1. Dictatorship has ended? Not very likely.
Al Levy ,   good4one2@yahoo.com   (02.12.11)
It looks like there is a big party, but after this weekend Egyptians will wake up to the fact that they are not living in a democracy. Why would anybody think that "dictatorship" is over? The Arabs have a long proven history of replacing one dictator with another.
2. enjoy your brief, fleeting moment of freedom
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (02.12.11)
before you live the rest of your lives under your new islamic dictator masters. like the gazans who now long for the "good old days" of the occupation, something tells me we'll be hearing the moans of egyptians about the "good old days" of the mubarak dictatorship.
3. Egypt dictatorship over ?
DT ,   TA Israel   (02.12.11)

Addressing US President Barack Obama's comparison between the uprising in Egypt and the revolutions sparked by Martin Luther King and Mahatma Gandhi, Salum said "he should stop with his nonsense, because the US took part in the destruction of Egypt. We all knew Mubarak was taking orders from the US on how to deal with his people. COMMENT - By - By - Yankees !. Further - "Obama should focus on his next term, we'll manage on our own. Just as we ousted Mubarak, we'll oust anyone who tries to harm the Egyptian people," she said. COMMENT - Possibly !. Further - Another protestor, Shawakat Hussein, said the fact that Mubarak transferred power to the Egyptian military saved him from being assassinated by protestors. COMMENT - Mubaraks Transfer of Power saved EGYPT , and ALSO from a Bloody Massacre, and that was His intention. Orao.Srbia.

Mark of Lewiston ,   Lewiston USA   (02.12.11)
The sky was still above the Earth. The Caliphate had no arisen. Iran did not rule Egypt. Nobody was calling for war with Israel. The only goose stepping was in North Korea. The changes in Egypt appear to have nothing to do with Israel.. Why not wait and see what happens before declaring the end of the world? Babylon has not been rebuilt. Nobody could or did predict accurately when the Berlin Wall fell. Life even went on in Japan when Hirohito became human.

9. Dictatorship in Egypt is over? Long live Military coup!

Christian ,   Sweden   (02.12.11)
and Martin Luther King? So much for the peaceful system change in Egypt. This president of the US is really amazing in his double talk. Mubarak was forced to step down by violent riots in combination with a military coup supported by the Obama administration. The US intervention/military coup was effective in the moment Mubrak was denied to use the necessary force to put down the riots. When the police was ordered from the streets and the army went in as a third neutral part the coup was in its way and the days for Mubarak were counted. The question was no longer if but only when.
11. # 10 So?
Palestinian   (02.12.11)
The people of Egypt did not like a dictator to rule them brutally for another 30 years. Its the will of the people of Egypt not Sweden?
12. Watch out
Diamond Tom ,   Lagos, Nigeria   (02.12.11)
I think Israel should be be on the watch out for the next move of the so called Egyptian revolution. When Saddam Hussein fell the people rejoice but their joy was short lived by the sporadic violence and sectarian clashes that erupted like a volcano. The region needs stability not necessarily democracy.
13. To our Egyptian neighbours
Ruth Rasnic ,   Israel   (02.12.11)
We all know how revolutions strart. Nobody can predict their outcome. The people of Egypt could face a rude awakening. It takes years to build up sufficient jobs for the hundreds of thousands of unemployed people. It takes several years to plan and build many buildings as homes for young couples. One needs patience, a good government, and conviction that the future will be better. I wish the people of Egypt a bertter future and much patience.
14. The politics of politics.
Ernest ,   Jordan   (02.12.11)
It's not a fair assessment to blame the United States or Israel on the conditions Egyptians were having to endure during the tenure of former President Mubarak. To think that people with good intentions would have condoned the dire circumstances many Egyptians were living under doesn't seem logical. The agreements nations make to safeguard their interests are only that in a whole. President Mubarak was ever so active in allowing negotiators to meet in Egypt to discuss ongoing disagreements with Israel and Palestine, with Fatah and Hamas and with the much hoped for prisoner swaps to return Gilad Schalit. And this has been very much appreciated. That's what made the news more than the plight Egyptians were living. If there were someway leaders could have known and been able to communicate it with Egypt, or any other nation for that matter, then it would have been and still would be a route that could be looked at to be able to follow through with it without stirring up any feelings of being disrespected, dishonored, stirring up hostilities or jeopardizing agreements that have been made in the name of peace between nations. Governments are trying to formulate ways to see about the welfare of people in their own lands working in this world economy. God bless Egypt in forming as ideal a humane government as possible.
15. Problem solved ?
Gabe Yakmore ,   Canada   (02.12.11)
Free at last to face the same miserable conditions of their daily life. Egyptians have now a free choice between Islam or Democracy. Will they settle for something else ?
16. Just Admit The Truth, the USA Saved...
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (02.12.11)
Your butts again! Go ahead, put us down, make fun of us, even hate us, that's your right. But at the end of the day it was a USA trained and equipped military that saved your country from descending into chaos. Mubarak did the right thing, he put his ego aside for the sake of his country. Now I'm sure the military helped him with that decision. After all, to be the leader of the most powerful Arab nation for over 30 years, then have to leave in shame, is no easy thing. But I have no sadness about it, he'll live out the rest of his life (he is 82, so how long will that be?) and his family are financially set for life. I have no doubt with corruption that is common in ALL Muslim countries, the leaders always leave rich. I have no idea how much money he stashed away, but if Arafat could steal billions from his people and still be regarded as a hero, only Allah knows how much Mubarak got away with? Currently, Arafat's widow lives on $25,000 - $40,000 dollars per week. Depending on the news source you read. So she gets somewhere between $1.3 million dollars - $2.1 Million dollars a year. Now that's just her allowance, we have no idea what she has stashed and where? So I don't cry for Mubarak.
17. Egypts Freedom?
Moragh   (02.12.11)
For the Egyptians I certainly hope so, but it is most unlikely. In fact, like the rest of the arab world, egypt has just become a new member. I hope they realize that their freedom is gone forever. Egypt is now just another bagatel piece of land that the present-day arabs will soon change. The freedom seking Egyptians have lost their only chance of ever being completely free. Watch your back Egypt, you have no idea what you are in for! Your presently won fight for freedom is worth damn all now!
18. #7 " Last I Checked"
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (02.13.11)
You must be kidding, you're blind, the facts are all around you “Nobody was calling for war with Israel” You omitted to mention that both Syria & Iran, who are both calling for a fresh war, Syria wants the Golan returned, Iran wants Israel destroyed “The changes in Egypt appear to have nothing to do with Israel” The changes have a lot to do with Israel, The new Egyptian Government may want to abrogate their treaty with Israel, which would wind up in a brand new war . Once a windbag, always a windbag, There you go, proving it again I'm eagerly waiting for you to tell me where you gained your so-called expertise I gave you my CV; I’m still waiting for yours, branch of service, MOS and all that sort of stuff What have you done for your country ? One thing is for certain, you should be working for U.S. Intelligence, you’re as inept as they are..Ask Mr. Clapper for a job, you’ll fit right in Next time we talk, just for a rare treat, talk about someplace you've Actually seen or experiences you’ve actually had, put down your comic books and come do to earth As I've said before, you're just a windbag,
19. #8 Salma - Same play
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (02.13.11)
Just a new set of actors Egypt will remain a military Dictatorship Arabs don't have the vaguest idea of what a Democracy is, they don't have a single Arab exampel to emulate I asked you to name one, I'm still waiting for you to come up with it's name
