1. i am tired from pa. And the pretending for peace talk
anonimo ,   brazil   (01.25.11)
when Israel is negotiating wih pa, Pa ask to Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia, Uruguay, Chile, Peru to recognize Palestine without negotiation. PA have only one goal, to demonize Israel not to give peace to their people. let the world see what they say, and what they do.
2. Hamas victory over Fatah would benefit Israel.
Chaim ,   Israel   (01.25.11)
The author is mistaken in saying Hamas victory over Fatah wouldn't benefit Israel. It definitely would. The author subscribes to the ridiculous theory that Fatah are the good terrorists and Hamas the bad ones. The truth is that both Fatah and Hamas have the same goal. The destruction of Israel. Both their convenants say so. They both say so in all their media. The difference is that Hamas are honest terrorists and Fatah are hypocrite terrorist. Fatah has maimed and murdered far more Jews than Hamas. There is only one victory I wish for Hamas; over Fatah. Israel is far better off fighting Hamas, than it's rival Fatah terrorists, who pretend to be moderate.
3. Abvbas etc are weak & corrupt and
Iris ,   US   (01.25.11)
they are not liked by their own people anyway. Besides their office terms ended years ago. Teach them to celebrate Hussein invading Kuwait....a long time 'get even'...May even encourage Abbas to make a peace
4. weaken PA and provoking palestinian revolution ?
eporue ,   europe   (01.25.11)
it weakens israel and will provoke a worldwide wave of anger and disappointment against it - of gigantic dimensions. every israeli objection against a peace agreement will be dismissed, as soon as you open mouth, and every terrorist will be seen as a freedom fighter. the state of israel doesnt have any credibility anymore. if you dont immediately find anyone pulling the emergency brake, you are lost. good night israel.
5. There goes nothing
Paul ,   Israel   (01.25.11)
if ever there was a chance for negotiation and coming to some kind of agreement, Al Jazeera has made suer THAT one has been thrown out the window. Now we will never find anyone with whom to enter into meaningful negotiations with. So why should we even try? A bit more sympathy and a bit more responsibility on the part of Al Jazeera would go a long way to help this issue come to a resolution, but it seems that Qatar has thrown it's lot in with the fundamentalists.
6. Al-Jazeera helping Hamas !
Salma ,   Palestine   (01.25.11)
very nice joke , Roee ! any way, Palestine Liberation Organization has not signed after Oslo any concessions, let them prattle on long enough,, but in the end I'm sure that any Palestinian leader can not exceed the aspirations of his people even if he wanted to. I assure you Mr. Nahmias, Hamas can not be a suitable alternative to the PLO, not after everything they have done in Gaza with the blessing of enemies and allies alike. see you in Security Council ; )
7. Freedom of the press? Democracy?
berlonski ,   berlin   (01.25.11)
Al-Jazeera is doing its job, practising investigative journalism, and on Ynet I only read - it helps Hamas. In Tunisia the people accomplish a democratic revolution, casting out a dictator, and Netanyahu comments / on Ynet I only read - the Arab world is not stable and not trustworthy. Israel is the only democray in the Middle East? It seems to be she wants to stay the only one, putting their trust only in autoritarian and corrupt Arab regimes. (Like most of European governments by the way ...)
8. @7 opinion articles in one news source
yochi ,   jlem   (01.25.11)
do not reflect the quality of press freedom and democracy in a country. I would suggest to read more than one newspaper. and a news source doing it's job is not the same as it doing it's job well - also investigative journalism can be presented to the world in a subjective, deceiving manner.
9. #6 - really think you'll make headway in UNSC?
William ,   Israel   (01.26.11)
The US already stated it will block the PA attempts to deligitimize Jewish settlements on land stolen from Jews in the 1948 ethnic cleansing. #1 stated the problem with "Palestinians" very well. While you pretend to negotiate in good faith, you run around the world begging for recognition so you don't have to negotiate. Tough problems are not solved by circumventing them, but through tough work and tough decisions. I was actually impressed by the PA for suggesting such realistic concessions in negotiations, and would accept the same on our side. But its obvious that your ilk still hold the "all or nothing" supremacy position. That's probably why Pallys firebombed Sari Nusseibeh's home and you guys haven't seen peace in decades, even from other Arabs. I find these leaks as a blessing. When the PA goes to the UNSC, the members can ask..."why do you need recognition if you agreed to such concessions on your own hard positions, and publicly deny it while you support delegitimizing a neighboring sovereign State"? Yet another moment when Erekat will become frustrated and dumbfounded.
10. #7 - only freedom of press if leaks published in full
William ,   Israel   (01.26.11)
in this case, Al-jazeera released only selected excerpts of the leaks, based upon the whims of the editorial staff which is well-known to be swayed by Qatar and biased. Wikileaks is more credible than Al-Jazeera for that reason alone.
11. TO 5
(01.26.11)
DO NOT TRY BUT CAN YOU STOP ANY ONE WANT TO TRY
12. Good night Israel?
Paul Freedman ,   Falls Church, USA   (01.26.11)
Zion has been on the planet for 3500 years. and will be here without apology for milleniums after the dust of anti-Zionist agitators has dissipated into the void.
13. Pali-Leaks
Helena Orenstein ,   Elazar, Gush Etzion   (01.27.11)
Come-on Roee, you and I both know why the al-Jazeera/Guardian leaks are so effective. They show this generation of diplomats and politicians (on both sides) no different from previous - negotiating on the basis of self-efficacy. If you want to know more about the previous decade study the book "The High Cost of Peace" by Bodansky. Something new and something old - nothing ever changes in Levantine negotiations.
14. re: Mr Nahmias analysis/opinion
joel ,   usa   (01.28.11)
mr nahmias opinion on the Al Jazeera revelations could be factual & true, but Israel should be ready for the usual response it give in any events of aggressions by its enemies, not an ounce of trust for them, since they are all untrustworthy for israel's survival!
