Over the Chinese New Year, the Sharon Persimmons sells like hot cake here. Once a while, Jaffa Grapefruits are grab up too. not forgetting the very much beloved AHAVA, we are 3 branches here and going strong. Ahava products have became my yearly must buy products for birthday / christmas gifts for friends. and the very comfy Naot Israeli shoes, are even recommended by top Hospitals' Podiatry. come to Singapore, we are just like Israelis, surrounded by muslims, we understand a little of how you feel. AND WE HAVE A LARGE PERCENTAGE OF ISRAEL LOVING CHRISTIAN. welcome to Singapore
2. Israeli products are some of the best
Rune F ,   Oslo Norway   (02.18.11)
Israeli products ar some of the best in many field as high tech and medicine and others. Many of the great microsoft products are made in Israel.I have sent 100s of links to Norwegian media to tell about great Israeli products. The jews are very intelligent people and i love the jews.I have a jewish friend who has helped me so very very much in life.Im very thankful to him.So it is sad that so many boycott Israel
3. Stop BDS
Lucy ,   London   (02.18.11)
by ending the occupation and giving the Palestinians some of their land back so they too can live in freedom and dignity...simples.
4. Brings back an old fashioned word, "skanky".
noa ,   israel   (02.18.11)
Someone like Ellen Thomas is dangerous because she is stupid. But what they are doing is plain evil. Again, the best description that comes to mind, is, "skanky."
5. Arabs boyctting Israeli goods -
18.02.11   (02.18.11)
or at least trying to. These people (not Jews) manage to sink to their lowest level. What a bunch of horrors!
6. BDS has been a total failure
Danny   (02.18.11)
Apart from trivial divestments, there has not been a single case where the BDS supporters have succeeded. It is such a large failure that they have, as is usual for anti-Israelis, resorted to lying. Such as when Harvard rotated out of Israeli stocks - which had more to do with changes in the index than anything else.
7. lets be fair
JL   (02.18.11)
the only ones who have damaged israels image are the israelis themselves..they screw thier own citizens..yet always try to portray themselves as the most caring..most giving...a virtual lght unto the nations
8. Anti-boycott bills more damaging than Boycotts themselves
Ronen ,   Tel Aviv   (02.18.11)
9. Good
Joe Schmoe ,   Israel   (02.18.11)
Now tell them to also turn off their computers, good chance it has one of the Core Intel chips inside that was developed in Israel, same goes for their laptops. Next, throw out most of your medicine since Teva is the largest pharmaceutical company on the planet. I can go on and on... But hypocrites will be hypocrites.
10. Boycott Israeli products
Ricardo Macher ,   karne Shomron IL   (02.18.11)
Israeli will only change their views and elect a decent Government when they feel pain in their pockets. So, in some cases, the boycott, yes, may be justified.
11. DONT BOYCOTT TEL AVIV
Alicia Cohen ,   Santiago de Chile   (02.18.11)
The boycott people are right. They are not boycotting Tel Aviv, Haifa, Ashod made products, but those that are in the West Bank. I myself, will start a campaign here in Santiago to bring awareness. Many Jews here are fed up with the situation. We go along very well with the Palestinian community here and we would like them to have their State. Israel for the Jews West Bank for the Palestinians. That's what we have to fight for. If Israel insists in use West Bank land to make products, we have to boycott them. How would Israelis feel if Palestinians were planting trees in Kfar Saba and profitting on them? Believe me, dear, Israelis would be the first to make a worldwide campaign to denonunce with the slogan: "Jews are being exploited again. This has been like that for 2000 years" .
12. how to 'over play your hand
tiki ,   belgium   (02.18.11)
These stupid Pals still think that somebody cares, but NOBODY does! Not the Arab's or the rest of the world. Even WB Pals don't care about Gaza Pals and vice versa. The world/Arabs will provide 'lipservice when it will not cost them a penny. Why should they? What have the Pals to offer exept DTP = Demonstrations, Terror & Problems.
13. all troubles in these muslim countries are caused by lack of
dato ,   kiev, Tel aviv   (02.18.11)
of sex! look their women. just send those arab demonstrators some nice chicks and the order will be restored immediately:))
14. Boycott is failing. Just ask the Palestinians
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (02.18.11)
Boycott shmoycott. The Palestinian Authority called for a boycott and do you know what the Palestinians themselves are doing? They're still buying. Here in Judea, just as in Samaria, is a large modern Israeli supermarket. The owner invested millions to build the stores in the west bank, and employs both Arabs and Jews. Who shops there? Arabs and Jews. The PA tried repeatedly to get Palestinians to stop shopping there, but on any given day the white and green Palestinian license plates pack the parking lot. Arabs and Jewish settlers mingle in the aisles, work together behind the counter, and at the checkout you sometimes aren't sure if the cashier is a native Hebrew or Arabic speaker. Boycott shmoycott. Despite the vicious and misleading propaganda campaign, Israel is definitely not South Africa. There is no apartheid here. There are indeed lots of problems - the biggest one being that the Palestinians themselves are boycotting the peace talks, while they shop at "settler" supermarkets. Peace will only be achieved through negotiation, and the Palestinians are not doing that.
15. This article completely IGNORES anti Israel Loons in USA/CAN
David Shemesh   (02.18.11)
Why?
16. #13 dato: Order restored, chicks destroyed
Lara Lgan ,   CBS, Kairo   (02.18.11)
17. #3 Arabs stole Arab land
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (02.18.11)
Arabs stole Arab land. How about the Hashemite princes give back the land they stole from the Palestinians and the Saud princes give back the land they stole from the Hashemite? Freedom and dignity...simples.
18. #11 Alicia
solomon ,   bklyn   (02.18.11)
Would you get along well with the Palestinian community in Chile if they did not recognize your right to exist, attacked your building, forced you out, and when order was restored and you were able to move back into your apartment, they demanded you "give it back" to them?
19. BDS movement intends to weaken and overwhelm Israel.
Stephen in New York   (02.18.11)
Let us be clear about BDS. The goal of the BDS movement is the delegitimatization and ultimate destruction of Israel. BDS claims to seek a democratic, secular state in the land west of the Jordan River. There are no secular, democratic countries within the Arab world. We can imagine the fate of the Israeli Jews if they are submerged beneath an Arab majority in a secular, democratic Palestine. The BDS movement intends to weaken and overwhelm Israel.
20. With Egypt have gone down the tubes value of
leo ,   usa   (02.18.11)
Israel as stable partner in the region has risen dramatically. Watch the Israel's image turn around and fast. With Europeans being fed up by Muslims hijacking their countries watch the Israel's image turn around and fast. In addition, there is much more to the whole World than just US and Europe. Let's face it BDS has failed and will hardly be remembered in few years.
21. Now need to wonder why Unemployment
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (02.18.11)
is so high among the Arabs, boycotts eliminate their own jobs Just like shooting yourself in the foot to express frustration Gaza is now at 45% Unemployment, keep up the good work, you'll be at 100% soon enough
22. Fed up with this rabble
Emma ,   London   (02.18.11)
I see these bullying thugs every week outside Marks & Spencer (because the idiots think it is a Jewish owned company - it is not) in Oxford Street every Thursday screaming their nonsense and spewing their hate on the streets of London. They make a lot of nasty noise and I am sure engage with people but ultimately people in the UK don't take much notice, they are unpleasant but I haven't noticed too much impact on the people going in and out of the store a large number of which are Muslims in traditional dress. The depressing thing is the majority of the people manning the barricades are your usual anti-Israel British left wing nutters. As number 9 Joe Shmoe says if they want to really boycott Israel they will not succeed because so many of the things they use in daily life were invented or developed by Israelis using their brain power to contribute humanity unlike the Arabs whose wealth comes from the oil that they were given. They do nothing for humanity but cause death and destruction.
23. Boycott
Bronstein ,   Paris France   (02.18.11)
No, Teva is only one of the largest pharmaceutical manufacturer in the world which specialized in generics, in short, they simply copy what others take years to invent and patent. Nothing to boast about. And Teva can be easily boycotted since their products already exist with an original brand.
24. the superiority of Israeli products and
Barney ,   USA   (02.18.11)
technology will continue their success. As you saw on this site the Israeli economy is growing while the arabs are going down the tubes. The world is getting sick of islam. There is NEVER NEVER NEVER anything positive about arabs or islam in the news. isn't that odd?
25. Boycott?
misaac ,   Washington, DC, USA   (02.18.11)
If these BDS fanatics had the courage of their convictions, they would boycott cell phones which were developed in a Motorola lab in Haifa, or Instant Messaging, an Israeli invention. How about boycotting anything that comes out of Intel, with their R&D presence in Israel. Giving up Humus and hand cream is easy. Tell the boycotters to give up something they value.
26. Bronstein @ 23, I'll go slow.
leo ,   usa   (02.18.11)
1. If 'brands' were enough 'generics' would've never existed. 2. Example: brand made by non-boycotted-whoever costs $100, equally effective generic made by Teva costs $5. 3. Now I expect you to tell me you will boycott Teva and will go by brand. Yeah, I dig that.
27. perhaps the boycotters would prefer
Barney ,   USA   (02.18.11)
arab/islamic goods such as hatred, ignorance, jihadism, repression of human rights, sharia law, stoning, suicide bombing, hijacking, and so on. yeah man give us some of that. it is much better than technology, medicine, fruit, vegetables, and that kind of stuff.
28. Send to USA, I buy Israel products
Claudia ,   Tampa USA   (02.18.11)
whenever I can find them. My drip irrigation stuff is made in Israel, so are the sheets on my beds. Beautiful flower bulbs blooming this spring! Just let us know where to find them and we will buy! Nuts to the racist EU.
29. No 23, Bronstein
(02.18.11)
You can ignore all the medical and technological inventions for Israel is responsible but that won't stop them being Israeli. If you ever need a scan for medical reasons will you refuse to be scanned by a machine that has been developed in Israel? Perhaps you could do well to read this link as would anyone who genuinely wants to boycott Israel. http://israeltravel.wordpress.com/2007/07/03/if-youre-going-to-boycott-israel-do-it-properly/ Funny how a small country the geographical size of Wales can produce such innovations while the Arabs with all their billions and their oil wealth cannot.
30. #23, Teva
Fluffi ,   Germany   (02.18.11)
is a good example why boycotts in today's globalized world are generally stupid: The company has 40.000 employees worldwide and 'only' 8.000 of them are located in Israel. If Teva would get into trouble because of boycotts, the first locations they would close down were the one's outside of Israel, e.g. in France and Germany.
