1. So it true Anti-Semitic starts
John ,   Accra,Ghana   (02.08.11)
with Jews and end up with non-Jews?.What about arabs calling for Jews to be attacked?.I don't see the state hunting those arabs down. This government is a lefti one.
2. rabbi
BIGGUS DICKUS ,   wOME   (02.08.11)
throw the relic in jail ...i have no problem in volunteering to go and fetch him.....the law is the law and no one stands above it....
3. "humiliation of the torah"
nadav ,   tlv israel   (02.08.11)
seriously? these quacks should be put in the jail! I have no problem with the state silencing ignorance, hatred, and superstition!
4. Instead of protesting Rabbi Lior's arrest warrant
(02.08.11)
you should protest the endless non-democratic corrupt Left justice system elected by themselves Mafia style. It's high time for a supposedly state to stop the apathy and replace them democratically.
5. Aha ! "murder of non-Jews is political opinion"!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Salma ,   Palestine   (02.08.11)
Rabbi Lior, what about murder of Jews ?! Is it a political opinion as well ?!
6. Charge him with incitment to murder
Avi ,   Israel   (02.08.11)
His incitment to murder is an offence and he is not above the law. This is not about freedom of speach this is incitment to murder. He should be tried in a court and if found guilty charged and sentenced. Whose he going to incite murder against next ? Seculars, single mothers ? Just imagine if a priest issued a statement that its ok to kill jews > He would be screaming from the roof tops antisemitism. The man is dangerous and poses a threat to the public, hope he gets a long jail sentence. 1000 protesters ? more like 1000 brainless sheep who have long lost the ability to think from themselves. Israel is a democratic country and not a country run according to Jewish law, end of.
7. Humility not the Rabis strong point-Cultist?
Jonny ,   South Africa   (02.08.11)
When a Rabi thinks he is above other human beings, then we definately have a problem. Not the religion I was brought up in, but rather a cult.
8. The KGB of Communist Israel at its finest
(02.08.11)
while the racist Arab MK Ahmad Tibi sits in the kenesset.
9. What's happening with Israel?
Bruria S   (02.08.11)
Let me understand this--he gave approval to a book that discusses Torah law in times of war and he is arrested? Meanwhile, people are being attacked on a daily basis and nothing is done? We need to have an election and clean house! Sadly, while America is the "trefa medina ", we do have a First Amendment right to free speech and religious choice, and this State action would never pass muster here. Where is your religious public? Where are your legal scholars and human rights activists in defense of religious freedom- or does that only exist for muslims?
10. He brings shame on the Jewish nation
Leah ,   Ramat HaSharon   (02.08.11)
He brings shame and disrespect on the jewish nation. Is jewdism a religion of killing and murder? The more i hear stories like this the more i want nothing to do with jewdism and religion.
11. He ceases to be a Rabbi
Yakov ,   Tel Aviv   (02.08.11)
Because he is a Rabbi, he is above the law? Because he is a Rabbi, he is better than the law? He is a bad example of Judaism, and of what being a good Rabbi means. He is an outlaw! Nothing more. A man, who has been corrupted by power, is no Rabbi.
12. No, that's not am ha'eretz
R ,   Haifa   (02.08.11)
I am religious and I say that Lior is an AH ( and I don't me am ha'eretz).
13. which law runs this country ?
Dave B ,   Israel   (02.08.11)
last para quotes Kiryat Arba councilman Bentzi Goffstein said. "This is defiance against the rule of Torah. Torah law precedes state law." herein lies the clash of two worlds and the source of a future civil war when settlers will be forced to relinquish their escapades.....
14. 2, 3, 5, 6, 11
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (02.08.11)
#5 You did not read the book, only a description of the book by a Leftist who did not read it either. The book is morally no different than Machiavelli's "The Prince", Sun Tzu's "Art of War", the Koran or even the Fourth Geneva Convention. #2, #3, #6, #11 You did not read the book (written by Rabbis Shapira and Elitzur) and don't know what Rabbi Lior thinks of the book. One thing for sure, you should first demand the investigation of Zimmerman and Sternhell who clearly called for the murder of Jews.
15. Go and see...
Ariel ,   São Paulo - Brazil   (02.08.11)
What is written in arab israeli school books. Go and ear what the mulas ara sayng in the mosques of Israel. Why you do not use the same measure to them?
16. Freedom of Religion for Northern Islamic Groups in Israel
Art ,   Israel   (02.08.11)
to rant on and on about destroyhing the Jewish state and doing away with Jews. Israel foolishly allows pro genocidal Islamic groups to spout their venom. ..whereas.. This one Jewish rabbi is only talking about self defense! Yet he is ordered to jail. ...un-freaking-believable
17. It is
Ralph ,   Caesarea   (02.08.11)
unacceptable to let a rabbi insulting goyim. This rabbi insults G'd and his creation.
18. Perhaps he needs a lesson from Torah on judicial processes
Josh   (02.08.11)
He mocks Rabbis everywhere. They say they are filling in the role as the judges mentioned in the Tanach. Clearly when a judge mocks the law, he is no real judge after all. If he cannot face the charges and answer the questions without bearing false witness, what is he doing in that role. He is unaware of how justice is served by investigation? Fire him as a Rabbi or allow the Jewish people to be looked down on? What will they say if our own claime spiritual leaders and judges thwart law?
19. Who? What?
A Jerusalemite ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (02.08.11)
1. This so-called rabbi considers himself to *be* the Torah?!? 2. This is not the work of "some clerk", but integral to the Declaration of Independence of the State of Israel. The so-called 'rabbi' claims that he believes in the State - if so he must accept that non-Jews have equal rights within the State. 3. The supporters of the "rabbi" are simply uneducated fanatics, nothing more.
20. Good job, Rabbi;
Al Mujahid   (02.08.11)
you showed the true face of Judaism.:)
21. gentle sperm? Barbaric offspring
Not Chochom at all ,   Il   (02.08.11)
Is Mr Lior speaking for himself- projecting himself The greater the man the humbliest This guy is dangerous and stupid with initiative-someone who dares talk like that is nothing but
22. The Law is the Law, Is There a Law?
Noah Lev ,   HollywoodUSA   (02.08.11)
This is all absurd, ridiculous. Anyone advocating murder of another human being, should be held accountable udner the law. The 10 commandments seem irrelevant to the good rabbi. Killing is one thing, murder another. If human shields are used..the responsibility is on those that forced or encouraged this madness. In effect, waves ot Chinese, Russians, Iranians, were human shields..to use up the ammo. In war, civilian laws are moot. Its about winning and staying alive. The rabbi, wrote a book...and gave HIS interpretations., under the umbrella of the bible. This is commonly done by clerics. He should be criticized soundly, and advised to avoid inflammatory speech and writing, which might influence others. Freedom of sppech, even by clerics, does not allow yelling "fire in a theatre" unless there is a fire. Lets not get carried away with this, and further divide an already too divided country.
