1. but wait a minute , Mr.Brodsky
Salma ,   Palestine   (01.26.11)
Do "Israeli" leaders share truth with their people ؟! NO THEY DON’T ! start with yourself, then ask others to do the same. "Israeli" leaders strongly believe that No peace without solution for Palestinian refugees ......and there will be no peace whatsoever unless East Jerusalem -- with every single stone in it becomes the capital of Palestine. After the PLO gave up "78 percent of historic Palestine" , Alas....don't dream of more Concessions.
2. How can one trust the Arabs if they say one thing but
Ester Cohen   (01.26.11)
say something else to their own people, in Arabic?
3. Ms. Brodsky
Palestinian   (01.26.11)
Palestinians know very well that Palestine will be free or no israeli ever smell any peace for .. time to have peace for all
4. #1 salma, one word for you
Eyal ,   USA   (01.26.11)
denial,
5. Pali & Israeli leaders should share truth with their people
Rami of Israel ,   Nazareth   (01.26.11)
Not only palestinian, but also Israeli leaders should share truth with their people. Jewish leaders know very well and should tell their ppl, there will not be peace without palestinian soverienty over east jerusalem including muslim holy sites.
6. From one Brodsky to another .....
Terry Brodsky ,   Eilat - Israel   (01.26.11)
You say they lie to their own people. But, they also lie to us. They lie to Western politicians as well. They lie to the media, they don't call it Paliwood for nothing. And, they lie to each other. They even lie to themselves. Do I detect a pattern here?
7. #5 Rami,
Salma ,   Palestine   (01.26.11)
soverienty over east jerusalem including muslim and Christian holy sites ....I know it 'Christian' was inadvertently omitted from your post ; )
8. #4 she claimes Denial as a part of "historic" Palestine.
Golan ,   Modiin   (01.26.11)
9. #7-After all persecution of Xtians in ME,bombs etc Im sure
Alan ,   SA   (01.26.11)
Pals will be very trusted guardians of Christian Holy sites EVEN right up to the Vatican (if needs be). Also Bethlehem Christians (most of whom have been driven out of that town or are waiting for a Green Card) will second my thoughts
10. Status-quo is just fine.
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (01.26.11)
No real war. Just the usual threats and occasional terrorist attack. It's nothing more than many nations have to deal with. Even Hamas and Hezbollah have been taught a sufficient enough lesson to keep quiet for the foreseeable future.
11. 9 - Alan NO WE DONT AGREE WITH YOU
SD ,   London/Bethlehem   (01.26.11)
Im a Bethlehem Christian and I certainly DO NOT second your thoughts. We are being driven out by a wall that has stolen all our land near Abu Ghneim, Mar Elias, Qubbat Rahael etc, locked us in a ghetto, prevented us from visiting Jerusalem and forced us to drive to Ramallah via Jericho. My family lived under Muslim rule in the Holy Land for over a thousand years and never felt anything like this.
12. Salma #1 the big differences
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (01.26.11)
Is the fact when we disagree with the government gasp we call for new elections, instead of murder. Yes our government doesn't tell us everything during the negotiations. But they are required to bring it to the Knesset for a vote before it is either approved or rejected. Whereas your people have been taught to hate and murder. Genocide is endorsed by the government. We are taught to leave people alone that leave us alone. Those are just some of the small differences between a liberal democracy and a racist thugocracy.
13. What a warped, one-eyed view
r cummings ,   uk   (01.26.11)
At least the Pals put something on the negotiating table. But as always, Israel, offering nothing in exchange. said it's still not enough for us, give us MORE. Proving the PA doesn't have a realistic partner for peace, as the world has suspected all along.
14. Why would one side want to pre-empt
r cummings ,   uk   (01.26.11)
an agreement by blurting out the details of what is being negotiated? Surely they would wait to see what was actually agreed and - knowing Israel's tricks, signed - before going off to sell it to their respective sides? Israelis have a big pill to swallow too they haven't been told about - no united Jerusalem, no Jordan Valley, no Eretz Israel, no more swaggering around in conquerors' uniform and looting Palestinian land. Yep, the trauma clinics for the rightists are going to be very busy.
15. The historically verified true path to peace.
Chaim ,   Israel   (01.26.11)
Historically, long periods of peace follow resounding military victories. It was the Allies' total victory over Germany and Japan, in WW II, with no concessions, which brought permanent peace to Europe and Asia. The same is true for Israel. The historically verified true path to peace for Israel is not more treaties. They haven't worked and never will. Israel must resoundingly defeat the P.A. and "Palestinians", with no concessions. Annex Judea and Samaria and pay Arabs to leave. This is politically incorrect but it is the absolute truth.
16. #13, almost the polar opposite of the truth
Danny   (01.26.11)
The positions stated are the ***ISRAELI*** ones. What appears to be the case is that the Palestinians in private appear to understand this is the contours of the final deal but unable to actually commit.
17. #14, weird...
Danny   (01.26.11)
Kadima in 2006 RAN on a platform of pulling out of the West Bank, Olmert offered - and stated at the time - what the Palestine Papers purport to show the Palestinians are ready to offer. This was and is public knowledge. Thats why there is no shock in Israel about these positions because they are essentially Israeli ones.
18. Salma: we don't trust you
Rami of Nazareth ,   Israel   (01.26.11)
Bethlehem, Gaza, recent event in Egypt and Iraq proves muslims can't be trusted when it comes to protecting the rights (or even the lives) of the Christian minority living amongst them. Christian sites in Jerusalem or should be under Christian control.
19. The Old City
Al ,   LA   (01.26.11)
Take the Old City out of the equation. Make it international, without any "sovereignty" for Jews or Muslims over it. You can't be overlords where the Lord is concerned, anyway. Have a bunch of Danes, Samoans, and Swiss guard it and administrate it, and remove this obstacle from the whole discussion.
20. "East" Jerusalem
Cindy ,   Columbus, OH   (01.26.11)
There is only Jerusalem. Undivided and indivisible.
21. Rami of Nazareth #18 not a chance
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (01.27.11)
This is our land. It will remain our land, and it will remain under our control. Under Jewish control not one single church has been damaged or destroyed, not one has been closed to Christians. This is the way it will be.
22. #11 SD, #19 Al
solomon ,   bklyn   (01.27.11)
#11- With all due respect, you are writing from London. Bethlehem was once 90% Christian. It is now 30% Christian; the exodus began before the wall was built. Christians are leaving due to nonacceptance by Muslims. Bethlehem is open from the wall to the East South East to the South. There is a wall along much of it, yes, but not the ghetto you make it out to be. See: http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=48080 #19- The only time in history, except during the truce at the time of the Crusades, that there has been total freedom of religion for all religions in Jerusalem is now, when the Israelis (yes, Jews) control it. As far as an international city, that was tried in Danzig/Gdansk. No thank you.

nuha ,   nablus   (01.27.11)
rape is not by lie it is always by force . it is the base ..what is apear in israil palastinianconflict is the force more than the lie force is a doing i think force eaquell to idf here not palastinian leaders or the hamass resistence or terror or any name of forces
24. to 19
(01.27.11)
it must be all of the land which is now israil and jordan may it will be the first step towords peace
25. to solomon bklyn
nuna ,   beitlehem   (01.27.11)
time make a sense here first once there was only judism affter 1500 years there was jessus then after 500 years there were moslemes and i think moslemes have faith in their religion more than cristian or jews second moslemesin beitlehem were be the most after 48 and the refugees from the destructed villeges around the city which were be moslemes were staying in camps in the city there are till now -dheesha -alazza ayda -- and they have works trade built houses /christian s travel to the west and many of moslemes from palastine asking a better chance for working and living it is not to escape with teir religion sure the west had freedom for religion --now they think it is a fault -- but there were better chances for living and better chances for trading and working and education ..jews here are not against the religion of people but against their being owners of their lands and their life to travell from one place to other /it was a joke that people from beit lehem can not reach jerusalem to pray in alaksa mosque or any church in jerusalem only if they have a paper from the idf officer it was never like that when the place was under moslemes control
26. to gee#21: treatment of chrisitan by jews
Rami of Nazareth ,   Israel   (01.27.11)
corretion to your post: In 1948 the Haganah uprooted the Christian community of M’gedel, the destroyed church still stands in Megdal Haemek as the only remnant of the Christian community. In 1956 the IDF destroyed the Christian village of Bir’im to prevent residents from coming back. The destroyed church still stands. In 1999 likud government allowed terrorist muslim to illegally build a mosque next to the Nazareth basilica creating frictions and limiting access to our church. In 2006 jewish terrorist Haim Eliaho tried to burn down the Basilica in Nazareth
27. Rami #26 want to really compare?
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (01.27.11)
Four incidents spread over 62 years - wow. Care for me to name the number of synagogues destroyed or built over by Christians? It numbers in the hundreds of thousands. If it is so terrible here, try anywhere else you care for. We are not giving the Arabs another millimeter.
28. @ Rami of f Nazareth,
Salma ,   Palestine   (01.27.11)
what do you want? a Christian state or what? Palestine will not be an Islamic state but a state of all its citizens as the case today, we are one people under occupation, Muslims and Christians, nothing will change
29. To #21
Jewish Warrior   (01.27.11)
That's ancient history. Israel today reespects and allows Christians to pray at their holy sites. And you complain of "failing to prevent" Muslims from building an illegal mosque? Its not our job to get involved every time Arab christians and muslims fight it out (though we do tend to sympathize with christians). You solve your own problems. But all of Israel MUST be under Jewish sovereignty.
30. O rly?
Jewish Warrior   (01.27.11)
What the Pals publicly put on the negotiating table was this: 1967 borders, all of East Jerusalem, unlimited right of return, and territorial contiguity between Gaza and the West Bank .Until they say this publicly, it can never happen. Look how they fiercly deny it: they are afraid of Hamas and their own people. If they propose this plan publicly and are willing to carry it out, then that's great, but Israel's not going to do this just because a few of them privately and fearfully mention this to not even Israelis but American mediators.
