1. turkel report and turkey
mohsen   (01.20.11)
turkel report which is a sobre realistic assessment of the raid which itself was hamstrung by the dimwit who restricted the idf to paintball guns, can now be reported to erdogan and dovotgolu, the leaders of islamic turkey. And they will reject it, preferrring their committees report which calls it murder. Erdogan can take the turkel report and choke it on, the rabble rousing liar that sardi knows he is.
2. Of course world won't endorse Turkel report
William ,   Israel   (01.20.11)
They've already made their mind up about Israel within 10 minutes of the takeover, despite the countless videos and testimonies by flotilla activists actually supporting IDF claims. It's called racism and is too rampant in halls of global govt.
3. The important point is....
William ,   Israel   (01.20.11)
despite the outright and immediate rejection of the Turkel committee on the flotilla incident, every time racist Leftist groups, Arab groups, and Turkey attempt to take the IDF to court over the incident they will get rejected and lose publicly. And isn't that the best credibility the Turkel Committee can ask for on an intl scale?
4. who cares. world owes us, not we owe them lies to please the
ralph   (01.20.11)
5. Good 4 Israel/ US would've done the same
Real People ,   USA   (01.20.11)
Who cares what the biased world thinks (especially Europe & The Turkeys). Israel acted responsibly and investigated itself with foreign observers aboard and came to their conclusions fairly. Any decent nation would have done so, including the US and it shows tremendous honor! The UN is a Joke: Jews are being forced to flee euro-he'll once again due to rampant anti-semitism so their opinions mean NOTHING. Chai Yisrael! The High road is called the high road for a reason: it looks down on all others.
6. The fact that it happened in Int. Waters remains a problem
Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, Texas   (01.20.11)
There is old law that makes it legal under blockade rules, while there are newer laws that make it illegal to board ships in Int. waters without UN agreement. If IDF had waited until ships enter Israeli control waters then this would be less of an issues in many ways. Israel bring ships into its port from Int. Water, rather than to a neutral port maybe the another legal problem.
7. Wow, what an unexpected findings, i/m
rabi akiva ,   helem   (01.20.11)
sure the world will be impressed by this micky mouse report!
8. stop the garbage

you seem to be true to your name... bloodyscot. what a pessimist. You must hate the jews with a passion. G-d help you!
10. Why do we complicate things?
Sam   (01.21.11)
World unlikely to endorse findings of the report because the world doesn't support siege on Gaza to begin with.
11. @ no. 8
AJ - Raalte   (01.21.11)
On the contrary, Salma. Turkey should apologize for the unprovoked attack on Israel..
12. Sam # 10
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (01.21.11)
The world doesn't have to deal with Gaza and a people whose sole purpose seems to be to kill Jews when they aren't killing each other. Israel does need to deal with them and the world should get the hell out of Israels way and worry about their own problems.
13. #6 - can you back up your claim with facts?
William ,   Israel   (01.21.11)
Where is it written that older laws dealing with maritime issues during war time are over-written as is and must include a UN endorsement? Infact, the mandate of the UN is that its existence shall change NO previous laws including that of the League of Nations which actually underscores the legitimacy of Israel's existence, but I digress. Maritime law is very explicit regarding wartime situations and in that, any ship declaring its intention to break a legal wartime blockade can be boarded the minute it leaves its port. That's a fact and has been used many times during war in the past. Once Israel took control of the ship, towing it to an Israeli port was optimal for two reasons: 1) in this region, there is no such thing as a "neutral" port. Not even Egypt, with its peace deal with Israel, is considered "neutral" in this situation. Lebanon is at war with Israel and Cyprus is too far away. 2) the Israeli port was already offered as a port to unload and transfer goods into Gaza. Its used often by the UN and has the infrastructure to handle it., thus ensuring the aid gets transferred and the security and safety of the flotilla rats, and the IDF soldiers, were ensured. That's probably why several maritime experts and lawyers weighed in early and in favor of Israel. Not to mention the BBC's Panorama, and that NEVER happens.
14. #10 - don't need world support to be legal
William ,   Israel   (01.21.11)
and according to Intl law, the siege is perfectly legal and meets and exceeds minimum requirements of population under siege per the UN. Problem is, they (the UN and Gazans) want so much more than they deserve to get. After all, they did declare war on Israel and have been committing war crimes for a decade now. Though you seem to be married to the falsehood that a human rights issue exists in Gaza, I cite a Sudanese govt minister who visited Gaza on the Viva Palestina trip recently, "Where is the siege in Gaza? I wish for Sudanese such a siege." So, with the backing of Intl Laws, the world can, and I stress this point, kiss our ass.
15. TURKS WOULDN'T TRY IT AGAIN
American ,   Los Angeles USA   (01.21.11)
This time they might look for their ship with submarine.Islamic jihadist can't play "peace activists" anymore.
16. no. 6- can you please cite the "newer laws"
Shaul R   (01.21.11)
Thank you.
17. To Bloodyscott (#6), "rabi" (#7), Salma (#8), and Sam (#10)
Tahl ,   Ashdod   (01.21.11)
Wrong, Bloodyscott. The San Remo Manual on International Law Applicable to Armed Conflict at Sea, the London Declaration Concerning the Laws of Naval War, and the Helsinki Principles on the Law of Maritime Neutrality - all prove resoundingly that Israel was well within its rights when the boarding of the Marmara in international waters under the circumstances. Besides, I do not recall 1% of outcry from the world when the American Navy seized a North Korean vessel in the middle of the ocean, or when the Iranians seized a British Navy ship (sailing in Iraqi waters), and humiliated its crew, several years ago. Needless to say that in both cases, any resistance would have been met with much deadlier force. Salma and "rabi akiva", let me understand - since the inquiry's findings are not to your liking, then it is automatically "garbage" and "micky mouse"? How very convenient... By the way thank you for confirming the exact words of the article: "Almost naturally, committees established by Israel draw a suspicious attitude in the world... There will always be a perception whereby Israeli committees take Israel's side." Sam, since the Hamas thugs in charge of Gaza chose the path of belligerence (rocket attacks aimed deliberately at civilians) for so many years against Israel, then a state of war exists between Israel and Hamas, and hence the blockade is justified and necessary for saving Israeli lives, whether "the world" approves of that or not. Besides, there is absolutely no humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Just ask the Sudanese minister who visited there, and wished his own country would be as prosperous.
18. IDF acted properly

I was expecting otherwise. I really trust Isael probs. Crap!

20. paint-balls were casus belli
observer   (01.21.11)
how without those Israel could have gunned down from air or sea those mad unarmed turks. Proof? If Israel had taken over the ship by taking out its engine or surround it water, that dozen killed Turks would not have been there, which Israel obviously didn't want to.
21. Re: Lya - HaHa, EXACTLY!!!
Gábor Fränkl ,   Budapest, Hungary   (01.21.11)
Reuters, as AP, AFP, BBC, CNN are - are the foremost liars and delegitimisers of Israel.
22. There wasn't a question among people w/yees in their heads
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (01.21.11)
that the Israeli policing force acted lawfully against those breaking the legally imposed military blockade on Gaza, a territory in armed conflict with Israel. But that was not good enough for those eager to sling dirt at everything Israel, the nation-state of the Jewish people. Such people will only be satisfied when Israel is no more, wiped off the face of earth... although, come to think about it, neither will this please them. They will be pleased only when Israel with its nearly six million Jews are gone, faded into a black smoke...!!

Rodney ,   Cape Town   (01.21.11)
You are totally blinded by hate. You have lost your ability to look at things objectively. Before you comment you should look at all the facts and not just look at them from your hate filled perspective. Your hatred will ultimately destroy you and not the people you are hating ie. the Jews who unfortunately for you are G-d's chosen.

29. As Most Who Are Objective...
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (01.21.11)
Already know this finding to be accurate and indisputable. The overwhelming video evidence, comments made by the terrorists on the ship, and many International legal scholars, know everything Israel had to do was in fact legal and complied with International Law. Bottom line, nobody has pointed to any International laws Israel violated, those brought up immediately after the incident have been discredited. As I've stated many times the Case is Closed, Israel is innocent of any and all charges. As we see here: http://naturalism7.blogspot.com/2010/06/gaza-flotilla-raid.html and Here: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/opinions/israels-naval-blockade-pitches-and-rolls-with-the-law-of-the-sea/article1589981/ Just to point to a couple of references. Unlike Israel's detractors, who can point to no source or credible reference to back up their claims. At least none that have already been refuted by the above sourced information I provided.
30. #24 - only one reason the BBC sided with Israel here
William ,   Israel   (01.21.11)
because the evidence was so overwhelming that it couldn't be ignored or manipulated any other way.
