Eran ,   Singapore   (02.18.11)
At last Obama's hands are tied. He will be a ont term president.

Ahmad Abouali ,   Nablus   (02.18.11)
3. Stop sending my hard earned money to the Arabs!!!!!!!
American Taxpayer   (02.18.11)
4. Nobody, NOBODY will tell us where to build in Holy Land!
(02.19.11)
Definitely not a gang of hypocrite, hateful and racist, genocidal terrorists. Israel is here to stay, and trying to destroy it, will sink the entire Middle East, from Beirut through Baghdad to Teheran, into a bloodbath of destruction. Muslims in their arrogant destruction spree, will bring despair and destruction to their peoples, while israel will survive and flourish. The day the Muslims will attempt to attack Israel again, will mark the beginning of the end of Islam and it's deathly grip on the free world.
5. This will backfire
palidov ,   kiev   (02.19.11)
humannity has been robbed by a corrupt israel with the help of a disappointing obama. what a shame this world is witnessing. israel is not deserving of any proper attention. it has twisted history once again. But the real answer will come in form of intifada since the arab tsunami has its waves
6. Who cares what the representative of Londonistan says.
(02.19.11)
7. #5
(02.19.11)
when your pals, the terrorists demande a settlement freeze to com to the table to talk, they got a 10 months freeze. did they come to the table? Oh yes, they did, after 9 months, knowing Israel would not extend the freeze and knowing no settlement could be reached in one month. what f*cking hypocrites. and you support them
8. Obama is out of the closet
tea man ,   marjayoun   (02.19.11)
Obama has come out of the closet with America's long hidden support of Israeli settlements. In one moments time, Obama has finally confessed that what matters to America's leadership is not peace, but expanding Israel's settlements. Will America send their troops to die for Israel's settlements? They already have. But both him and Israel will pay the price
9. Whom to choose in the MEast?
shrinkDave ,   Miami USA   (02.19.11)
Should America be allies of people that danced in the streets after 9/11, who are corrupt, whose women are repressed, who recruit there own children to commit suicide instead of improving their own lot? Or a democratic, financially and militarily strong people that respect women's and civil rights? You from Kiev and you from Marjayoun should even have a taste of a civil society.
10. The phonies exposed
John H ,   NZ   (02.19.11)
Obama and the US are shown to be emperors without clothes, exposed for all to see. This leaves absolutely no doubt of US hypocrisy and bias, and their unfitness to play any mediating role in the Middle East. It may also be the death-knell to the so-called "peace process", which has always been an Israeli phony to gain an extra pound of flesh. We now await the threatened repercussions.
11. September 13 is in the work
Palestinian   (02.19.11)
12. Bravo USA!
James ,   Canada   (02.19.11)
More illegal Israeli settlements is sure to bring peace!
13. #5 - Stop your propaganda
AD ,   Toronto, Canada   (02.19.11)
You posted the same crap on Ha'aretz. We can see through you you dumb bastard!
14. #8 makes no sense
Oren Katz ,   Canada   (02.19.11)
Really? What are you talking about? What American troops died for "Israel's settlements"? Or, are you just saying stuff. And will the price they pay be more or less than the incredible wads of money they currently sink into the black hole called the "Palestinian economy"? Maybe there will be a savings?
15. This is Obama's Fault
RickD ,   USA   (02.19.11)
This entire issue of the settlements has been caused by O's mistaken attack on Israel and settlements for the past 2 years. Abbas, foolishly, followed O up the tree. Now that O has come down from that tree Abbas is still stuck up the tree. If O hadn't focussed on this issue then this wouldn't have come to pass. Most likely there will be no progress in peace negotiations as long as O is in the WH. Note that Rice doesn't say that the settlements are illegal, only that they lack legitimacy. She's right that they're not illegal. They are a stumbling block though, certainly. And that is the reason that so many countries want to say that they're illegal, even though there's no real basis for that statement under international law. Many countries just want to give the Pals a stronger bargaining position and put pressure on Israel, so they say that the settlements are illegal.
16. International comunity Isolate US
Saba ,   Zinzibar   (02.19.11)
popular changings in the arab world , historic freinds of US disapear from power , if US looking for democracy in the arab world they must convince the population that US is a real freind
17. Stop sending my hard earned money to this apartheid state IL
American Taxpayer2   (02.19.11)
We, the people of the United States of America, are paying for Israel with our money and with our blood. The day will come when we will realize that our support for Israel does neither serve our national nor our moral interest.
18. Time for Israel to start removing illegal
jason white ,   afula, israel   (02.19.11)
arab settlements. Israel better explain to abu abb-ass that he has overstayed his time on earth
19. the EU is joining latin america...
bruno ,   Portugal   (02.19.11)
Well, I'm glad this resolution was vetoed by the US, although I don't agree on their motivations... I'm very sorry for Portugal's decision (my country, one of the 14 who voted against the settlements), who followed these thugs at the UN for the sake of...financial gain ! What I understood behind this scam is that the EU is contemplating palestinian independance by september of this year...
20. To: No. 8
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.19.11)
Oh, stop with your nonsense and your sour grapes. The ersatz "Palestinians" have sown the wind for seven decades; they have no right to complain when the time comes to reap the whirlwind. Seventy years of unrelenting terror have to count for something. There is also the matter of six wars -- all started by the Arabs, all won by Israel. Nothing in the Arab mentality leads anyone to believe that they are interested in peace. Ultimately, the United States had to back its sole dependable and democratic ally in the region, because the ersatz "Palestinians" were too stupid to soften the rhetoric. Yet another in a long, long series of disastrous mistakes on the part of the ersatz "Palestinians." By the way -- bad idea for you to threaten Israel or the United States. Do you think that the American people have forgotten the bombing of the United States Embassy and Marine Barracks in Beirut? Guess again. Payback can be a bitch, so be really careful who you threaten. As to Israel -- more loose talk from the Lebanese or Hezbollah, and Israel's new northern border is the Litani. We've done it before. We can do it again.
21. Thank you, United States Congress
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.19.11)
.... for putting the handwriting on the wall for this Israel-hating administration in letters so large, even the inept president and his sidekicks could not fail to read the message. Thanks, too, to the American people, who made their wishes very well known to their Congressional representatives. The president of the United States works for the American people, after all. Today, for the first time, he actually did.
22. The US position is Abundantly Clear
Leon ,   Ottawa, Canada   (02.19.11)
Despite US hasbara or lies, they support illegal Israeli settlements and show nothing but contempt for this violation of international law. This is actually positive because the Arab street is given confirmation that Israel is above all of the laws that the rest of the world must obey. In the past, the US and Israel could simply laugh at the 'stupid' Arabs, but now the people are rising up. The Arab street is making their voice and that is wonderful.
23. #8
Don Saliman ,   Nahal Oz   (02.19.11)
tell me one time American troops ever fight and die to help Israel. I consider America a friend of Israel but not once was American asked to fight for Israel, we have all ways fought to defend ourselves without soldiers from any country to help. Don't write about facts you aare not sure of and you can not make up facts tp prove your point
24. This is why Israel still alive.
Alejandro ,   Spain   (02.19.11)
After 1982 more than 35 Vito by USA Protecting Israel, 14 voted with the resolution and only USA was against, that is funny and it's wrong... The jewish have never Settled down and have neer had a home, now it's a historical time for them to get a peaceful country with peaceful neighbours, But NOOOO they don't want to they want mooooore, give the palestinians a country with 1967 borders and live peacefully next to them, What is wrong with that ? ? ? ? If it wasn't for USA Israel wouldn't be here. . .
25. palidov
Chim ,   USA   (02.19.11)
Gee that's a real good idea, start another intifada becasue it sure worked out well for the Palestinians didn't it? palidov you show yourself to be a complete dolt by everything you say. Of course coming from the jew hating Ukraine, I'm not the least bit surprised
26. #8 tea man - DRAMA in a TEA CUP
CK Tan ,   Singapore, Singapore   (02.19.11)
Of course tea man is STRUCK by selective AMNESIA fthat Israel - under US pressure - HALTED settlement activities for 10 months to jump start peace talks. Or that the palis CHOSE to delay the talks until 9 months LATER and only then to DEMAND that Israel extend the freeze. Or that the palis CHOSE not to accept Olmert's comprehensive peace deal. Yes, FOAMING at the mouths - that what the palis, Israel bashers and tea man seem to be GREAT at.
27. #5
Jorge el judio ,   Israel/USA/Argentina   (02.19.11)
Keep quiet your antisemitism. Worry about not to be conquer by the Russian. The resolution is about construction in the land of Israel.
28. To #5: speaking of robbery and corruption
Frank ,   Canada   (02.19.11)
You should rather take care of the corrupted hellhole that you call your country.
29. The UK can go stick it
Falafelis ,   Montreal, Canada   (02.19.11)
where the sun don't shine. Israel should introduce a resolution condemning their settlements in Ireland and the Falklands.
30. #2 - if so, why even mention the word "black"?
William ,   Israel   (02.19.11)
Don't try to hide the truth Ahmad. Even the Editor-in-Chief of Al-Quds Al-Arabi, Abd Al Bari Atwan, stated that the Arab people are the most racist, against everyone who is not an Arab Muslim Male. He stated this on the heels of Obama's inauguration when he cited the need for the Arab world to break down their racist barriers as well. Go sell your fake narrative of a "peace-loving non-racist people" to the EU. They'll buy anything you dish out.
