1. Hariri should win: hope the US/NATO gets involved
Real People ,   USA   (01.20.11)
Enough already. No need for war. If NATO quietly shows up in Port tomsupport the Lebanese people, Hezbollah will flee to Syria and lebanon will be free. Clearly Lebanon should be a republic: the united states of Lebanon where the 3 major factions have their states under federal jurisdiction with a constitution, bill of rights and supreme court. Might be a little idealistic but everyone would have an even share and no reason for conflict. Peace to Lebanon. Down with hezbollah.
2. I HAVE AN IDEA
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (01.20.11)
If a government of Lebanon is needed let the people of Lebanon have a fair, free election in which all who wish to can stand. After that, based on the election results, and without reference to religion,a government can take office. I think that it's called democracy. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
3. FURTHER TO MY #2
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (01.20.11)
While they're about it,the Lebanese can free themselves of the charge of living in an apartheid state by enfranchising all the Palestinian Arabs living in Lebanon, branded as 'refugees'. After more than 60 years of settlement and the birth of several generations,it's long overdue that they be accorded the same rights as the rest. How about that?Lebanon,a country of democracy and equality. But will there ever be fraternity? THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
4. To Fellow Geordie....
Sammy ,   Newcastle   (01.20.11)
Dont get carried away.. Its just a matter of time before Hezbollah mount a military coup... And the outcome? The pent up hatred and anger of ordinary Lebanese at the usurping of Lebanese self determination by Nasrallah Iran and Hezbollah is so palpable - you can smell it see it feel it all over Lebanon Talk about one almighty powder keg...And do you know what? Most Lebanese can wait for it to blow. And but for the total fanatics many many Hezbollah fighters have got no stomach for a bloody civil war which they know they will lose
5. WHAT I REALLY THINK
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (01.20.11)
It sickens me that Hariri is PM of Lebanon for no other reason than that his name is Hariri. He's as much a part of Lebanon's problems as the rest of the self-appointed elite who think that they have a right to rule and will resort to ANYTHING,no matter how nasty and immoral,to further their ambitions. I sure hope that the Lebanese are closely following events in Tunisia, and I sure hope that the Tunisians don't allow their revolution to be hijacked by the sort of self-servers that plague Lebanon. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
6. Another crybaby. I thought big bad Hez was the Resistance?
Cynic ,   USA   (01.20.11)
You reap what you sow. Cowards like Harriri counted on Hez to protect them from Israel. Now Hez has thrown him out of office after killing his father. And just recently he was crying to the UN about Israel, when he should have been disarming Hez
7. despite Hezbollah's objection !
Salma ,   Palestine   (01.20.11)
sorry Saad, you can not be the next PM despite Hezbollah's objection ....no way.
8. Does Hariri have an ACE up his sleeve?
Ken Quinn ,   Amsterdam   (01.20.11)
I really hope so.
9. Lebanon
Parry ,   Washington, USA   (01.20.11)
Give Hizbullah a finger and they'll grab the whole country. What ever happened to the mighty Druze warriors....Jumblatt will fold to Hizbullah pressures like a wet rag. But as he said, issue is that Western support is only words which crumble in the face of Hizbullah arms.
10. Lebanon will be divided anyway,
Alex ,   UK   (01.20.11)
question is, with or without civil war.
11. dream
from lebanon ,   lebanon   (01.20.11)
i have a dream that lebanon and israel will be at peace in the very near future ...but first hizballah must be crushed...
12. #11 I have a dream too...
Arash ,   Tehran-Iran   (01.21.11)
That your country will be completely in our control(not that it isn't at the moment) and you can actually forget lebanon joining the western camp. Period. Let's wait and see which of us gets his dream come true. For the time being, learn to bow to your Iranian masters. Surely you don't want to be the unlucky target of a wandering bullet or something, right???
13. Can't we just get rid of this jerk, just like we got rid of
Arash ,   Tehran-Iran   (01.21.11)
His father?? I mean seriously, who's gonna miss him anyway? He's nothing but a wimp. He should realize that lebanon is under our control and we pull the string's there and not his pathetic party.
14. #11 #12
rubyH ,   SA   (01.21.11)
Can we sum up the ME conflict any better?
15. Arash,Tehran-Iran
JUDAH THE LION   (01.21.11)
What a name Ah,really it suits Mr.Arash the trash.Thank you for admitting Lebanon is under your control. This will help Israel
16. 12 & 13
TAHRIR QUDS ALYAHUDI   (01.21.11)
Should there be REAL WARM PEACE but not cold peace between Israel and Labanon,Lebanon will benefit from Israelin every way.At the moment what they are gaining from Tehran,NOTHING but problems. Wake up the people of Labanon and choose real PEACE with the JEWISH STATE.
17. #4Sammy,#8Ken Quinn HIZBOLLAH WILL BE WIPED OUT
Ian ,   ניוקאסטל אָן טיין   (01.21.11)
Short range missiles might be a danger to Israel, but they won't do much good in close combat with hacked-off Lebanese who don't have to look over their shoulders to the UNSC. What I hear being reported, even by the BBC,is that the Lebanese civilians are providing themselves with formidable personal weaponry. That's Hariri's ace up his sleeve. There won't be a protracted civil war. It'll be a short ,brutal, bloody annihilation of Hizbollah. But,when it's over,I hope that the people will know the next targets and sort out Lebanon's problems for once and all. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
18. #11 Lebnainai Are There More Citizens
Brazen   (01.21.11)

19. to # 12
