Virus Software attacks computer software not physical objects. It can set off devices and switches but the stuxnet wasn't designed to do that. This is just a scare tactic by Russia who are responsible in helping Iran develope their Nuclear capability and because they themselves are now helpless to do anything about the virus.

Whoever developed the Stuxnet I am sure took into consideration what it could do and what the worst case scenario would be. Russia feels a little humiliated their people had to run home tails between their legs because they were scared of infecting their own equipment.
