Stone throwing is equal to attempt to murder in some countries ,and in some states of the US there were proposals, I don't know whether the legislatures passed the bills. In the Arab uprising in 2000, a Jewish driver was killed by a stone, and at least one woman was killed in her car by Arabs throwing stones.

How awful that a young kid age 19 ended his life here and now... He had everything to gain from life, but he ended his adventure when the sight of religious Jews inflicted hate in his heart... Everyone alone on a hike being attacked by Palestinians with stones(and what else they have with them) would do what these guys did.
