Ricardo Macher ,   Karnei Shomron IL   (02.17.11)
Dear Mr. Obama, where were not asked not to build? You mean that we can keep building in Tel Aviv? This guy is incredible he prepares the traps where he falls after!!!!
3. From one president to another....
t. shapira ,   belgium   (02.17.11)
Obama spoke to his Palestinian "counterpart"??? Aren't we forgetting some minor details, like ......'one has a country, one does not, one was elected, one was not, one is leading the whole free world, one can't even lead his own tribe. What 2 presidents? This is the idiotic world we live in, putting a US president on the same level as a 'Pal Prime Minister. No wonder it's a mess.
4. Mind your business Obama
Nour ,   One State   (02.17.11)
If youre scared go hide in a closet. The Palestinian people have just about had it with sock muppet Abbas. This is his last chance to prevent his own trial or assassination!
5. Israelis, stop talking and annex your land once and for all
Schreiber   (02.17.11)
Enough games in the name of peace have been played at the expense of Jewish land. Israel lost big time: its land, security, oil and gas, settlements, and much more. For nothing! People are beginning to wonder what's wrong with a state that sees its peace treaty with Egypt vanish, the one with Jordan about to vanish, and still want to repeat the experience with the PA Arabs. Any explanations?
6. Core US principles : Settlements in Judea and Samaria.

9. I'm sooo sorry but I must say :
Salma ,   Palestine   (02.17.11)
Obama is Shameless!
10. Obama's blundering should be encouraged
Gobbo   (02.17.11)
The more he blunders and weakens his allies, the more he'll anger Jews and pro-Israel Americans, and the more bad press he'll receive in the U.S. media. That could help translate to a defeat in 2012, which is vitally important. Let Obama be the President who lost Egypt, drove the Saudis into the hands of Iran, denied Israel the veto at the UN, served her up on a platter to her enemies, and basically set the Middle East on fire... and who let the U.S. debt accumulate beyond repair... and he'll be gone soon enough. The only downside to this plan is that the world might cease to exist, but don't distract me with details...
11. To: Gobbo at No. 10
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.17.11)
Loved your post! Don't forget that he is the first United States president to be born outside the country. Oh, wait! Doesn't the Constitution prohibit foreign-born presidents? Should we be thinking impeachment?
12. counterparts ??? ynetnews is joking... right?
stude ham   (02.17.11)
in what ways are these two men equal? BO commands the most powerful defence forces in the world... the richest nation in the earth... heads over 300M people... abbas has none of the above... so ynetnews is joking... right?
13. Israel was forced in Palestine, time to force Palestine also
Ann ,   UK   (02.17.11)
14. Congress You are on Standby!! Obama is trying to find a gap
Martin ,   SA   (02.17.11)
America must veto any resolution that deligitimises our dominian over Yehudah and Shomron We dont want inuendos that your muslim pres tries to legitimise rights of arabs without negotiation. Fellow Jews and political leaders Time to WAKE UP NOW we need to assert our postion and urgently consider our options especially in view of Egypt and Jordan fluid situation. We need to consider our postion if an irresponsible administration reneges on undertakenings. We cant let them say we misunderstood, its a mistake We will try and not do it again. Please understand we had so much pressure It seems we need to be extremely vigilent and if necessary warn the administration. Failure to issue warnings and coutionaries may be read as condonation. My simple view: We have the right to all of Judea and Sameria. We received as a gift from Jordan. Yes its ours whether we are comfortable about it or not. We need to consider our position especially if all agreements on peace negotiations are set aside or contravened. ie Oslo etc We would then have the right to take a postion in our soul interest like annexing without apology. Am Yisroel Chai.
15. America always stated that it opposed settlements
Jack   (02.17.11)
America has always indicated that they opposed settlements and no buliding of settlements outside of Israel national borders (when Israel was founded in 1948) Israelis have no respect to international law or even their own declaration of their state and national borders of 1948
16. Elior you have read the postion well
Martin ,   SA   (02.17.11)
Action stations The American postion must be unequivical. No compromises. There are no peace negotiations period. The Arab league instructed Abbass. He has no postion except 67 boarders. Everything else are RED Hearings So nobody is going to get truly upset over vague diversions of untruth. They may let off steam and suggest what they were never going to do. Now allege that all negotiation are stopped and cry Gevalt and shed some crocodile tears. US administration must best toe the line of congerss on core issues. We thank the caring Americans for their loyalty in the face of the seemingly muslim administration.
17. Obama likely reelected, US Jews have money but few votes
Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, Texas   (02.17.11)
Obama's numbers are going up in US but down in Israel. A setting US President is never easy to beat and Republicans are too far right to win over enough independents.
18. #14. wrong Israel preceded Roman named "Palestine"
Yaawqove ,   Israel   (02.17.11)
by over 1500 years. Open a book...
19. #11 - Thanks, Sarah!
Gobbo   (02.18.11)
Very kind of you. Impeachment? Absolutely! Every possible grounds for impeachment should be considered. At the very least, the campaign to brand him as a gigantic danger must continue and intensify. Fear might be the only way to persuade his supporters to ditch him. If all else fails, change the locks on the front door of the White House... but also the back door, coz that's how he got in in the first place...
20. WHY DISCOMFORT???
jewish CANADIAN ,   Toronto   (02.18.11)
The settlements are illegal.Period. They are also immoral.Israel desperately wants to avoid any peace talks. President Obama must show courage and CONDEMN those who are are leading Israel and Palestine towards bloodshed.
21. #10 Gobbo - You would make sense except
Howard K   (02.18.11)
that you're running out of time. The PA will declare independence, probably this year, the UN will approve it and the Israeli government will start to withdraw from one area at the time, until the settlers are left unarmed and unprotected, with no option but to leave. Don't expect much from the next US administration, be it democrat of republican. It is up to Israelis to take their country back into their own hands and annex the land. The Arabs have Jordanian citizenship and once Jordan abrogates its treaty with Israel in a few years, they will just have to go back home.
22. soo sad
hisham ,   palestine   (02.18.11)
well Mr.obama !! why are you doing this ? in favor of what ? does that going to bring Palestinian state one step closer ? if the answer no for settlement freeze , how the answer will be yes for Palestine state at UN soon ?? i was born at 1968 im 43 now all i sow in my life is check points ,check search , discrimination , and nothing but bad roads , do you think we will as Palestinians stand this situation for how long ? i m telling you now ,the answer is not for too long ,
23. # 12
(02.18.11)
The richest country today is Switzerland, not America.
24. #10 it's worse than you think
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (02.18.11)
Obama's racism-induced foolishness has critically damaged American interests. He will lose 2012, not because he betrayed American allies, but the economy. And trust me, it will get bad when oil is at $200/barrel. The winners? Iran, Russia, Norway and Venezuela. The losers? Obama-voting Americans of lower and lower-middle incomes who will no longer be able to afford food.
25. B.S.
DF ,   Brazil   (02.18.11)
The so called "settlments" are what some people call home. How would you react if your own brothers throw you out of your own home?
26. Sarah Z
Pete ,   Uk   (02.18.11)
Hmm he was born in Hawaii which last time I looked was part of the USA I fear since the Stuxnet virus entered you lower end and attacked your brain you seem to be unable to Google
27. Illeana Ros-Lethinen = AIPAC Lackey
James ,   USA   (02.18.11)
Ros-Lethinen is nothing but an AIPAC lackey. The Founding Fathers must be rolling in their graves at the cite of American politicians so beholden to a foreign country.
28. #26 To this day, Obama can't prove he was born in Hawaii. He
Harry Wright ,   UK   (02.18.11)
cannot produce a long form birth certificate because none exists for him. But grandma says he was born in Kenya and they had to shut her up. He is spending millions to hide his personal records - school etc.
29. Dear Mr Obama
Mohammad Jazra ,   Costa Rica   (02.18.11)
I am a palestinian living in a different land. I hate to say it but Israel is right in every way. They act proper, they treat us with respect and we spit in the face of democrocy. If i was home they would kill me for speaking my mind, but i have to say when we faulter we look to israel for its help. and the funny thing is they help us?? they are funny like that. you should help them in every way.. not just to better themselves but to better everyone... palestine will be one day. but it should be on a peaceful accord. i wish my people would see the same way.
30. # 26 and Sarah Zzzzz
