israel and "other contries",to start a sort of world war....Tunisians know well how to fight for their freedom....some people just do not know what they are talking about....
4. Jews in Tunisia

First of all, in Tunis there is a very small community. Most of the 2000 thousands Jews that the article talks about are in Djerba (around 1400) and they look like Arabs and they don't have any problem with the Tunisians. Secondly the photo shown in the article is a small synagogue. In fact it'is the yeshiva of Zal Rav Pinson, the chaliah habad, a very very Great Guy. No words to describe him. The Yechiva is located in "Street of Palestine". It's true :o)) But what I hope is that the great synagogue wich is in Avenue de la Liberté will be kept in safety and security. It is a very very beautiful synagogue. I really hope that Jews in Tunisia will be in safety and that it will be always possible to come in Tunisia for Jews as we always did without any problems.
5. Why to travel there ?
(01.17.11)
Jews and Israelis have nothing to do anymore in Muslim countries. And we don't hear anymore the Former chief Rabbi of France, Sitruk, who used to travel to Tunisia as a guest of Ben Ali !!
6. from what i have seen

Salma ,   Palestine   (01.17.11)
You know, pretty much everything is possible ; ) any way, it's a good news indeed, Something for "Israel" to learn from the Arabs and Muslims, Religion for God and Homeland for All, I hope that all Tunisian Jews come back to their homeland, Tunisia , there is no fear anymore.

Ironic how Zine fled to his real homeland Saudi Arabia. Perhaps you shall follow in suit? Irrespective of my ancestors long history in Tunisia it will not change the fact my ancestors originated from Israel. Without historical debate, your ancestors originated from Saudi Arabia, and indeed your religion, Islam originated from Saudi Arabia. My religion, Judaism, originated from Israel. Both Christianity and Islam acknowledge this. If we fall to the whole Canaanite scam you always use, keep this little fact in mind. By the time Islam was a religion Canaan did not exist anymore. Should you be willing to worship statues of ba'al, dagan, etc... It would be a start to getting in touch with your "supposed" Canaanite identity. However, the oldest practicing religion in Israel is Judaism. It is fitting that the original monotheistic religion of this land maintain the land. It would be as absurd as saying Jews should rule Saudi Arabia, or the Vatican. We've never invaded these lands. However, both Christianity and Islam felt it their right to invade Jewish land and change its charter. The difference, many progressive Christians have realized the right of Israel to the Jews is fair. We house over a million Arabs, both Muslim and Christian. We house Druze, and Bedouins. All the Jews in the middle east and north Africa combined don't even near that number. Behaving nicely to 2000 brothers and sisters of mine that are left is not something you should politicize, it is the bare minimum the country should and can do. Perhaps you could learn something from the demographics of Israel and then compare it to the demographics of Gaza and the West Bank. If you play "2nd" classism for the Arabs in Israel, my answer is simple and true, "at least there are Arabs in Israel who are citizens, regardless of their class" in Gaza and the West Bank we are zero class citizens as we do not exist.
