"My hope and expectation is that we are going to continue to see the people of Iran have the courage to be able to express their yearning for greater freedom and a more representative government," Obama said. Comment - Your Hope and expectation will end in Blood, if this People have the Courage to continue expressing their Opinion this way. Further - But Obama, who has led international efforts to impose sanctions on Tehran because of its nuclear program, insisted the United States "cannot ultimately dictate what happens inside of Iran. Comment - We know - We know - Your Words of the US are just that, Words, As in the case with the Kurds in Irak. Therefore You and the US are Loosers in Bouth Cases. Orao.Srbia.

6. it sounds like...
tom ,   toronto, canada   (02.15.11)
"you've got to get out ahead of change; you can't be behind the curve." it sounds like obama is taking his own advice, in preparation for next year's presidential election. but notice that he makes no reference whatsoever to morality - his advice is purely about the politics of image management. even a single moment's reflection would have shown him the folly of this "advice": the mullahcracy neither wants to follow in mubarak's footsteps, nor to obey orders from "the great satan". on iran, obama is late, ineffective, and foolish. i.e. true to form. "brother, can you spare some change?"
7. ill-considered folly
tom ,   toronto, canada   (02.15.11)
president obama's enthusiasm for protesters in the moslem world could backfire on the united states, and badly. it is astonishing to see the white house's lack of wisdom or common sense in the last 3 weeks - there are many other authoritarian regimes outside of tunisia and egypt. has he considered, for example, the effect of unrest in saudi arabia on world oil prices? and even though the united states doesn't rely on saudi oil any more, a spike in the world price would both hurt the american recovery, and push interest rates higher. (at a time of record-breaking government deficits, higher interest rates will only increase bank profits and impoverish the country.) and what about pakistan? will president obama also support "democracy" in a country that's already overrun by the taliban, and which possesses a working nuclear arsenal? is that also the kind of change that he wants to "get out in front of"? how come the big policy analysts in washington haven't figured this out, or if they have, why isn't the white house listening?! advertising slogans are great for selling sugared water (or for political campaigns), but not so good as the basis for international relations.
8. palidov, kiev#3
john   (02.15.11)
Do you support the oppressed people of Chechnya? if not ! Then you are a Hippocrite.
9. Words, words
mike cato ,   USA   (02.15.11)
Obama, the nominally Muslim President, is very good with words. He and the ayatolahs in Iran know very well that there will be no significant DEEDS.
10. I'm wondering if the people who start
Steven Wilson ,   Anchorage, Alaska   (02.15.11)
these mob riots with Facebook and twitter, can be held liable for the people who are inadvertantly killed during these little experiments in the Middle East. As we destabilize and subject the populations to a Facebook riot brought on by a mob formation.....are we accountable for the deaths that occur under our watch, as we encourage carnage through out technology in hand? Imagine all the Lawsuits Obama and George Soros could be paying for. Like they didn't have a hand in the total destabilization of the Middle East. Obama encourages the people of Iran to revolt while he has no intention of helping them if the revolt fails. Super Man......with no Super Powers. Maybe he could send some letters of condolence for all the victims killed in these little social experiments that he is instigating and condoning.
11. 3# Their blood was warm before they shot them.
Steven Wilson ,   Anchorage, Alaska   (02.15.11)
Get your story straight.
12. Obama's popularity way down in Israel but up in US
Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, Texas   (02.15.11)
While Obama is losing support in Israel and with many US Jewish groups, over all he is still gaining. The Catholics seem to be backing Obama more now, due to Vatican statements and actions of many S. American countries recognizing PA state.
13. Obama, stop talking like a Pope
Nora Tel Aviv   (02.15.11)
The 21st of August cthe Russians vwill instal the rods in Busheir finally achieving Iran`s nuclear instalation dream. And what does Obama do ? YAKETI YAK.

15. Regime change in Iran does matter for you...
SyrianFreedomEagle   (02.15.11)
This is another phantastic day in our region! I fully support the Iranian people in overthrowing the Khameini dictatorship. But what are the implications of a possible regime change in Iran for israiyel? Well, if we consider Moussavi as the representative of this regime change, I have to tell you, my good yysraiieli friends, that Moussavi is not really your friend. He does not like you... He is one of many million people in our region, who do not like to spend their vacation in iesraeiel (a very mild formulation, I know!). Moussavi is one of the strongest supporters of Iran's nuclear weapon and he considers isruiel as a "cancerous tumour." So, I really have to disappoint your dreams about security and stability. The uprising in Iran will give the Iranian regime more time to develop more nuclear weapons. And the best of it: Even if the regime is changed, the alternative, new regime will continue to develop more nuclear weapons. Now, I have to make a new cup of tea. I am really enjoying this turbulant times in the ME. I invite you to become part of it! ;-)
16. *3 Palidov - yep your a racist anti-Semitic bigot.

19. Obama praises Ethiopian Dams constructed along the Nile
Ethiojegna ,   Addis Ababa Ethiopia   (02.16.11)
Today, Ethiopia has built 4 dams along the Nile River. President Obama congradulated Prime Minister Meles Zenawi and called upon Egypt to "go screw yourself" Egypt's response was to withdraw 70 million egyptians to saudi arabia (their origional country of origin)
20. #15 It doesn't matter how Mousavi feels toward us
Tahl   (02.16.11)
More and more Iranian youngsters nowadays realize that faraway Israel is not their enemy, and feel very little commitment to the Palestinians. Why should they really? Because that's what their currupt and tyrannical government tells them to? If anything, this only weakens their sentiments against Israel - they reason that if their evil government hates Israel so much, then there must be something good about Israel... As for Mousavi, it doesn't matter much what he thinks about Israel. Because he is carried by the voices of the masses on the streets, and these voices long for a different leadership, more freedoms, end to tyranny, end to belligerance, end to the provocations, end to the sanctions in Iran, end to economic stagnation, and cooperation with the West. Thus, if the revolution is completed and Mousavi takes control of Iran, he would have to dance to the tune of the West, which would force him to give up the nukes, and stop Iran's backing of Hizbullah and Hamas. The Ayatollahs tried this road, and it only brought misery to the Iranian people. These people will not let their country make the same mistakes again. And by the way. It is quite hypocritical for a Syrian to preach about freedom.
21. Regime Change?
robertsgt40 ,   usa   (02.16.11)
Looks like Obama would like to see regime change in Iran. I'm guessing it would be similar to the regime change was instigated in 1953 by Eisenhauer that brought the Shau of Iran to power. It needs to be a US aproved thug. Now I get it.
