31. Still no "end of conflict" clause
Golan ,   Modiin   (01.24.11)
And still no recognition of Israel as a Jewish state and still no end to hostilities as the Arabs would have "killed the settlers the never next day." And still a hostile Arab population remains in Israel as a fifth column And still the PLO state is armed and can invite Iranian army or proxy army into its territory And still Hamas can shoot rockets at Jews with impunity. And still no end to terror and still an agreement was not signed, why? because its a bluff.
32. Don't get all worked up - this is just a hoax.
Terry ,   Eilat - Israel   (01.24.11)
This isn't WikiLeaks, this is a semi-forgery, a hoax, sold for money & to discredit further the already discredited Fatah. Gullible journalists print any crap these days with no analysis, especially if it fits into their preconceived lefty bias. There are too many ''false notes'' in this song, the cows are mooing being of the strong odour of BS.
33. Under the same set of laws
Dr D ,   Jerusalem   (01.24.11)
There are very few countries on our planet where all the citizen live and follow a set of laws under the umbrella of a Constitution. Israel don't have a constitution , the Palestinian have so far 2 charts . My suggestion is that before taking additional steps toward the 2 States solution , Israel should call his citizen and present them with a Constitution to be approved by all. Same should do the Palestinians. After all, asking two people to live side by side in two separate States will only be possible the day that the overwhelming majorities and minorities of this two states will vote for it YES.
34. The disappointing part here...
Tahl ,   Ashdod   (01.24.11)
Is the fact that the territorial exchange mentioned in these negotiations probably meant giving up valuable unihhabitated land in Israel-proper to the Palestinians, instead of annexing Arab towns in the Triangle (like Baka, Um El Fahm, etc.) to the future Palestinian state.
35. @#18: who does, then? If we want peace, who has the authorit
Bat Zion ,   Central Israel   (01.24.11)
tp make peace with us?
36. @30 One state solution, even more untenable than 2 state.
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (01.24.11)
Israel will never agree to that. So that's out. The status-quo is still best for all parties concerned.
37. Was Jordan's land #14
Freddy ,   Israel   (01.24.11)
You are right. Jordan was there till 1967. A Palestinian state was not created at the time....interesting to know why ?.... Jordan attacked Israel in 1967, wanting a piece of the cake and thinking that Egypt and Syria were winning... Jordan lost the war and lost the land as per usual rules of war.....Now it is Israeli land and Israel could cede, if it wants, some land to create another Palestinian state wit Jordan being the first (just compare the Jordanian and Palestinian flags.....1 small white star difference.....
38. Barry #7 shows how ignorant the world is on the subject
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (01.24.11)
Barry claims there is " Israeli inaction on the peace front". Strange, but last we checked it is the Palestinians who are refusing to come to the negotiating table. In fact, during 10 months of construction freeze they also refused to negotiate despite the Israeli initiative. So "construction freeze" is a red herring. And if Barry thinks that it really is an issue, let's note that this entire time the Palestinians have been continuing to shoot rockets and mortars at us, set bombs, shoot and stab civilians, and throw rocks and molotov cocktails at car windshields. If "construction freeze" is a condition for peace talks, then Israel has every right to insist and demand that there be a Palestinian "violence freeze" in order for talks to take place. Thus, by Barry's Boston logic there will never be peace talks. Or, by our logic the Palestinians should quit stalling and get back to the peace table.
39. What really happened to Jerusalem under Arab rule
Emma ,   London   (01.24.11)
Under the partition plan in 1947, Jersualem was to be an international city. When the Jordanians, along with 4 other Arab armies, invaded Israel in May 1948, there was a bitter battle for East Jerusalem including the Old City which the Israelis lost. The Arabs expelled all the Jews living in the Old City, blew up all the synagogues, desecrated the Mount of Olives cemetery by using the tombstones as paving slabs and for 19 years no Jew was allowed access to the Old City. It is the ultimate chutzpah therefore for the Arabs to claim that they have rights over the whole of Jerusalem. As detailed above, we have seen what access they allow Jews when they are in control. It is not the Palestinian land as reported in the biased British press.
40. READ!
Daniel ,   USA   (01.24.11)
If you had finished the paragraph you would have heard that Saeb Erekat said that he agreed with Tzipi Livni, to which Qureia responds that he doesn't care of the residents of MAale Adumim become palestinian citizens. "Let them stay". Never assume the worst.
41. This is such nonsense
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.24.11)
East Jerusalem and environs was formally annexed in June 1967. How can the ersatz "Palestinians" cede what isn't theirs to begin with?
42. Spanish inquisition
zichron   (01.26.11)
The nazis lost east prussia and the arabs lost jerusalem . The coordination between nazi germany and the worldof islam as regards european jewry is a historical fact. Could not turkey take in jews from 1933-1945 as in 1492 and islam became great again Would not afghanistan pakistan iraq and iran have been great with millions of jews in a jewish islamic califate and equality in the shared lands of abraham.
