1. Why does this self-elected court stick their dirty nose
Joe   (02.03.11)
into everything? Israel, like the rest of the Middle East countries, is not a democracy and never was. When will the civilians in Israel wake up?

Wrong on both counts. 1. The court is as self-elected as the US Supreme Court. There is a Nominations Committee on which the three branches of government are represented. The approval/selection is made by the President of Israel. The US has the additional step of the approval of congress of a nominee who was not "elected" but selected by a special panel. 2. Kindly explain your ridiculous statement that Israel is not a democracy and never was. I suggest you stick to facts and not fantasy.
3. Naveh

It was his duty, to kill targeted or none targeted terrorists.
4. 1,2,3.

2 is 100% correct. Either we are a nation based on the rule of law or we're like our neighbours to the south, east and north. And if we are a nation based on the rule of law then whoever makes those kind of remarks disparaging thye High Court is effectively flouting the law. He should not really be trusted even temporarily with the lives of our children, and I say our children because I'm not so sure that either 1 or 3 have children who are serving in or about to serve in the IDF, as I do. Rednecks should keep their dirt little thoughts to themselves, especially if they express them from as so very far away from our reality as Brooklyn.
5. Violation of "Univ.Declar. Human Rights#2,13,18&30"

No govt./Court can takeaway your Human Rights on residence in Gush Katiff/Shmrone

Although I'm not sure what this has to do with the subject, you are correct that no court can take away your human rights. The court can limit where you live while considering health, safety and the common good (you could not build a house in the middle of a road). This might especially hold true in Gush Katiff/Shomron as presently, it is not an official part of Israel.
7. #4 - I have kids and I still support Naveh
William ,   Israel   (02.03.11)
Because it isn't the "flouting of law" that gets our kids killed by racist Arab terrorists and their sympathizers, its allowing yourself to become targets because the law blocks attempts at protection and targeting armed militants from the other side. Which do you think will place your kids at risk....Naveh ignoring the High Court and targeting known, active terrorists....or allowing these same terrorists to live and continue targeting your kids (and other Israeli kids at will). Will you feel ok to say to your family "I am so mad that the terrorists attacked my son's base but thank G-d the IDF upheld the High Court and didn't attack the terrorists first. I can sleep well knowing we are a law-abiding moral nation"?
8. #2 incorrect
jerry ,   haifa   (02.04.11)
In the U.S. the judiciary has NO say in choosing a Supreme Court justice. In Israel the Supreme cOURT HAS A SUBSTANTIAL ROLE PLUS TWO OTHER LAWYERS. THEY END UP CHOOSING THEIR CLONES..
