It is perfectly large source, it is not enough to support exporting gas, but for supplying our domestic uses, its perfect. Simply speed up this and focus on energy independence! On the short term we should speed up the Gas fields off of Haifa. In the medium and longer turn we should be developing other forms of energy to be completely energy independent, with the medium term focused on hybrid technology combining battery and combustion technologies to get the max from each technology until fossil fuels can realistically be phased out. In case a Muslim non secular government take over power, and they don't keep agreements with Israel about gas etc, so Israel does not need to keep camp david accords about the sinai. How about, stop the bureaucratic nonsense that is going on with the Israeli government concerning the Leviathan and other gas fields? He forgets to mention that Israel's major power plants (like Hadera) are powered by that good old greenhouse gasser and pollution rich black gold......coal. There is no nightmare. There are two types of gas here: cooking gas for your kitchen, and gas to power a power plant to make electricity. So far as I know, the Egyptian gas is for the power plants, and only makes it to Gaza and the high hills of Judea (and Samria) as electrons, where it lights up our yishuvim (communities) and powers our computers...among other things. I'm not sure of the source of the gas in my stove, but there are lots of alternative sources for it.
