1. "each of the nations"?
jason white ,   afula,israel   (02.12.11)
I thought we were living in the same ntion,Israel. Why would Jewish parents want their children to learn with the children of those that do not want a Jewish state of Israel? In the middle of a war you do not send your children to study in a school in enemy territory and sit with potential enemies.
2. Oh well at least we tried. Back to the drawing board.
Nick Sporek ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (02.12.11)
At least the Arabs are getting a better education and have less of a chance of being brainwashed by the PA or Hamas.
3. Social experiment - epic fail
Dummies ,   idiotsville   (02.12.11)
coexistence doesn't start by forcing Jewish children and Arab children together.
4. If I had kids I would like to send them to this school
Rachel ,   Tel Aviv   (02.12.11)
Dont give up! This school is a wonderful idea, you need to promote yourself better and maybe invest in a school bus to take children each morning and afternoon to and from the jewish areas to the school, then maybe the parents will feel their kids are safer outside its walls. Keep up the good work!

Israelis complain that the PA, Hamas, etc. continue to teach arab children to hate Israel, to kill Israelis. This is true and it is the right thing to keep bringing this to the world's attention. This school is an attempt to change the situation in at least one school. Do you prefer the status quo?
7. Close the school.
Heather Czerniak ,   Mississauga, Canada   (02.12.11)
It's a failed experiment that will continue to fail. No Jewish parent wants his/her child exposed to that kind of a hostile learning environment.

willful denial of the jewish lady who works at the school=unbelievable. oh, sure, the political situation and violence didn't make jewish families leave.... like the arabs just welcome jews with open arms like they have for the past 1400 years. yeah, right.
9. to #6 If you had a knowledge of Israeli

geography, the you would know kfar kara (qara) is in Israel. The schools there are under the ISRAELI ministry of education and not the p.a. or ham-ass.All the schools, it is an arab town in wadi ara. I remember growing up in N.Y. and it seems like the Jews from Brooklyn had more intelligence back then.
10. Tacism and segregation go hand in hand..
Mikesailor ,   Miami, FL   (02.12.11)
Funny how, in this article, not one example of such endemic 'violence' is reported. Instead, it seems, that external pro-segregation forces are to blame. And such pro-segregation ideologies are lauded within Israel. The US dealt with this stupidity during the 50's and 60's. Many parents felt the pressure to oppose desegregation because of fear of the 'other' within our midst. After a few generations, the fear not only dissipated but basically ended. Yet, it seems, Israeli Jews wallow in this fear and wish all others to wallow in it also. When you allow public money to enforce segregational tendencies you wind up with the poor and fractured educational system you now enjoy.
11. #10 did u read the article? "pro-segregation forces"
rebecca ,   Modiin   (02.12.11)
Nothing in the article mentioned Ideology forces". People are scared for their children's lives.. Israelis should not risk their children's lives for some Americans ideology.
12. An admirable project. Bravos to those who tried. Come back!

13. #11... Did you read my response???
Mikesailor ,   Miami, FLl   (02.12.11)
What exactly are you talking about? There are no examples of any violence committed within school grounds or anywhere. Only fear. Why do you continue to allow fear to rule your lives? I didn't read of anything other than fear. The grounds for such fear: unknown. Tell me, are other schools catering to both Israeli Jews and Arabs contemplated or existing in any other area? If not, then why not? Why is segregation so universally approved by Jews? Apparently the Arab students have no problem going to class with Jews, why do Jews have such a problem going to class with Arab students?
14. Correct u r Mikesailor. Blame religion 4 racism/segregation

You misunderstood my TB. My point was that this school is trying to teach coexistence. Arab children in Israel are taught of the "Naqba". This way they see and know the other side through other children. Yes, it's Israeli, not Hamas. But it's a start.
