Uh, Gregg, read my talkback again. I said he's lucky that there is secular law, not Torah law, so that he served time and was released back into society alive. I don't decide his or anybody else's faith, nor do I decide who has to die. That's in the Big Guy's hands, except when some criminal shmuck goes out and kills somebody - like Avrushmi did. Avrushmi pretended he was G-d, and took a life. Instead of killing him in return, society (yours and mine) stuck him in prison for 27 years where he couldn't kill anybody else on the street. This (albeit unrepentant) murderer has served his time and is now being released. However, the tone of the article appears to not be so pleased with this. I realise that he killed one of their own, a left-wing demonstrator, but do they not accept the rule of law? If 27 years is what he got, and he duly served his time, whether he is remorseful or not, so what? Are other criminals judged for their remorse before release? Perhaps he's a psychopath who can't feel remorse. Perhaps he had a political agenda that he still believes in. If revenge is the purpose of prison, I understand the ill-feeling completely. But I thought that Israelis claim it to have a rationally based justice system. Do the left not agree with this either?
