1. border infiltration

How about several hundred kilometers of patrolled razor-wire, just as a stop-gap to get some control.....followed by a fence.
2. there is a simple solution

Instead of the IDF commanders saying We haven't started to deal with it then stop talking about not being ready and start taking action to be ready. Armies that just talk about what they can't do loose wars. If its the only option then call up a limited reserve call up to help patrol the border and stop infiltration.
3. STOP THE WE CAN NOT
LARRY ,   US ARMY RETIRED   (01.31.11)
TALK HAS ISRAEL BECOME ASSIMULATED SO MUCH TO US DOCTRINE THAT THEY WILL ALLOW THOUSANDS OF BORDER CROSSINGS AS THE US DOES FROM MEXICO ANY OTHER COUNTRY WOULD SHOOT TO KILL INVADERS STATION A HUNDED THOUSAND TROOPS AT THE BORDER LAND MINE THE DAMM EARTH AND DO CHOPPER FLY OVERS EVERY 2 MINUTES ARMED WITH HELLFIRE MISSLES .ISRAEL WAS BORN WITH THE CAN DO SPRIT
4. What about real refugees
Ali ,   Scotland   (01.31.11)
from Egypt,Egyptian refugees? Will Israel give refuge to neighbours and allies ?
5. What does it take?
Rachel ,   US   (01.31.11)
To get Bibi off his azz? He's been in office 2 YEARS. There are reports of 100 infiltrators a night crossing into Israel. When is he going to get serious about it? When they number half a million. What is he waiting on? He talks about the threat they pose but what has he done to combat it? I have heard that Barak is dragging his feet on completing the fence. If true, why is this tolerated by Bibi? This is why people are giving Yvette a second look.
6. One question
Nadia ,   USA   (01.31.11)
Asoulay says he worried about the IDF's ability to protect the borders against infiltrators. Did he offer any forgo religious deferments for 18 years olds so they could join the IDF and help protect the border. I didn't think so.

There are no real refugees there are people who are trying to flee violence but they are not refugees and nobody is going to kill them if they stay. Short term political trouble doesn't create a refugee crisis. We don't want these people seeking refuge in Israel, they can go to other parts of Egypt if they want to get away from the violence not come to israel. As for the idea of Egypt being an ally thats a joke. Israel & Egypt have a cold peace and we sometimes work together for mutual benefit but that doesn't make us allies.

Sarah Not a bad idea, certainly more practical than moaning about what we can't do. How would you like to be chief of staff?
9. The IDF better be ready for a lot more
LT COL HOWARD ,   WASHINGTON DC USA   (01.31.11)
. These are grave times. Hamas has actively put forces into Egypt. The Moslem brotherhood which is been standing aside and observing the turmoil has now entered into the turmoil. All revolutions start off sweetly… Then the organized radicals who have been standing on the sidelines take over. Israel should be on alert and count itself fortunate that it did not give more “land for peace.” Had Israel taken its "opportunity "as urged by Israeli leftists( and by much of the world) to sign peace treaties with the Palestinians, with the Syrians, and with others Israel would have given up many tangible things for vacuous words which will now be disowned as"not binding" as they came from a previous "corrupt, and traitorous” regime. I wish my Israeli friends well but urge them not to listen to any foreign “advisor” such as Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama or the European Union or the Russians. Only Israel can protect itself. You live in the Middle East! Do you believe that anything has changed will change.?
10. When did IDF try stop infiltrators?
tejas ,   India   (01.31.11)
They cross border even the in the presence of IDF soldiers. And most of the times IDF soldiers pick them up on the border and bring in the Israel in vehicles. I know about it but people living there are ignoring this fact. I bet, after few years people will be afraid to make aliya.
