1. So Russia defends Islamo-fascists while bombed by them.
Cynic ,   USA   (01.27.11)
2. Not that it had any impact on the enrichment speed
Peter ,   Vienna-Austria   (01.27.11)
The FSA recently reported that irans enrichment has not slowed down a bit and quite on the contrary,it has gained a lot. And even more, the israeli MI chief just confirmed that iran could be less than a year away from nukes. So I don't understand what all your celebrating was.
3. startling news for you. dropping nuke has worse effect
ralph   (01.27.11)
4. Hallucinating
Harry ,   Toronto   (01.27.11)
Chernobyl has been well documented. It was caused by drunken staff using inferior equipment and who went to sleep on the job. No comparison. I doubt whether this Russian fella has permission from his superiors. He almost sounds like The Saudi Imam who put a Fatwa on Mickey Mouse.
5. Russians are trying to hide their embarrasment
Arthur ,   SF, CA   (01.27.11)
They built it and it was so easily derailed.... The bottom line: if it will ever comes to it - it's better to see a Chernobyl like cloud over Iran than over the Land of Israel.. No guilt about being alive. No guilt - ever.
6. Chernobyl
Matt   (01.27.11)
Ask Iran they were told beforehand.
7. HUH?
Len ,   Australia   (01.27.11)
"The virus which is very toxic, very dangerous, could have had very serious implications," Rogozin said. It "could have lead up to a new Chernobyl." Toxic Software!! I thought it was nuclear material that is toxic and dangerous not computer software!! The Chernobyl Nuclear disaster was a result of the a Russia's backward and total disregard of safety protocols, outright laziness of the nuclear plant technicians and ongoing lack of maintenance. The Stuxnet viral software attacked the nuclear plant's computers. They stopped further work at the plant because the computers cannot operate properly. Nuclear material cannot leak into the atmosphere unless the protective casings of the nuclear materials are cracked or loose joints enabling leakage of nuclear material. Virus Software attacks computer software not physical objects. It can set off devices and switches but the stuxnet wasn't designed to do that. This is just a scare tactic by Russia who are responsible in helping Iran develope their Nuclear capability and because they themselves are now helpless to do anything about the virus.
8. It will be very funny !
David ,   Sao Paulo Brazil   (01.27.11)
9. if they are so afraid why help with nuclear power ?
rachel ,   usa   (01.27.11)
10. #2, not even Iran claims what you are saying
Danny   (01.27.11)
and wasn't Bushehr meant to have gone live in 2009?
11. TALKBACKERS KNOW HERE
Michael ,   California, USA   (01.27.11)
Let me see, isn't one (maybe several?) of the talkbackers on Yenet News an expert on Stuxnet? Didn't I read here a few days ago clear statements identifying who invented, tested and deployed it? And it wasn't the ex-prez Katsav who wanted to divert attention. Well, the experts are sleeping now, but they will be posting here soon with the greatest of confidence. I can't wait to laugh.
12. Calling for Other Nations' Death is What's Risky Behavior
DallasC ,   Canada   (01.27.11)
"Death to Israel, death to America" - those are the cries of a punch-drunk nation on the verge of a disastrous fall.
13. I would love to bake cookies for Stuxnet inventors.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (01.27.11)
Thank you so much sweethearts, you did a great job screwing dummyjad in his nukie-nuke hole.
14. Too Bad
Bernie ,   Hartford, CT USA   (01.27.11)
If the Russians are concerned about nuke "accidents" in Iran, don't help them get nukes for their attempt at holocaust 2 ... Otherwise, keep your mouths shut.
15. Another Chernobyl in Iran?
Charles ,   Paris, FRANCE   (01.27.11)
This sounds like a perfect outcome. What's the problem?
16. re: Russia on "stuxnet" and NATO
joel ,   usa   (01.27.11)
AND WHY SHOULD THE US & NATO INVESTIGATE "FOR RUSSIA" THE STUXNET THAT ATTACKED IRAN'S NUCLEAR FACILITIES, HA? THE UN HAS DEMANDED IRAN TO REFRAIN FROM ITS NUCLEAR MOMB PROGRAM, AND THE "TRAITOR" RUSSIA IS SUPPLYING THE NUCLEAR SYSTEM OF IRAN, ARE RUSSIANS "DUMBED" PEOPLE?
17. In supporting the Iranian opposition,
Norway   (01.27.11)
we could press the regime where it actually feels threatened, in order to overthrow the government we despise. "Leader Ayatollah Khamenei stressed the importance of raising public awareness for the Muslim world as the enemy is using the tools of religion and morality to counter Islam. (Leader urges Iranians to remain vigilant, PressTV, Sat, 26 Jun 2010). Radical Islam-Defeating Iran http://www.torahblogg.net/32628552 Isaiah 51:8-9 "Hearken to Me, you who know righteousness, a people that has My Torah in their heart, fear not reproach of man, and from their revilings be not dismayed. For, like a garment, the moth (see Hosea 5:10-12) shall consume them, and like wool, the worm (41:13-16) shall consume them, but My righteousness shall be forever, and My salvation to all generations." Isaiah 50:7-9 "For the Lord GOD will help me; therefore have I not been confounded; therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed. He is near that justifieth me; who will contend with me? let us stand up together; who is mine adversary? let him come near to me. Behold, the Lord GOD will help me; who is he that shall condemn me? Behold, they all shall wax old as a garment, the moth shall eat them up."
18. Lokks like Russian Hutzpa is even bigger than ours:
tom ,   tel aviv   (01.27.11)
so they think that for the time being, the islamic fascists are doing their bidding regarding breaking down of the so called Western World/Civilisation...? I am convinced that from a russian standpoint another 10.000-50.000 of terror-victims is acceptable(they are used to dying for Mother Russia). If there is another explanation , please tell me !!
19. #2 Apparently you believe everything you read.
(01.27.11)
20. Arthur, I know a few others who think like you do...
Persian CAT   (01.27.11)
the one whose name comes to my mind right now is Bin Laden.
21. #11 It's always nice to see someone falling in love.
(01.27.11)
22. Best Outcome: Iranian Chernobyl
Yakov ,   Tel Aviv   (01.27.11)
First, penetrating the Iranian computer defenses, and infecting them was a work of pure genius. Jewish minds at work. This is why we Israeli's have persisted; brains, guts and will. Should a catastrophic end occurred, as a result of the Iranian penetration, I can't think of a better outcome. It would put a major handicap into the Iranians nuke program, and cause widespread condemnation. Maybe a second try is planned. What an amazing outcome to defeat the Iranian nuke program with an electronic bullet!
23. What went wrong should be investigated
Paqid Yirmeyahu ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (01.27.11)
There should have been an Iranian Chernobyl as a deterrence! It's self-defense in the face of threats to eliminate Israel from the world. What went wrong needs to be fixed so that it works next time.
24. #22 WTF?
Bannister ,   US   (01.27.11)
It was recently reported that the virus( which didn't have that much of an outcome btw) was designed by the assistance of the USA and GERMANY. Quit the BS BRAVADO
25. To #20, Persian CAT
Yakov ,   Tel Aviv   (01.27.11)
No, you are completely wrong. Bin Laden targets civilians, for the purpose of instilling terror, fear and destruction among innocents. The Iranian nuclear program is designed to kill and destroy. Much like Bin Laden. Destroying such a machine is certainly not Bin Laden "like". However, I do agree that a Chernobyl like effect would be sad and terrible, but this is what you get for when your goal is mass murder.
26. Happy over what??!
Mark ,   Netherlands   (01.27.11)
Wasn't there a report on YNET a few days ago, citing that the iranians have not been hindered on their enrichment program? Well, doesn't seem stuxnet had any impact on them...
27. To Peter from Vienna Austria
Mr Green ,   Manchester   (01.27.11)
So whats there to celebrate? Quite quite so Least of all Iran under that creature of the night Ah MAD inejad (He of the Demented Entity) Consider Its estimated that between 25%-35% of GDP is now being sqaundered in his bid for global military domination! Nuclear arms, nuclear enrichment, offensive milititarisation that pro rata EXCEEDS that of pre 39 Nazi Germany Money to sustain the Police State, to sustain Hezbollah, Hamas, Shia Iraq, Hezbollah South America, Caucus Terrorists, back handers to corrupt leaders for political support, internal corruption on a VAST scale....and it goes on and on And its CRUMBS for the majority of Iranians
28. Yakof, "mass murder" of whom?!
Persian CAT   (01.27.11)
First, nothing is destroyed. Second destroying a power plant does not serve any humane purpose other than proving the barbarity of those who attempt it. I'm sorry some Zionist jihadis justify nuclear holocaust just based on fear mongering by their politicians. That's why there's no sunshine between Bin Laden and his Zionist jihadi counterparts.
29. Enemies of Iran failed again
IRAN#1   (01.27.11)
Even genocide and mass murder is not stopping the enemies of Iran and Iranians from trying to implement their evil plans. But as usual they failed as they have failed in the past 30+ years. Now go think about a new genocide plan LOL!!!
30. a speech for obamas ears only from a humiliated russia
zionist forever   (01.27.11)
Whoever developed the Stuxnet I am sure took into consideration what it could do and what the worst case scenario would be. Russia feels a little humiliated their people had to run home tails between their legs because they were scared of infecting their own equipment. They also don't want to risk any future contracts with Iran because their technology is vunrable to western computer viruses. This speech is for the ears of Obama & the rest of NATO sending them a warning not to try anything themselves in future and to make sure Israel doesn't do anything.
