I don't know about other countries, but in the U.S. not only can you join the military without being a citizen...but you can be drafted without being one. And what that means is you can be drafted without even being able to vote for the people who will send you off to war.

How I admire and respect this young woman. When I was her age I would have run a mile to avoid military service. Remember, 20 months seems much longer when you are that age. One thing baffles me. The IDF rules, regulations and provisions hold that Palestinian Muslims are not automatically drafted in order to prevent having them be in a situation where they are in a belicose situation against their own brothers. 4. The IDF does draft Beduin Muslims but that is a whole different situation. 5. Sir it is the International Christian "Embassy" who is attempting to make it a novelty that Christians serve in the IDF, and not me. According to USA citizenship laws being drafted by the IDF or any other non-USA army is permissable and does not violate the integrity of one's USA citizenship. However, according to USA citizenship laws volunteering for IDF service or service in any non-USA army is a DEPATRIZING action and therefore according to USA citizenship laws Anna King stands to lose here USA citizenship! I do hope that throughout her life she is comfortable with the change!

This is a prefect example of what a well rounded young lady she is - she is so special- have know her since birth and she has been outstanding for years - but this is what is showing the world and people this is what she is really made of - plusas the IDF is made of the best in the world!!! I am proud that Anna is my cousin and that she keeps her faith even though she lives in a Jewish country and is in the IDF. She wasn't even required to join the IDF but she still did.
