1. Never too late fail
Edward   (02.02.11)
With all this, the test is at the root. Torah doesn't permit additions. If you spend your life in the dark a last minute grab at something of substance, it is likely a grab for the wrong thing. Devarim 13. A Test and failure that mocks.
2. Mazal Tov! Better late than never. May you continue till 120

I hope they will serve as an example to young boys who had Bar mizva. Putting every morning the Tefilim, before beginning the day,is an engagement to serve G-D and his people. The egoistic desirata come on the second place. This every day training gives a lot of innerstrength, and also combats harmful ego.And when later these boys have jobs of responsability,we can rely on them ,that they will take the right decisions, that benefits the cause and not their personal ambitions.
4. Ahhh nice story - Mazal Tov!

6. BAR MITZVA IS OPTIONAL --DEFINE YOURSELF
Michael ,   California, USA   (02.02.11)
Have Bar Mitzva if you want it, there is nothing wrong with tradition, but without tradition it is just as well. It depends who you think you are, how you define yourself as a Jew. Here we have a group called "Cultural Jews" which is going strong and which considers bar mitzva optional, just like any birthday party. If you want to know who is a Cultural Jew, here is the definition: "By Jewish I mean participating in a historical consciousness. Not race, not religion, not actual history, but a sense that all Jewish history is mine. Our movement's definition is that a Jew is one who accepts the history, culture and fate of the Jews." I provided you my/our definition of who is a Jew, will you provide me yours? If he wants to have a rabbi by him, let him, but without a rabbi is just as well.
7. #6 Is it really optional?
Josh   (02.03.11)
Careful! Dvearim, the only book written in the first person by the prophet Moses, has something to say about adding traditions and laws to "Torah".

"Cultural Jews"sounds good. But ,don t you think that something misses in your concept to keep Judaisme another 3000 years alife? How many generations -in your lineage-would you like to stay Jewish?.
9. ORA, #8, Ynet Patience?
Michael ,   California, USA   (02.03.11)
Dear Ora, you have asked a good question to which I would like to reply. However, the patience of Ynet News might run out if we exchanged notes on it here. B'gadol, I will say that Caltural Jews are outliving by far the religious Jews worldwide. Religious Jews become Cultural once they become modern. You have my e-mail here.
