if you build houses on areas, which are caved and tunneled beneath like a swiss cheese, then the soil will naturally move faster and more than in other places... its not the tunnel, its the idea to build on "disturbed" (tunneled) ground...

Yes it is political and yes the High Court of Justice is following a legal precedent of facts set on the ground. The facts set on the ground and the legal precedent they are following was set by the Palestinian and Jordanian Wakfs on the Temple Mount when beginning in 1999 the Wakfs changed the status quo on the Temple Mount by excavating beneath the Mosque of Omar and into the Solomon Stables in order to build a new underground mosque there. So despite the fact that the Palestinian residents of Silwan have a point they can only blame their Wakfs for giving the Israelis in Silwan a legal leg to stand on! To the TBers people get yourselves educated before making ridiculously ignorant and insouciant comments!

artefacts, their preservation, and therefore excavations... its strange, isnt it ? e.g. the temple mount tunnels, the temple mount rubble which they disposed at a waste dump when they dug, the ramshackle plundered hut of the nativity church which is morphing into a stable again...
