1. The Egyptian people will regret this
Ted   (02.15.11)
Their dream to get instant change and higher income will not happen (it is an unreasonable dream) They have lost a capable leader in the process. President Mubarak, may God bless you as you have blessed Israel, and show you His mercy.
2. hamas, has no self-respect !
BENJAMIN ,   SINGAPORE   (02.15.11)
There the man is dying here they change the names of the hospitals... lack of kindness and compassion.. Mubarak's wishes to die on his own soil must be granted, as of his right ! EVERY OTHER RIME OR REASON IS VOID FOR HUMANITY !
3. Mubarak`s intestinal cancer
Nora Tel Aviv   (02.15.11)
can be devastating . Specially if he refuses to take his medecine. Mubarak goes...Tahrir comes. Long live Tahrir.
4. A lesson to all the dictators in Middle East
Misha Catov   (02.15.11)

5. Sorry, I Can't Get Excited About This
emanon ,   USA   (02.15.11)
It sounds like too much of a set-up. Next will be a series of of reports on "miracle" recoveries and "mystery" relapses until his natural demise . . . in maybe ten years time or so. I mean, come on, look at his age.
6. he should have faked a health problem on firday
zionist forever   (02.15.11)
On Friday he should have faked a health problem and got out with dignity. He was almost certainly going to resign Thursday but he was furious with Obama for his criticism so he decided to stick it out. All he needed to do was on the Friday have Suleiman announce the president has had a heart attack as a result of the stress of the last couple of weeks. Allah be praised he is still alive and just to prove it we are letting the TV cameras into his hospital room. Sadly the presidents doctors have advised him to stand down for health reasons. He will then take his $70 billion and announce he is off to a clinic of some kind in another arab state or Europe but he will return to his beloved Egypt as soon as his health returns. He knew the game was up before he quit and the smart thing would have been to try get out with dignity because of a health problem.
7. #1 and #2 spouting nonsense
Hostage   (02.15.11)
Mubarak has imposed an Israeli-sponsored blockade on Gaza. There is no reason for anyone there or in Egypt to be grateful to a corrupt dying dictator.
8. Interesting...
A Jerusalemite ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (02.15.11)
Interesting that this illness is not being reported on **any** main stream media... One must question its veracity.
9. MIGHT AS WELL................................
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (02.15.11)
That he dies.......................but after returning all the stolen assets belonging to the people of Egypt.Nothing good came out from this dictator and his absence is hardly going to be missed in Egypt. This may not be so in one or two countries, though.

Marco ,   Spain   (02.15.11)
Good to read ur posts again Mahmood. A Lebanese friend once explained to me what the phrase 'yomhel wala yohmil' means.... I guess it applies to Mubarak today... Good riddance....
13.  Kicking a man when he is down .
Roland Seener ,   London England   (02.15.11)
Stability ruined as there is no natural progression with a recognised incoming regime .No Manifesto to vote for.Dictatorship has been known to them since the time of the 'Pharoas'.What Political innovations can the Egyptians expect ? .Too bad they haven't ever evolved politically for their betterment The result in the Arab world as usual is that they have chosen 'Anarchy'.What a shame.
14. Tragic
Ilan ,   Ariel   (02.15.11)
Mubarak saw himself as essential to the stability and well being of Egypt. In retrospect he should have found someone to continue his legacy from outside his family sooner. Still it is a tragic end to the near absolute ruler of the country. I hope that Abbas and Assad are paying attention to Mubarak's fate. There is much less reason to mourn their passing than that of a leader that dedicated his life to his people.

20. To: No. 19
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.15.11)
Perfect non sequitur. Would that be all oppressers AND those who support Israel? What about those oppressers who do NOT support Israel? No shortage of those. And if these oppressors are removed from power, how would you feel if the governments that replace them are supporters of Israel? Can you be a little more specific please? I think you've been smoking too much of your tea, man.
21. ***Sarah*** You are too much for the poor
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (02.16.11)
