31. Speaking of "in-bred"...
Eitan ,   Chicago   (02.18.11)
...How many recessive traits were passed down to Friedman? Maybe he's jealous that better genetic diversity means Israeli Jews aren't sunken-eyed monsters like him?
32. #18 Denial
Yossef   (02.18.11)
and there are a bunch of jews in Israel who agree 100% with Mr. Fraiman. I'm one of them, by the way ;-)
33. Friedman - the great maven
c   (02.19.11)
This (and also Martin Sherman's article a few days ago) is a very good response to Friedman's insane take on Israel's reaction to the events in Egypt. Unfortunately, for us, neither articles will appear in the international press while Friedman has the New York Times (one of the worst anti-Israeli papers) to spew his ridiculous opinions. If anyone is 'out-of-touch, in-bred, unimaginative and cliché-driven' - it is Friedman - a self-important and pompous ass.
34. Mubarack was becoming senile any way needed to go RIGHT
M.S. ,   mpls america   (02.19.11)
I realize that at 82 the senior Mubarack was probably losing touch with reality this often happens in senior Arab leaders who want to stay remain in power decades after they should have retired thus the end of the Mubarack regime was just a result more of old age then any thing else the protesters knew he was too old too senile to handle the situation it was best for him to have resigned retired Assad is young this could not happen in Syria some thing that this reporter may be missed as did Yahoo news so on RIGHT ??? Thank You... M. S.
35. Tell him to get ost,he and his over inflated ego
Benorr ,   Haifa Israel   (02.19.11)
What a pain this guy is turning out to be,tell him in no uncertain terms that we don't need a Jew from the safety of his New York Bubble telling us what to do or not to do.TM Come here serve the state then open your mouth.Otherwise piss off.
36. Friedman is irrelevant
mike cato ,   usa   (02.19.11)
Since the returned -from -exile Islamic fanatic and anti-israel fundamentalist has been received by welcoming, cheering millions in Tahrir Square, what Friedman says is irrelevant--this whole article is irrelevant. Israel must now make preparations to retake the Sinai and Gaza. It cannot have an IRAN#2 on its borders
37. # 36...You're right, Friedman is irrevelant....
Edithann ,   USA   (02.20.11)
Just as irrelevant as your statements! You're going to take back Gaza and the Sinai??...hahahaha...you must be smoking something good..I bet your delusions include pretty girls you can't get too... There will be no more wars..the Gazan massacre is the last thing you dumb Jews will do...you will start making peace, or start leaving..preferably 'leave'...You haven't done one good thing for anyone but yourselves in the past 60+ years you've been on that continent, except plunder... The world is changed..War is becoming unprofitable...Even if you 'took it' ...you'll spend the rest of eternity living in fear it will be taken away...So how has depending on the US been for you lately? Who can the Jew trust anymore..you've run out of friends! TATA
38. Absolutely right
Sarah ,   Jerusalem   (02.20.11)
Your analysis is exactly right. The west is playing a dangerous game. Kudos for laying out the situation so clearly and accurately. I wish every American could read this.
39. to #21 John
Sarah ,   Jerusalem   (02.20.11)
You wrote: "Egypt obviously does not oppose liberal democracy in Israel. It does, however - and with good cause - oppose a Jewish or radically anti-Muslim regime in Israel." Your analogy is flawed, simplistic, and actually argues in favor of Mr. Fraiman's article. Israels is not and has never been "radically anti-Muslim"- Just ask the muslim Bedouin IDF soldiers who receive a beautiful Koran from the army during their service. And to be clear, Egypt, like the Palestinian Authority, does reject the idea of a Jewish state. The PA won't even acknowledge us as such. Israel, on the other hand, must be wary the development of anti-Semitic, anti-Israel governments and of Muslim (or any other form of) theocracy. Why? Because such political entities (Hezbollah, Hamas, etc...) have made clear that they want to destroy our country.
40. There are a few of these American journalists who seem
Sarah Blake ,   TA Israel   (02.22.11)
To think that they can come here and tell us how we should run our affairs. The British Guardian too has a few of these journalists who constantly smear Israel.Their criticism of Israel borders on anti-Semitism.
