Why is it that in Israel any accusation against a simple official has to have the approval of the Attorney General? Can any Lawyer explain this to me? I understand this in the case of the President or the case of a member of the Knesset, but also for a city Rabbi? Isn't this officializing "protekzia" to the establishment? Innocent until proven guilty. If he indeed committed a crime then unfortunately he will have to pay for it, but please don't judge a person like this until you have been in the same situation as he is or was. One thing I am sure of is he did have not have any intentions to harm these boys even though unfortunately these young men will be scared for life. I just want to add if Rabbi Elon has said he is not guilty then I have to believe him, I don't know him personally but the man is a high figure, a celebrity and A Rabbi. Yes I know people in high places have been guilty, they have committed crimes and deserve to be punished. And yes I could be wrong but I take my chance and bet on Rabbi Elon is innocent, friends who personally know him have told me the same. As I said previously a person is innocent until they are proven guilty. Remember this is about having sexual relations with a minor. Its not about sexual relations with an adult, if Rabbi Elon had sexual relations with an adult that's his affair and no one should judge him for that, same sex attraction is common with many people even heterosexuals who don't want to admit these attractions.

I haven't followed this case, however if he is guilty then it's a simple that part of his brain is messed up and we don't know how to fix it. There also is some amount of choice mixed in there.
