1. Treason deserves death penalty!!
Eliyahu ,   Jerusalem   (01.30.11)
Plain and simple, his acts endangered the security of all the state's citizens. When will our courts realize that they need to deter scumbags like this. Lmaan yir'u veyira'u.
2. Of course his wife defends him. But she still lies!
(01.30.11)
If this is a plea bargain it means that he confessed! No amount of demagogy and slogans will change that! Now what "human rights" and "freedom of expression" does this ugly b....h refer to? Acting for the destruction of Israel is NOT "freedom of expression" - it is actually "activity against the State" and as such, this pathetic Leftist is an enemy agent by any and all International laws. Enemy agents do not have any rights - except for to rot in prison or worse. Makhoul wife should be thankful that they don't live in Iran where people are hung for much less!
3. Send this unnacoutable brazen traitor of the worst kind
Yaawqove ,   Israel   (01.30.11)
in a trash bag to nasrallah. The level of sheer unaccountability, of lying, of self pity, of irresponsibility, of racism from the part of this arab israeli is stupefying. Its also a wake up call! 5th column in Israel. Time to gifure out way to seperate the loyalists from the terrorist sympathizers and activitsts.
4. #1: You are so right! Lazy prosecutors and judges!
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (01.30.11)
In may countries you spy or commit treason you are shot! I am sure that Hezbollah, Hamas, Syria, Iran and others would not hesitate to execute an Israeli who spied or committed treason. Again our prosecutors take the easy way out and the lazy judges allow them to create plea bargains which make a fool of the Israeli judiciary. Where is this country going with corruption in the army and the police, a judiciary which has lost the respect and confidence of the people and a government which is so concerned about its survival that its not governing?
5. Ever notice that these spies' families never admit anything?
Scott ,   USA   (01.30.11)
6. Headline really confused me....
David ,   Shiloh Israel   (01.30.11)
All I first saw was Arab spy given 9 years. It didn't occur to me until I read the article that the incident happened in Israel. Therefore, I was totally amazed trying to work out which Arab country could be so lenient!
7. Why ONLY 9 years?!
Gabi   (01.30.11)
8. Pollard helped an ally and got life! WHY!?
Noy ,   Israel   (01.30.11)
9. Kudos to Israel
Carsten Schmidt ,   Germany   (01.30.11)
This shows how a constitutional and lawful system works. In Iran he would have been hanged...
10. This is a joke! Only 9 years??
Esteban ,   Argentina   (01.30.11)
Dead penalty for this criminal
11. I would hand the man over to Hamas for Shalit.
Tamar   (01.30.11)
12. "Activist?"
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.30.11)
Traitor, is what this piece of crap is. Nine years? What a gift! He should be strung up and his corpse left to the carrion birds.
13. If charges against him are true, then..
Rami of Nazareth ,   Israel   (01.30.11)
let there be no doubt, he deserves to rot in jail, 9 yrs is even too lenient. However, israeli security service are known to exaggerate charges when it comes to Israeli arabs, so i'm not sure we will ever know the whole truth.
14. #12 "strung up and his corpse left to the carrion birds"
London guy ,   London   (01.31.11)
Wow. Getting a bit overbiblical, ain't ya. I think you will be aware that you are probably the only person in the world stupid enough to make a public call for this sort of punishment. I don't believe it was written with any sort of irony, as most often this is a rhetorical device not usually found in the pathetic verbal sniping archive of big-mouthed losers like Sarah Palin. You appear to have graduated from her school.
15. #3 sifting out
London guy ,   London   (01.31.11)
"Time to future out a way to seperate the loyalists from the terrorist sympathizers and activitsts." Strong stuff there bud. You are talking about setting up a thought police. Either that's what you're talking about or you're just shooting your mouth out like some hokey at the saloon.
