The choices were Hamas or Fatah...not really a democratic choice here, but still better than Saddam's Iraq. But Hamas lost their democratic mandate the minute they launched a bloody coup so their legitimate rule ended in 2007, according to PLO election law and intl laws. Right now, Hamas has a lower rating (<20%) than Bush had when we left office and Bush had the whole Left gunning for him.
